I think one explanation I've heard is in more comp sci spaces, you spend a lot of time alone, which gives you a lot of time for introspection.

Personally, I'm not wearing programming socks. Mostly because I'm wearing nothing at all.

It usually depends on what app you're using. Desktop and a couple apps display it by default or when hovered. Others might not show it at all because they're built off reddit apps which doesn't show it separated

Duolicious is one. Its user base is mostly 4channers though.

If you're willing to use the EAP version, its already there.

Revolt is a FOSS discord clone, where its possible to self host a server. They're very small though, something like 120K users and the devs are uni students. Funnily, they just moved to the Discrim model.
