Not surprising considering what it is. I've seen people claim that the API is quite bad, to say it nicely. Can't imagine the app's code to be much better :)

I'm switching between Thunder and Eternity, both still in development but already solid for me.

Special emphasis on "too", of course

Which section is this referring to exactly?
Not on the same page?

Who knows what it's up to once you're not looking at it?!

And once again we have people thinking that the instance owners would have to discuss everything they want to do with them and get the approval of everyone. It's already great that they're making announcements instead of doing it silently until people notice on their own. Plus, it's not hard to make an account elsewhere if you don't like it here. I doubt you're restricted to this single instance.

Seems SCP-1507 has breached containment

Why's that? Anything post-related?

I love that the title text isn't just cut off but instead stretches out over the image and below (thunder app)

endangering the welfare of a child

Seems like it should be more than just endangering...

A byte in this context always means 8 bit though, it has nothing to do with powers of 10 or 2. The prefix of K (kilo), M (mega), G (giga) or Ki (kibi), Mi (mebi), Gi (gibi) doesn't change the meaning of "byte".

You mixed that up, computer engineers know that the earth is flat, it's geologists who know about the tiny people making all our electronics work

As long as it's mixed with a slight amount of sodium chloride along with some other natural minerals you should be fine. I heard drinking it pure makes your cells explode

I think open signups allow people to create an account without verification like email. I'm not sure about captchas, those might also count as a kind of verification.

Hm, I'm counting 35 days

And "America" is in "North America"

Why not?

It looks no different than any of the other comments to me. Though I haven't been here for even a day, so... :))

I don't think they'd expected you to mean reddit made it all up. I didn't either, but with what's been happening I wouldn't be as surprised anymore...

Smooth brains for the win!

I think it can also give it a different signature, right? A unique app for everyone sounds like fun :D

For a moment I was worried that "funeral potatoes" was some euphemism for something there that I couldn't identify

A man in a dimly lit room sits on the corner of a desk, speaking to the camera in a slow manner
"Do you think this story is true, or do you think that our writers just made it all up? Let's take a look at our next story first."

Kinda reminds me of this mystery show I can't recall the name of :))
I'd love to see a book or even just a "small" web series though. You probably amassed quite some experience on how to write characters to make them feel close to reality.

Oh damn, that sounds horrible. Now I'm even more glad I didn't see these

Thanks for this post, it sent me off on an one hour journey researching sustainable phones, OS options and more. And now I'm thinking of getting a Fairphone or Shift phone. It's great to see manufacturers not trying to make repairing and rooting your phone as complicated as possible.

Well, maybe not the time energy stealing kind but, we can't be sure they don't move just because they didn't when we were looking at them

"Wtf is that title?!... Oh, it's 'Bild', makes sense."

Why would everything posted in this comment section have to do with the post, especially if it's a response to another comment instead of directly to the post?

Billion or million? :P

After actually reading the article I see they're well-defined. Thanks for pointing me there ^^

People know what dropdown menus are called :O

I've seen some people talking about how the lemmy developers are planning for the ability to "group" communities (of the same name or something like that) on different instances together.
I'm taking this as those communities then forming one community that doesn't have to rely on a single instance's community to "survive".
Haven't put too much thought into this but I think that would at least lessen that problem, especially for new niche subjects popping up. The difficulty for existing niche communities starting anew here will probably remain but I'm hopeful for the future.

How does the UI size work out for you? I recently took a look at it on a windows pc and the tiny size of most things is the one problem I have with it. Then again, I read something about being able to scale different programs individually somewhere (not for windows though)
