I'd argue that tofu is way better than most meats.

Javier Milei, Matteo Salvini, Boris Johnson, Geert Wilders, Jair Bolsonaro & a frightening whole lot of others have entered the chat.

That's one of the smartest things I read all day (outside of the Rust book and sdl2 doc :p)

Who are you responding to?

It's extremely reminiscent of the French political landscape in the 30's when all the left wing parties united themselves as the Popular Front against the rising fascist leagues.

This netted us - amongst other things - the 40h work week, paid vacations, etc.

I'm not sure that soulless corporatism is what I would find refreshing inbetween two servings of xenophobic manchildren.

Otoh one of my friends is an IT teacher and there are regular issues with students blindly following dumb chatGPT advice.

Recently, one had removed their fstab directory 🤣

ChatGPT is very good at giving advice that sounds good but it still has absolutely no understanding about what it says. The quintessential child of a politician and a manager...

I'd wager it has something to do with living in a barren wasteland for at least half the year.

Their bread is so sugary that in some countries it is by law a pastry.

Hey you're gonna die, it's on you now wink

And maybe trying to wring as much money as possible from everyone is contributing to making our world unlivable (for us).

Which is funny since the guy in the video was an Italian-American posing as an American native.

There are about as much intersexuated humans as they are redheads.

Lots of species only have "1 sex" since they reproduce asexually (including some neat lizards).

Fungi went a bit overboards and you'd lack fingers to count most of them.

It's like imaginary numbers, stuff is always a little more complicated than you were taught in middle school :)

Or in a class that eould make them prime targets for harassment if they were normally schooled.

In order to make the reflection work the bed would have to be angled against the wall.

It's funny how the brain instantly notices that the perspective is nonsensical but can't really pinpoint the issue ^^

No it's "raton laveur" which roughly translates as "washing ratlet"

how is it funny that our current discourse is so permeable to islamophobia?

I'm not sure I'd consider alcohol a "food product"

Although I 110% agree with your comment.

Any promotion of the concept of gender and gender roles is a bad idea imo.

I wholeheartedly agree with what you said there! (even if it might not be what you meant)

We should treat children (and people at large) as neutrally as possible and wait for them to decide for themselves.

Like no expressed expectations, just some tools to understand who they are :)

Gender and gender roles have always been there, what's promoted is understanding of these concepts and self determination.

Genderbread person

What's the issue with that?

It's pretty neutral and just defines some terms (sex, gender identity, gender expression, romantic and sexual attraction) and not much more imho.

Regarding gender roles...

To me this feels as a non-issue. Trans folks don't have much in terms of representation. It's a natural pattern to try to identify with figures that look the most like you. A tomboy girl and a transmasc boy can at the same time identify themselves with e.g. Mulan without impeding on each other's interpretation, can't they?

Because a lot of people find older folks having sex really icky. And it's such a deeply ingrained and weird take.

So I'm here to dispute it.

It's quite simple actually.

Or is it?

Do you take into account that:

  • Most processed food are created around the bliss point in order to make it as addictive as possible.
  • Fresh food being more expensive and/or more time consuming to prepare than processed alternatives.'
  • the existence of food deserts.
  • advertising pushing unhealthy and addictive eatings habits down our collective throats with little to no regulations (why not do what we did with alcohol/tobacco in a lot of countries?)
  • bad habits formed during childhood such as empty calories used as rewards, etc.

Imho everyone can put the fork down as in everyone can stop smoking or doing any drugs really. It's possible but demands an extra effort that not anyone is able to put in at any given moment (without even taking relapses into account).

To me it really has some "it's your fault you got conned" vibes ^^'

weaponized autism?

It's like a restaurant with a single dish and you can only chose a side. One's xenophobia with a sprinkle of batshit crazy, the other's utter impotence.

Being arbitrary is often the point though.

What's clean oil?

imho it's the perfect intersection of "I don't care if shitty things happen to people I hate" and "rape on men isn't as bad".

Kinda like ppl who exclusively misgender asshole trans folks on purpose?

Plus some irony 'cause the guy's a massive homophobe.

Note that I'm not saying the dude's underserving the hate coming his way. He worked extra hard to earn every picogram of it.

Why though?

Of course it's on the ceiling.

I'm glad it wasn't that hard for you ^^

But I think you're confusing hard and difficult.

In this instance, parents and pediatricians ^^'

Except it might be good :p

Well from what I understand it was supposed to be an internal code of conduct for the FL GOP rather than a law.

I'm claustrophobic and shouldn't have seen this post before sleeping...

Frodo is the sentient equivalent of tying the ring to a snail.

Jokes aside he is supposed to be exceptionally resilient to its corruption.

How is self accountability incompatible with systemic issues?

I'm pretty sure the photographer in question got all his court fees paid for by PACs or think tanks.

As we shouldn't judge people for their addictions ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It's a tad more complicated:

  • Skype is still Skype
  • but Skype Enterprise is just a skin strapped over the og Lync (which sucks an order of magnitude more that a black hole)
  • Team is a new product developped from scratch.
  • Team is an overhaul of sharepoint, I stand corrected.
