A #ttrpg nerd and a #rodent lover.

Pfp is my #hamster, Mister Peanut Butter, looking shocked at me taking a picture of him while he's busy grooming himself. Banner picture is of my two #cavy boars, Oreo (right) and Coffecake (left), who are claiming that I have never fed them once and will soon starve to death, despite the full food bowl behind them.

@Sanctus

Fuck i forgot about Gurren Lagan. What am I doing with my life

@Jezebelley
Why would I do that? I can't leave comments on Lemmy posts and Peertube videos from there!

I think people just are fed up with Twitter and are looking for the most twitter-like thing they can find. Mastodon is, frankly, nothing like Twitter. The vibes are too different.

@ThisIsAManWhoKnowsHowToGling

What the fuck is going on over there in @196, and how high was I when I followed that community from over here?

You are getting quarantined to a Meme list. Get out of my feed

@Godric
So unfair that they keep typecasting black actors into playing black characters.

@grasshopper_mouse

  1. I already know pokemon. I'm making an active effort to not be into pokemon anymore.

  2. As a kid i wasnt allowed to watch tv or play videogames, so I've been trying to catch up on the childhoods everyone else had.

  3. Trying to get out of MTG, not interested in the Pokemon TCG or the One Piece TCG because their mechanics aren't interesting to me, and there is no amount of money you could pay me to deal with the average Yu-Gi-Oh player. The Digimon TCG seems cool, though.

You actually reminded of this wonderful #dream I had last night about explaining to my fiancée how earthworms are an invasive species

@akilou good to know about the Linux, I am a Linux user

@Crafter72
I watched a good chunk of it when it was first coming out, but I had to drop it because i was frankly not in a good enough place to hear the things that show was trying to say.

@starlord2014 wish Mullvad had an email service lol. I have looked into them previously and they do seem like the most trustworthy overall.
But then i get to the checkout and have a moment where I think "why am I doing this? I don't torrent!" And then I never go through with it, which means I don't get into torrenting, etc. And the cycle goes on

There was a Sewer Man!

@sbv they tend to see clips on either YouTube shorts, TikTok, or incorporated into other things. They don't need to watch the actual show to think Homander is cool

@thantik yeah that was me. I prefer to keep my Mastodon stuff and Lemmy stuff separate. What happened was that I initially posted this from Lemmy, realized I would rather post this from Mastodon, and deleted the first one so there wouldn't be duplicates. I wasn't trying to gaslight you and you didn't do anything wrong.

@pteryx @196 fun fact about child development: Kids don't develop proper Theory of Mind until they are about 7 years old. Before the age of 7 every child is a little sociopath that is barely capable of comprehending that other people also have feelings.

Its not impossible for them to develop empathy, though it's hard. You can get those Empathy neurons firing by forcing the kid to think about other people's feelings at least once a day. So, any kid with good Empathy just has good parents.

Oh let me tell you about the D&D campaign I'm in. The first six months were nuts: We got hired to pick one of the emperor's 60-something kids to be appointed as the heir. By the time we left, there were four kids left alive.

Last session was a bit nuts. We got an angel fired from his job because he was bullying a snail, then had to resolve a custody battle between a coven of witches. We are level 4.

@Viking_Hippie they also have never felt full once in their life. It's not something their brain is wired to experience. They remind me of this constantly, as seen in my banner pic https://cdn.masto.host/dicecamp/media\_attachments/files/112/026/721/807/170/516/original/8136498ea948dba2.jpg

@pteryx @196 no that's just poor classroom management

@bluGill @asklemmy yeah that's kinda the reason I'm asking for help finding them. There isnt a good way to search on that platform.

@MonkCanatella that is actually a really good point. I did not think of this.

@LemmyKnowsBest not sure what you are picking up on, but I think our #mastodon server runs well partly because our admin works for Google and can bring his expertise over here. I have mixed feelings about that. He is very obviously a fan of the big tech companies and seemed a bit miffed that we all got so upset about #Threads trying to #federate

@Fundamentallylazy @ThisIsAManWhoKnowsHowToGling
Okay, that chart is, like, 5 difference systems of measurement pretending to be one unit of measurement. The imperial system is bad, but it's not quite as bad as that chart.

That said, I like how most imperial units are at a scale that feel nice. Like, most things you measure in feet are no more than 10 feet long, most things you measure in yards are less than a dozen yards long. Also, it's nice that at 0° F you know road salt isn't gonna work.

@Viking_Hippie Cavies are like Rabbits, but are generally hungrier. They like all the vegetables.

However, their normal diet is pellets and hay. They get very excited when they get to have veggies

@onlinepersona @thegiddystitcher that's actually what I am doing. I found I can just follow all these peertube users from Mastodon, so that's what I do

@ogmios

That sounds fucking awesome

@stifle867 interesting. I would prefer to have port-forwarding to cover my ass, though. I personally use Zorin OS, which is based on Debian, so maybe it might work?
