I could see this happening when they are babies though. Like 6 weeks in Bob becomes Tom and Tom becomes Bob and you might never know. I don't think that would be harmful at such a young age though.
I'm all for people's religious freedoms but this kind of BS is a huge problem. They act like we are requiring the LGBTQ flag in every classroom and respond by doing the exact thing they accuse others of doing.
A horrible user experience with an insufferable userbase. I can't believe it even lasted this long.
Who thought it would be great if similar questions overpowered the one you searched for?
That sounds horrible but in good news this was probably the funniest story I've heard on Lemmy so far
I'd really advise against forcing all code contributions to be copyrighted to you. It doesn't send a great message to contributors. It also gets murky if any libraries are used.
Pretty sure this isn't real. I can't find the post.
An actual problem to worry about too. I think there will always be people looking to contribute but as less people do AI may actually get dumber until they figure out how to train AI with AI
Yeah it's just hard sometimes. I try to strike a good balance between privacy and not making my life waaaay harder.
Wait the colors are different and so is the order
Honestly these days the built in Windows tools are more than enough. Storage settings gets the job done.
Also I love Linux too guys but those comments with nothing else aren't very helpful.
This feels like it was written by someone who hasn't done sysadmin of a Windows network in a long time. Everything is online and is almost always one click now. Provisioning, removing permissions, updating email filters, adding users. Each item is so much easier now than it used to be. I loving running my PopOs install but let's not pretend that SysAdmin is the 90s nightmare it once was.
Mr Free Speech Absolutist
Except when it is about me
Except when it is from a competitor
Except when I don't like it
This poll kind of sucks for data gathering. You ask two different questions but there's only one set of answers. Even the first question alone asks if we use and/or require, which should be separate.
To answer though: I use my headphone adapter whenever I travel but don't have a regular headphone jack. A jack is not absolutely required for me to purchase a phone but the adapter is.

I love Linux but I've been hearing this song since 2002. I'd love for it to grow bigger but we should stop framing it as the year of Linux.
I love that this is basically a "back in my day" but disguised as a problem that zoomers will have. Old man shouts at cloud but instead one day zoomers will yell at water in the sky!
I hate that they do this. You opened it, you touched the disc, the disc was run in a system. That's not new, that's not unused. GameStop should have never done this in the first place, and I can't believe they still do it.
Alright this one got me. I can't imagine some of the stories doing absolutely nothing for a viewer and them thinking they are so-so.
This has got to be bait from that user. The third screen is like the keyboard screen. What the heck are they even talking about. 36 hours to still be in the first three screens.
It reminds me of Malcom in the Middle where Hal thinks he's supposed to speak at every funeral. No one wants him to speak so they all look over at him to see if he's going to anyway. He always takes it as a sign they they want him to speak. 😂
Battle hardened > new
Unless the new has a killer feature set worth the trade off in potential bugs
Yeah as a boy I didn't like these either. They were sexy but made me feel a little weird. I was young enough not to realize it was targeting only boys, but now that I'm older I think that's why I didn't like them. I wasn't in to sex at the time.
That's true but I'm excited about the future of laptops. Some of the specs are getting really impressive while keeping low power draw. I'm currently jealous of what Apple has accomplished with literal all day battery life in a 14inch laptop. I'm hopeful some of the AMD chips will get us there in other hardware.
Posts about people being nicer while being condescending about his position 🤦
Maybe the media coverage makes it seem worse than it is and everyday people aren't nearly as impacted as it seems? I appreciate the criticism of us veiled as concern though, thank you!
Use what works best for you! I will say I love how I can customize StreetComplete so that the things I think are important can be asked first.
I'm likely done with Reddit but /r/Place was a really fun thing to do the years it showed up. OP seems to be discussing it only in relation to Lemmy. I think we should welcome that. It's a fun idea and would also drive activity to us.
I love the confidence here after stating you don't use Twitch. Twitch changed the way they deliver in stream ads, it's much more difficult to block now because it comes in as part of the video stream and not something added on top.
As a current Twitter user I would say there's actually a large void between normal ads and whatever the hell I'm getting served on that platform these days.
I definitely don't support nazi and far right nonsense but I don't think deplatforming does anything except drive those people and their users into deeper echo chambers.
Exactly. It was also that trade in program that was their undoing.
Every paragraph in this article is shocking. This is horrible.
I used to sneak in to E3 in the 2000s when it was industry only. It was always a blast. But I also think this style of show is done for in general. I really like the Nintendo Directs and it seems like other companies have figured out how to do their own version. I also like that we get news throughout the year instead of in May.
Also they leave out that almost 6 million additional signups were added by this change. I'm ready to go back to the high seas myself even though I'm the one who pays for the account haha
Hahaha this had me losing it for some reason
Minority Report had some glass storage stuff that was fun to see. He would insert a glass slide into the machine.
Guy Fieri
This would have helped me years ago when I was kind of confused on Mastodon. Very nice intro to new users.
He can't write off 44 billion though, he would get a tiny fraction of that and there are debts to pay back to investors.
We've moved into boomer territory when we joke that kids today don't get a joke older than the actual kids today
