My best recommendation for "replaying" the game is to get the mod "Quantum Space Buddies" and play it alongside a friend. I did this and it allowed me to play it vicariously through them, letting them make all of the decisions and just offering up tiny tidbits of assistance where necessary.

The mod has some bugs, but it's way more full-featured than I was expecting, and it's frequently updated to iron out more bugs

That first time when you look at a world map and scroll out.

And scroll out

And scroll out.

Brother, he's not saying he's going to avoid that teacher, he's saying he's going to avoid the place that fired him for saying "Vote for educted leaders". Don't be a buffoon.

It took him a few tries to get confident on the electric unicycle.

And his arms didn't protect him when he fell.

I was thinking that Horizon Forbidden West had fucked up again and set their PC release for the same day as Dragon's Dogma 2.

But for once it actually worked out in their favour. Dragon's Dogma 2 has an awful PC port, while HFW is running very well.

This is one Reddit trend that Lemmy should absolutely continue

Right? I used to spend hours on Reddit each day, now I only go on Lemmy during my 15 minute lunch break

There's been a lot of discussion recently about how companies have been making shitty decisions, which prompt people to move to the open-source alternatives, like what happened with Reddit, Twitter and Unity etc. However, is there a viable alternative for film-related media, beyond simply piracy?

While Lemmy, Godot etc obviously have many costs, primarily servers and development, they don't have to deal with licensing in the same way to get content. Is there an existing alternative, or do you see a way for there to ever be an existing alternative without some rich company already backing it?

Reddit is a British museum

Yeah apparently you want to overwrite your data instead of deleting it.

Though have you seen just how many food descriptions are in ASOIAF (Game of Thrones books)? GRR Martin loves a good food description.

Yeah it's so weird to me that the US toilet water is so high. I imagine there's a valid reason for it, but it's a very foreign concept to me

"Do you have any games on your phone?"

We just need to change one field into an array, so that users can be linked to more than one location.

We estimate around 400 hours work.

Connect for Lemmy does that, and it also has a UI rather similar to RIF. As another RIF refugee, this is by far my favourite Lemmy frontend

Does all of this ring true for anybody else without diagnosed ADHD? Because this is exactly how I feel constantly but I also hate to self-diagnose based on internet discussion.

I feel like ADHD is one of those things where everybody relates to it a bit, so it's hard to know if I should look into getting a diagnosis.

I really appreciate games like Dishonored, where you have massive levels to explore but they're still very tailored experiences, and each level gives you something brand new.

My one gripe with Dishonored is that the way runes, bone charms and money (the main upgrade materials) work encourages you to explore every nook and cranny of each level. While some may like that, I'd prefer to find a fun way to reach my target and then on future playthroughs I could find another dozen completely distinct routes, making every run feel fresh.

That whole second paragraph has nothing to do with your point, I just felt like mentioning it.

Monster-World Hunting

This hunt just went interstellar

I remember once playing XCOM: Enemy Unknown. I was assaulting a medium-sized UFO, and I'd reached the front door.

Hesitant to just run in through the front door, I sent half of my party round, so they could break the wall on the other side and flank the enemies inside.

It took a few turns to maneuver my forces round the side of the UFO, and as I did so, an alien squadron spotted my three guys on the door, and they started blasting. With my flanking team still well out of range, I had to sprint them forward to help - right into even more aliens.

My men got decimated. Six turned into four, then three, until only two men remained against well over a dozen dangerous aliens. And so remain they did. Thomas Bassoon and Eduardo Garcia were immortalized as legends that day, as they fought off multiple alien squads with just the two of them.

When XCOM 2 rolled around, with a notable time skip, these were the two soldiers I grandfathered in. Two veterans, here to fight the aliens once more.

Side note: In the tutorial for XCOM: Enemy Unknown, your squad of four is scripted to only have one survivor. Eduardo Garcia was that survivor.

Yeah I think you need a centralized system with decentralized ownership, so that no single party can fuck it up by themselves

I only just switched over to firefox + UBO on my phone, and it's so much better. I had just assumed that the beautiful ad-free experience I get on my PC wasn't available on phone, but by jove it is.

I genuinely feel so bad for US students. Why do student loans have any interest at all, or at least such a high interest rate.

It's just such a terrible system that fucks over anybody trying to get an education, unless they can pay it off with Daddy's money or be one of the few that gets a high enough paying job that it doesn't cripple you.

I have a $70,000 loan but thankfully I live in a country with 0% student loans interest (unless you move away to another country to live), so it means I can essentially ignore it and pay 10% of my income into it for the next decade or so and then it'll be gone, whereas I've heard of people in the US paying many thousands of dollars in a year and only seeing their loan go up.

The Genophage was right, and you and paragon Shepherd can go suck some morally uptight bollocks.

Even when I'm playing paragon, I will generally go renegade options when the Genophage is involved, since I wholeheartedly believe it was the correct choice.
