Like 15 years ago I bought the cheapest Brother laser printer. It's still going strong. The ink never dries out or fucks up. I've never felt like the company was trying to rape my asshole. Why anyone still plays the ink jet game I do not fuckin know. I've boycotted HP decades ago and to this day I continue to see reasons to never change that decision.

It's not a free lunch. It's just your taxes going to something you actually benefit from.

Because GIF is horrible for 90% of what it's used for these days.

I joined the great resignation to pursue a freelance art career. I'm excited but also terrified I'll just be another starving artist. At least I don't have to wake up at 6am anymore.

That's not an Android problem, that's a Google Play Services problem. You can run Android without all the Google bullshit.

This has happened to me the last two years on Amazon with Prime Day and Cyber Monday.

I'll have a few expensive items on my wishlist that I'm monitoring and holding out on for a sale, only to see the price go up right before the sale.

I used to spend hundreds during those sales but after getting shat on for two years I no longer participate. All their marketing hype is wasted on me because I simply don't believe them anymore. Amazon has lost my trust.

That's not a requirement for everyone. And I don't mind paying someone for their efforts.

Can anyone recommend some good Android map apps that use this? I would love to switch!

I honestly don't miss reddit anymore. For a bit there it seemed like Lemmy was lacking in content. That's no longer the case. Even better is there is less low effort bullshit to sift through to find said content. I don't want more recent users to come over. We've got the good ones already. Let the rest stay where they are.

I had to program my first computer for it to do anything.

Sadly, most people have no grasp what that even means. I've had adults think that means I "downloaded something into the computer" and then it worked.

It was around that time I just stopped talking to anyone outside of my geek circle about anything technical. Best to play dumb.

You don't think Meta, Google etc are passing data to the American government?

PCVR is where the high quality games are. Quest and Pico do have quite a few gems now though!

It is in California, which is where reddit is based.

Yes. Also you'll likely have less lag.

I've had to take someone to the ER after losing a toy in her. An ambulance ride seems like an unnecessary expense unless there's like something broken in there.

Fuck that I'ma just keep scrolling. If they want their community to grow they should at least put in the minimum effort of a description.

Another cool feature is you can spoof your device's name. This can allow you to install apps that daddy Google does not approve of for your device.

When they found out that a contractor was using prison slave labor after looking into a significant number of defects, they were cool with it, business as usual.

discuss.online has been great. It's small, fast and in the US where I live.

I'm also on lemmy.world but it's slow with a lot of down time.

I'm also on a few others for redundancy and reasons.

Virtual Reality and related subs are pretty small/nonexistent here still.

Renfield was hilarious in an Army of Darkness kind of rediculous horror way. If that's your thing.

Same. In fact I tried to find alternatives but there just wasn't one at the time.

I'd love options to disable the Tap to Hide feature, and have Make Text Selectable always on.

This is currently my daily driver. Awesome work!

I think it was already confirmed that reddit paid for five star reviews a couple of weeks back.

Only if a google search takes me there. I have no way or desire to view reddit otherwise.

A) Most companies jumping on the AI bandwagon are training their own models.

B) The music industry has been legally using samples to create new songs since the 90's.

AI is here to stay.

I tried them once and that was the end of that.

I tuned out when she said AI doesn't create anything new.

Yes please! Google Maps (the app, not so much the data) gets worse with every update.

Why would I want an inferior device?

Somebody from VRChat needs to get in here

I'm not sure what that's even suppose to mean

I wish I could upvote you multiple times! This is the most accurate and well explained explaination of the current state of things. You nailed it about the assets too.

Add to that, the way they are damned is typically by flickering them off and on aka Pulse width modulation. This is super common in LED strips.
