This reaction doesn't come from the last tweet itself, instead it comes from him not stopping with hot takes and not showing any signs of slowing down.
If he keeps going, I could see companies just accepting "it is what it is" and coming back, but at the same time it also feels like he's one tweet away from going too far for most companies. The John Oliver thing was so dumb. Like, so what? Doesn't matter if you're posting John Oliver as a protest, you're still using the platform on a sub that allows advertisement.
The only thing that could actually go anywhere was making the subs NSFW, since those will actually hurt Reddit's finances, but obviously they forced the subs to revert and most easily gave up.

As a piece of software, nothing. It’s an open source browser, and has an added bonus of having many privacy settings on by default. Not even firefox can say the same, it comes with telemetry, pocket and whatnot out of the box.
But there are some fair criticisms about the company and its administration. For example, there was an incident years ago when you signed on a crypto exchange, it would swap the sign on link for their own referral link. They claimed this was an error and quickly patched it, but I don’t buy it.
You’ll quickly notice that a lot of people on lemmy passionately hate brave. So expect a strong bias and, as a result, truths but overblown, half truths and misinformation. Don’t ignore what they say but double check them.

Windows 10 and 11 pretty much work in any hardware I've used. The last time I had driver issues was on windows 7, like 10 years ago.
These people are one of these 2: either they're being dishonest, or they are admitting they don't know how to install an OS that holds your hand so much that even my grandma could do it.

- adguard extension for safari, for general browsing
- video lite app for youtube, or any other video playing website. It's a browser disguised as video player, but it's really well done, feels like I'm using the oficial youtube app

When I had an Note 10 Lite, I had a xiaimi smart band. I still think that it's impressive for the price, but the little guy had issues left and right with any app that wasn't xiaomi's own apps. (although sometimes, even those had issues)
Then I got an iphone, and later a apple watch. It just works, even with third party apps. Expensive as hell though

There are adblockers extensions for iphone, like adGuard. It will remove ads on Safari (doesn't work with other browsers unfortunately)
I don’t have a habit of sharing identifiable information on the internet, but that goes doubly true here.
While using another instance, the one with the bee theme, I deleted a comment that I made sometime sooner. Out of curiosity I checked that same thread from the other instances, and there was one where my comment was still showing up.
Now, that comment wasn’t anything special. I said something wrong and found out later, so I deleted it.
But what this means is that, if I share something I shouldn’t, I don’t trust that every instance will delete my comment.

Games that are usually criticized by this, also tend to be games that sell really well. Think Sony exclusives like Uncharted, TLoU, etc.
Some of the most beloved games by the communities are also story heavy, like Bioshock, Mass Effect, System Shock, etc. These games I mentioned have passable gameplay even when they were released, case in point, whenever you talk with someone about these games, they won't talk about the gameplay, they will talk about the twists, the characters, etc.
Then there are games that are the antithesis to this post: interactive movies and visual novels. Quantic Dream's games (detroit become human, heavy rain, etc) despite all their faults, sold well. Telltalle's put their foot in the industry with the first season of The Walking Dead, and they would still be in business today if it wasn't for their one trick pony game design and biting more than they could chew. Visual novels tend to be in the grey area and some people argue they aren't games at all, but some do feature gameplay, and people don't play those for the gameplay I can promise you that.
I do share the opinion that many publishers & studios in the gaming industry have the wrong idea that they need to be like the movie industry and have cinematic games. They don't. But the demand for those types of games exist too

Actually, it does have extensions. You can download them through app store in both iOS and Mac OS.
But it is more limited compared with chromium and firefox environment, and most known extensions in those don't exist for safari, although there are usually alternatives with other names

No, you can take your own BAT out and sell it. It's been some time but I believe they have a function to sell directly on an exchange. Else, you'll need to buy Ethereum and use it to transfer to any other exchange

Sometimes in some websites I would have unexpected behaviours with firefox. In a government website, some features would straight up not work.
Maybe things changed in the last few years, but there you go why I tend to stick with chromium based browsers
They do that, but not in that way. The websites will appear without ads, but once in a while their ad will pop up in a new window/tab. This is optional though

4, 5 and 6, Lutris and later Steam itself when I was running out of ideas, and yes it does run on Linux as long you can figure out the correct proton/wine version or buy the game from Steam. Point here was that gaming on Linux can be convenient or very annoying, depending on the games you want to play. YMMV

I don't get why many players didn't changed their minds at the second part of the game, it's so obvious that the real bad people are Ellie and Joël. Theres no problem about having sympathy for bad guys, but you must keep your critical mind.
I think one of the points of the story was that there aren't bad guys (or everyone is a bad guy, depends on how each person decides to see it). Joel was selfish for wanting to protect Ellie, Ellie was selfish for wanting revenge, and Abby went through with her revenge despite being begged not to. It's miserable story with miserable characters, there are no good guys.
As for why so many players didn't change their minds, imo it's due to several factors but I mainly blame pacing. The cut-out at the middle of the game, at a climax moment no less, into a new story that takes around 12 hours, turned off a lot of people. I can see people not giving Abby a chance due to her story starting at an inopportune moment, after being invested in Ellie for around 10-12 hours.
I don't think it would fix all issues, especially because communities about hating TLoU2 and/or Abby popped up before the game came out (and they still exist after 3 years (jesus christ)), but I can see Abby being less hated if her story was presented differently.
Anyway, about the actual topic of the post, mine would be Pip from South Park. His only crime was that the other characters were far more interesting than him, so he was overshadowed. But somehow, it looks like some people actually hate him, even Trey Parker. Poor kid lol

If you have an old nvidia card, you're going to have issues with some games. BF4 for example, no matter what you do you will have lag and stutter
There's wayland and lack of support for nvidia cards, and major distros and GUI's dropping x11 in favour of wayland (regardless of whose fault it is or if it's good or bad in grand scheme of things, whoever has an nvidia GPU is going to be forced to use other distros or windows)
And then the whole proton and wine stuff... I just installed CoD 2 and had to fetch some commands in order for it to run, else it crashed after playing the first cut scene. And then there are other games, like Divinity dragon commander, that I couldn't figure how to get it to run. Tried several proton versions, none of them launched the game. My fault or ignorance? Perhaps, but on windows it would run first try.
Can't tell if this is a shitpost or not
