Python, it's pretty simple and I am pretty dumb.

I recently bought a ds lite in a second hand store and found that game to be one of the most fun ones. Scribblenauts is also quite fun.

Less mines is always better than more.

Factorio is a Linux native game and some of the nicest people I have ever met online I have met through that game. It doesn't fit your last criteria but you often see people again if you play on the same servers.

I'm pretty new to gaming on Linux, does this work better than downloading steam and running proton?

I pick either what I find interesting, what is recommended to me or what is relevant at the moment.

The second one, forbidden west, is good too. But I find the world building and architecture of Meridian and the surrounding towns very interesting and very beautiful in many ways. I think I prefer the first one, the mechanics got changed a bit and I don't really like that you can just fly everywhere in the second one.
