Is it like Team Fortress Classic (work or school)?

This was a Discord dumpster fire that was thankfully put out months ago.

Hyprland is incredible and hopefully there won’t be any more trouble like this

What proton version are you using? I think shader cache updates go inline with proton version updates so I’d you’re on experimental or bleeding edge you’ll get more updates

The new UI is not great but neither was the old one.

The devs put out a video to address the complaints https://youtu.be/ovMwwccxMLM?feature=shared

The updates to the game itself in terms of graphical fidelity, audio and the new map are incredible but that’s just been ignored by the majority of the horde who are tunnelling on “UI bad”

Hunt Showdown is on offer at the moment. It’s quite a learning curve but once you get the hang of it it’s fantastic. I’ve clocked 2.4k hours and it’s still got me hooked

Shame it’s android only

Looks like another unreleased game called Unrecord

What’s the multi monitor support like on mac’s running Linux?

Same. I had to lower some settings to get the same performance as the old engine. I imagine there will be room for optimisation on the new map/engine

Here’s one I’d forgotten about. This live version is really nice (slow starter)

Crippled Black Phoenix - Burnt Reynolds

I second this but after getting Hyprland setup to my liking I don’t think I’ll ever go back to gnome or kde

Why would it?

This is the first time it’s happened in 9 months since it was enabled

I just prefer an open source Linux/community supported OS so my handheld won’t be left to die like my old Nvidia Shield Portable.

I’m not dissing Retroid devices but the Android only thing puts me off buying one

Good luck to them. I’ve been very much enjoying Fedora since Windows 11 came out.

Take your pessimism elsewhere. I have faith in the Hunt devs

I’ve played the Lynx version most out of these and it’s probably my most played game on the various retro handhelds I’ve owned. Especially BMXing I just love it

I did the same thing last week on Fedora 40 with the latest kernel at the time. Everything went fine.

Had to fiddle with bios settings to get the performance out of the cpu/memory

Also worth noting there’s a delay in boot with no feedback on screen initially where the memory is tested/trained. That blank screen made me panic a bit

I’m using regular Fedora 40 workstation with Gnome

If you enable the update testing repo you can just install “stable” hyprland using dnf.

I’d say the tricky part of config at the start is getting your monitors setup but you can use ‘hyprctl monitors’ to list the monitors and get the ids. The documentation/wiki is really good

Once you’ve got it installed you can logout of gnome and select hyprland from the cog on the login screen.

If you want the git release of hyprland you can use this Copr https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/solopasha/hyprland/

Other stuff I use Rofi for launching apps Hyprpaper for wallpapers Waybar-git for the bar Kitty for terminal

Nice! have fun.

I’d definitely avoid downloading other people’s hyprland dot files. Most are over complicated.

Just keep it simple to fit your needs

noice! I just switched to using Fuzzel yesterday.

Hmm ok i see it in the browser but not in the Mlem app

It’s a distribution of Linux. Everything I was running on windows works pretty much the same minus the annoying shit that Microsoft brings to their OS

They did shake up the economy but it was nothing serious. There were a bunch of cry babies like this on Reddit and discord.

At the end of the day you only need Blood Bonds to buy some legendary weapons/hunter/tool skins which are purely cosmetic and have nothing to do with the main game loop.

Some skins/cosmetics can also be earned in game without using premium currency.

I bought most DLC and blood bond skins because they cool and I want to support a game I love

2400 hours of fun for the €20 I paid for Hunt is damn good value

Hmm why do I not see an image/link here?

This happened to new do I switched to Codium and never looked back

Hunt works great on Linux I believe the rating is Gold now. It’s my go to game with 2.4k hours. I first went with a dual boot setup with win10 and fedora keeping windows because Hunt EAC wasn’t supported. As soon as it was I tried it out and ran into the early blobby texture issues. This was fixed by a proton update. Since then it’s been working well. I finally ditched windows this week just as the new Steam UI was released which introduced the first issue I’ve ran into(crashing when opening the overlay) which notably impacts CSGO too so should be fixed pretty quick.

I can’t speak for content creation

But Nick does alright https://mastodon.social/@thelinuxEXP

Virtiofs is very good

Reload bug was very annoying but it was fixed in that last patch.

Mouse on Mars - Niun Niggung

Ok yeah I did have both to start with but that was early days. I’ll give Memmy another go

It took me a few attempts to get into them. Firstly the name just put me right off soo I dismissed them. Then I got desperate for something new to listen to and decided to give them a go. That was when I realised how many albums they’ve released over the last few years. It’s pretty overwhelming when you just want to do your toe in. What did it for me was watching a few of the KEXP sets on YT. They can really play!

The microtonal stuff is probably my favourite along with some of the more jam based tracks

Thanks for the giveaway! BTW someone already took Mordhau

I don’t think there will ever be a perfect OS or hardware in this marketplace. Everyone is chasing a white whale. I’ve been doing it since the GP32x and I’d buy every damn device that came out if I didn’t have some rules for myself.

I’ve currently got the Miyoo Mini which is great but a bit too tiny for me. So I went and got the MM+ which seems perfect for now at least…….

Private video

Been using it for a few months. Best to stay off the hyprland-git branch for now because there’s some big changes going on that broke a few things. The main problem is Hyprland has ruined other DEs and window managers for me now it’s so good

If you use separate disks there shouldn’t be any issues.

Out of morbid curiosity I just installed Windows 11 on a spare ssd alongside my main Fedora install. All I had to do was re-add the Fedora disk to first in the boot order and rebuild the grub config with os-prober enabled to add the windows install to grub

No issues apart from Windows 11 being horrible

The review bomb was really stupid. There are multiple channels for feedback and anyone who’s been around long enough knows the Hunt devs do listen to the community (perhaps too much sometimes)

Review bombing should be a last resort and all it’s done here is probably put a bunch of prospective new players off trying the game during the free weekend

Oh no

Come to the bayou and play Hunt Showdown you’ll never leave
