It looks pretty weird. The colors were a signture Google Maps feature.

Passkeys. They'll probably improve eventually but I feel like right now it's a mess.
On Android you are forced to use the default implementation, only in 14 and above can you use password managers for them.
On desktop it's somewhat less messy but you can use the system storage or a password manager extension. Some sites only let you use them for 2FA, some full login, some can't be put in a password manager from my experience and so on.
Just a mess right now.
Sure your DOB & address were leaked, but don't worry your password is safe.
Ability to controls technology with my mind.
OnePlus is a joke. I've have had multiple issues with their software (thankfully not hardware yet). From Google Pay breaking to unfinished English translations and even removing (or messing with) features on updates. And other people online have had worse. I'll probably just spend the money on some other company next time.
It took a few weeks to get used to it and a few more to get comfortable, but now I don't think I can go back. Before when I messed up, I would keep repeating the mistake until I was forced to slow down. Now I can get 40-50 WPM when I try.
I do miss some things but they really aren't deal breakers:
Navidrome, as a music server. It's very convenient to have a central place to host your music.
My biggest issue is that it doesnt't support multiple artists yet.
Jolly Image Format
A better title would probably be "When may Android 14 come to my Pixel phone?".
I fail to understand how
Yep, I also have one to automaticlly stop the annoying autoplay on channel pages.
Reminds me of that story were someone apparently had a document with Sesame Street nicknames for everyone, and almost got fired before the owners intervined.
It was only in a container on a Chromebook, but I'll share it anyway. One time, I had installed Android Studio but found it mildly annoying that I got a line when using apt about Android Studio and some error on a certain line of this one file. I believe the file was something related to dpkg, and after changing some things within the file, I seemed to have broken apt. Luckily, I had a backup, but it was a few days old, so I had to reinstall some apps.
Just a few, mostly prominent people from the OpenStreetMap community that I recognize by their username/profile picture.
Sometimes I also tend to see my instance admin sometimes, but it's more rare.
Used to do the same thing, but I eventually learned to memorize it as "environ-ment"
Not sure if it counts, but I'll share it anyways.
I use a chromebook which has two Linux containers running on it. One of them I'm experimenting with learning Docker and possibly selfhosting some things there. Only running one thing right now, and it seems to be going fine.
The other container is my main Linux "install", which has all my apps like Inkscape, VSCode, Kdenlive, etc. The container uses a mix of nix, flatpak, and apt for installing things, which I do want to try and consolidtae eventually.
Probably not the weirdest of them all, but I do think it's pretty cool to run all this on a chromebook.
Not all phones have it I believe. For example, OnePlus just removed one day with an update when they switched to using a ColorOS skin.
Even though I don't have Prime, Amazon's moves are making other sites more attractive. Walmart has been pretty good recently, offering 2-3 day shipping at no additional cost in my experience, along with a better app UI/UX. Now that Amazon has upped the minimum for free shipping, the only edge it holds over Walmart is the wider selection.
All the stuff I write is personal tools anyways so I do the same. They're small anyways.
So the TLDR seems to be:
Might help me move to Firefox eventually now that there's more than just the few from before. Not many things keeping me back compared to before.
Yeah, the official way from what I understand is basically a container running inside a VM (with multiple containers behind a flag). They run Debian, but I believe there are tutorials for other OS's if you want to try.
I've also heard of people who just replace chromeos with a Linux install, but I think that puts you at more risk of bricking your device.
Marp might also work. I believe it's a bit more limited but it is simpler. I think it may also pe based on Revealjs
Same thing here, except with a one extra number:
"raspberrypi5"
Yep, StreetComplete is one of the many editors for OpenStreetMap! Just to name a few:
Mobile (Android & iOS Mixed):
Desktop:
And many more! There's a list on the OpenStreetMap wiki.
Probably something among the lines of water runoff and cleaning chemicals in said water (Powerwashing Simulator)
I actually did try it! Though I don't use numbers enough to justify the smaller hitboxes for the letters so I went back.
I think this is a built in part of Android (or Google Services?) now. Have the feature on the original Pixel and on a OnePlus.
Have the Mastodon variant and it works great!
Looks interesting! Might give it a go later to check it out.
It has already shown up for me and I don't really mind. The only thing I do on YouTube now is look up a creator and watch a video I want based on my Newpipe feed.
They're already doing that with MDN. Hopefully it doesn't happen to the browser.
Wonder if/when they'll update the color picker (on Android)
Only some brands have this. You could try looking for an OCR app but it might have privacy implications depending on which you choose.
It actually bundles answers to a certain quest together if I remember correctly. For example, all road surface quests within a certain time (about an hour?) are grouped into one change set. Though if you did one road surface quests and one opening hours quests they would uploaded as two separate change sets.
Yeah, thankfully all my issues have been all software so far for me.
