Jesus Christ, that's horrific.

Holy shit, that article outlines an incredible level of incompetence, dear lord ...

Interestingly, I imagine this man would not even get basic security clearance with this level of debt and high risk of being manipulated (by others offering to pay debt). Yet he's still a candidate for president, interesting....

It's literally the worst thing you can do in a democracy. Allow your representatives manipulate/be manipulated by the stock market

Which vpn have you found to work in china? Nord used to but doesn't any more

I had no idea about the differences with h264 / 265.

Interesting article to skim here for the uninitiated https://www.techspot.com/article/1131-hevc-h256-enconding-playback/

I moved out when I was 18, so cant give you lived experience. But in my opinion I don't think there's an age you need to move out, but there's definitely an age where I think you need to be equally contributing.
Financially I think it's important to contribute to utility cost. If your dad rents I think it's only fair you pay your fair share there too. If he owns then potentially a smaller monetary value as hell retain the asset. Domestically I think it's important you not only contribute, but also lead some domestic chores.

It's reasonable to expect your dad to do the lion's share when you were growing up, now you're an adult I think it's only fair to lift some of that burden from him.

You would presume that the partner of a BP exec would have sufficient household income. Apparently not..

Unfortunately, valid comment.

I think you're confused. I said I don't know if you missed a /s or not. Meaning that the quote you posted seems outlandish, but there is unfortunately plausibility it's true.

I disagree, you can't expect everyone to be technologically literate enough to understand the consequences of everything. And you can't palm it off by saying "well they need to/should". Much like expecting people to understand and read every single EULA that everyone always scrolls down and hits "accept" At some point legislation needs to be drafted yo make it very clear the consequences, or legislate to ensure privacy so companies can't do this.

I'm currently in a country that has controlled internet. As a result I often can't see external links or news articles...

I'm not sure if you missed a /S and that's concerning

Excellent, thank you.

At the cost of likely downvotes

women must wear Islamic clothes, can't go to school for long, can't go out alone, etc etc

As an outsider, this is literally what I expect America to be like in 10 years

That's a lot of money for not many people. What's the general consensus about it ? I'd be curious if perhaps they paid half of the student debt, or forced a 0% interest rate or something if that would still make a difference without such a huge sum of moolah

How strange.. Thanks for letting me know! :)

Are you saying your quote was factual?

You'd think that.. it sunk the Australian government when they tried to implement it 10-15 yrs ago

I was looking at the later number 138b for 3.9m people. That's nearly 35k per individual?

Yeah, some other systems are government backed loans that are 0% interest but rise with CPI (inflation) yearly. It sounds like there needs to be some significant regulation around the US study loan process

Holy shit, there's a whole bunch of people doing some real tea leaf shit here attempting to read far too deep in to your post. I agree, I'm currently abroad in a completely different culture, but you know what. I eat, sleep and poop. Sure there's other shit around the side, but the structure of the day is the same. Theres no magical "aha" moment / key. Life is simple (for those able to see beyond tomorrow), it is what you make of it.

Working as a nurse I'd imagine you'd have governance documents or procedure documents written by your organization. Just use those to reference back to, that should cover a semi-decent portion of your nursing role. Id imagine most nurses would cool their jets at that 8-10 month mark for routine care and then when you've got new grads they'll have someone else to focus on?

That's a very simple process, I'm sure people would be more than happy to do that on available vehicles.

I moved to England a week after I finished my last exam. I stayed with my brother for a few months then moved to an apartment above my work. I was making £4.50 an hour and working huge hours. I ate once a day which was rice with a can of soup mixed in. I wasn't living the high life, but it was good times.

Edit: I lived a very tight life for a long time . I've since gone and studied then progressed quite well in my career. I live in the regions now, and rent is around $900 USD a month which is fairly achievable in our area

If that's the case, that's understandable. It's always going to be a game of cat and mouse, so Id expect it's quite an expensive market to break in to.

Is there any change in the future? Say 5 years from now, will people still get their loans forgiven, or is this only a snapshot payment ?

Eh, I wouldn't classify a phone as a luxury good. Id also say a non-cheap EV is more like 50-60 times a phone. But there's definitely a gap in society for those that can buy new cars, let alone new EVs

Ehh, these summary bots aren't great...

I would have agreed with you re: reduction in gum chewers. But it looks like most forecasting documents and historical trends demonstrate growth in consumption. Granted I've only had a quick lookm https://www.databridgemarketresearch.com/reports/global-chewing-gum-market

It's not an apple with apple comparison though. People are willing to pay a higher price for EV when factoring in reduced maintenance costs, charging and ?? environmental benefit.

That's not how it works, especially before they reach a consensus / theory. But anyway.

I've been considering switching to Linux, but did you say Firefox takes 30 seconds to start? Is that standard? Edit: what a strange bunch you are to downvote a random question.

Unfortunately there was a bit of hysteria around 5G, but I would personally prefer more research be conducted on the safety of 5G before mass implementation. There's enough research out at the moment saying that more research needs to be conducted, but there's a potential for adverse outcomes.
