I used to grab anything I could to read when taking a shit. Even reading shampoo bottle labels. Now I'm here typing this mess to you guys as I take a dump.

I did it a week ago and it was just a case of passing through the video card. I came across a lot of guides and they were all in the CLI. I assume things have improved or maybe it differs per card. I was just using onboard graphics from an N100 CPU.

A fan made mod.

Not to take anything away from them but other than not being on an official YouTube channel I did think this was a brand new game given it says 'official'. A bit deceiving.

I started dual booting to Arch Linux and more often than not I boot more now into Linux than Windows 11. I've used Windows since 3.11. Microsoft really have fucked Windows recently.

We’ve also given passkeys and passwords equal priority so that you can use them interchangeably in our apps. This means you can store, share, and export passkeys just like you can with passwords.

Fuck Apple.

Regardless. Fuck what Reddit has become. I really hope that people will see the light and move to Lemmy.

It seems no matter what new advancements we make in technology the big tech companies seek nothing more to implement it in a way that benefits themselves. Regardless if it means fucking over the consumer.

I really hate what the internet has become over the last couple of years.

When there is a 2. Just know it will be the last Deck ever. We all know Valve can't count to 3.

Personally, the Pixel 5 was the perfect size and weight for a phone.

No bulky cameras. No thick chassis. No glass adding pointless weight. Very usable as a one handed device. Symmetrical bezels.

Hell I like you. You can come over to my house and fuck my sister

I'm out of the loop. What am I looking at?

Edit

So the original post has finally updated with an explanation. I'm an Android user so that icon doesn't mean anything to me.

That's always been my argument. Updates for the OS or even apps in Google Play should be presented immediately if the user is doing a manual check for updates. Sure, continue the staged rollouts, but only for those who are updating automatically.

The check for updates button has been working fine for a few years now but as of this month my Pixel 8 is still on the November patch. My wife's Pixel 6 is on the December patch after I did a manual check on her phone. Frustrating.

Have you configured your OS to use a higher refresh rate in monitor settings? The difference is night and day...

I almost skipped the PS4 generation but got a PS4 Pro. As a result I had a huge catalogue of PS4 games to play and all at a decent price as they had been out for a while.

I was so impressed with the PS4 I purchased the PS5. Honestly the best thing about the PS5 is Astros Playground. Outside of that I'm just playing a remastered or patched PS4 game. The PS5 has been bitterly disappointing.

14 years ago my wife hired me an Aston Martin DB9 for a weekend as it was my favourite car. Absolutely loved it. That said it wasn't a car I'd like for every day use. It was a hard ride and the heat from the engine came into the cockpit. My legs felt like they were on fire.

Supercars are usually great to play in but for day to day absolutely crap. I couldn't take it to the shop as I'd worry about it getting marked. People get jealous and go out of their way to ding nice cars.

I'm sick of reading phones and cars charging in a matter of minutes for the past decade.

Sticking with duck duck go. Not seeing advertising, news or video recommendations based on a one time search in Google is bliss.

I used Edge during beta and upon release. It's a decent browser. But Microsoft started adding their bloat to it and now just throws it in my face every chance they get. I no longer use Edge as a result.

I stopped using Google late last year and it's pretty eye opening how much freer I feel now. Previously, any searches I made would follow me around. Make a one time search for something I'd see that being advertised later on. As a result I started searching more using private browsing. I'd often forget though and end up being tracked.

Ultimately switching to Firefox and DuckDuckGo I no longer have to do private searches. No more being followed around the internet.

Also I'm not convinced private browsing works. For example I still use it for YouTube but I noticed despite YouTube not knowing who I am, the videos on the home page include some that are very related to my usual videos. I guess they are using IP's to still deliver relatable videos.

We looked after a cafe who had a couple of PC's to use that gave internet access. Yes this was a while ago, way before smartphones and wifi. The PC's had some software that allowed internet access for a set duration based on how long they had purchased. This software was managed by an NT4 Server backend.
The owner called one day to say nothing works. When I got there, NT4 has been wiped and replaced with Windows 98. Apparently one of the university student baristas was asked to help when they had an issue. The owner was trying to save money from calling us out. Fixing this mess was way pricier than whatever was wrong previously!

I've never had prime. Whenever I look at Amazon now it's basically a local AliExpress with loads of cheaply made Chinese stuff. Amazon is not cheap anymore either. eBay is always cheaper.

This community is very much a "Windows bad" community. I personally find that annoying as I use Windows and Linux. Both have their pros and cons. Windows though is seen here as the shitest OS out there which far from the truth.

PowerShell is amazing and I install it on my Linux desktop.

It blows my mind every time I see Stardew Valley. Singlehandedly wrote the story, characters, the music, effects, coded the game etc. Simply stunning.

I still prefer Chrome over Firefox but I've been running Firefox for over a year now and won't go back to Chrome because fuck Google. Also stopped using Google for searching and not being tracked is very very noticeable.

I don't get where OP is going with this either?

I'm not using Reddit since the whole API stuff got closed. However I posted something to get some tech help on a specific service online. Despite being nothing wrong with my post it was getting down voted. The mod perked up and said it's just Reddit and just get used to it. No thanks.

I miss the amount of content that would make me laugh but I don't miss the utter dickheads that reside there. I'm sticking with Lemmy.

Sony did something similar for me for my PS3. It was out of warranty and the drive stopped reading Blu-ray discs. CDs worked fine. I couldn't find the receipt to see how old it was but contacted them anyway. They said can I find an old bank statement or something to see if it is still in warranty. The only thing I found was it showed up in the loyalty points of the game shop I got it from. They accepted this as enough proof however the unit was out of the standard warranty. They said they will still accept it. They sent out a postal guy with a thick plastic box with foam insulation with a replacement PS3 in it. He took away my broken PS3. Great! All free of charge. I was well happy. Then a week later a letter arrived and contained the SD card that I accidentally left in my old PS3.

Sony went the extra mile here. Very happy with the outcome.

Loved the Pi for hosting small services around the house. I've just replaced my Pi4 with a N100, 16GB, 512GB SSD mini pc which is so much faster, not to mention cheaper than a Pi5.

I liked Edge whilst it was in beta. It was just another browser. Now it's a browser caked with Microsoft services so they do their best to try to get you to use it. Even Outlook now opens links in Edge, yes ignoring your default browser settings, unless you go into Outlook and unconfigure it. Fuck off Microsoft.

OP is just wanting to shit on Windows because this is a Linux community.

What happened to the ad blocker detection thing a month ago. Did Google remove it or does uBlock Origin have a permanent workaround now rather than needing to clear cache and reload?
