It really was weirdly good.

.... And there's no place like home

Fully left Reddit. Hate that they killed Sync so bounced. Don't miss it at all.

The flip side is Lemmy is meh. Every damn post is Linux shilling. We get it. Lemmy users like Linux. At least Sync works on this site.

Ultimately, I guess I just don't care about either site. I just want something to mindlessly browse for a few minutes every day when I'm shitting, and Lemmy is fine.

We're no better here. Lemmy has its own brand of cringe.

Wildly irrelevant to the post, but man that was a good read. Carry on.

No requests. Just like to say you're a good bloke for wanting to lift others when you're down. God speed mate

I've seen Confederate flags flying off the backs of pick up trucks on the west coast of Canada... Amazing how stupid people can be

1080p and 4k isn't really a fair comparison for great earbuds and shit earbuds in my opinion. The comparison there is like 4k and 480p. There is a massive difference between the 2. I have had $30 earbuds that you couldn't listen to a podcast on, and I currently have $250+ Bose earbuds that are fucking amazing for just about everything.

Unless of course you're saying that these earbuds are in fact "1080p" quality. In which case, fair point. I have yet to see someone who's actually used these and commented on the sound quality though. What I've seen from fairphone products is they are consumer friendly at the expense of quality.

Agree. The amount of people doom saying, massively blowing things out of proportion, or having victim complexes is out of control. If you got all your news from Lemmy, you'd think society as we know it is about to collapse.. or at least American society.

Reddit has a lot of downfalls, but at least it was diverse and the memes were better.

Here's my highly specific (hypocritical) advice:

Don't take advice from Reddit or Lemmy on any important matter. You don't know these people, and they don't know you. Some people have good ideas. Most don't. The ability to think for yourself and determine what's best for you is the best skill you can have. A review from Lemmy or Reddit on a product is fine. Life advice from internet strangers is almost always garbage.

Here's some more highly specific meta advice: Change your socks every day. What the fuck people..

For whatever it's worth, and whoever reads this, I've had extensive buffering issues with Vanced/Revanced for months. Recently purged the MicroG and vanced software, and reinstalled the Revanced Extended, and it works flawlessly!

The grass is not greener on the other side. The grass is greener where you water it.

Tell us how you really feel, I feel like you're holding back.

I'm scared of dipping my toes in this batshit crazy thread, but why is supporting genocide a win-win for Canadians?

Wikipedia rabbit holes

Just my 2 cents, but those are devs that should be supported if possible.

I did. Once sync was out it was a pretty easy transition. I just wanted an app to scroll mindlessly for a couple minutes a day, and Lemmy does the job. The content stream is a lot slower, but for low usage users like myself, it's fine.

That said, from what I've gleaned from other threads, it still seems like most people still use Reddit in some capacity.

Frostpunk. That game gave me anxiety with the tough choices sometimes.

I'm getting whiplash from your logic. You just accused another user of acting like you said tencent had larian on a leash, which we can all agree is not true. Then you go on to say Larian is going to lose its soul when tencent approaches them with a gacha game, as if larian would take them up on this like Tencent has any say in what Larian does.

Also, Hasbro isn't selling DnD. Tencent is attempting to buy adaptation rights to the DnD IP, which may not even be true. By all accounts, WotC is the most profitable division of Hasbro. Sounds like you read another headline and didn't read the article...

Agreed. 2.6 in my location. PNW

Thanks for capitalizing that B

Of course it's going to be a shit take.

Agreed. Lemmy is much worse.

Isn't this stuff Trump also wants?

Maybe an unpopular opinion but I liked DOS2 more than BG3. Not to say I don't love BG3, but I love DOS2

I, too, have been lulled to sleep at night with my headset on by the sounds of my Factorio factory running

Take any steroids as a kid?

Purely anecdotal, and with the caveat that I don't know shit about fuck, but I have a friend who is passively shaky, and it's because he was on steroids for asthma, as he had it really bad when he was younger.

Watching him pack a bowl these days is stressful...

Also listen to that other dude in this thread that mentioned dental hygiene. That's bangin' advice.

The point stands. Vote with your wallet.

Could not possibly agree more. Bought for $90CAD, put in like 20 hours. Didn't enjoy it but kept pressing on hoping it would improve. My morale broke after I finished the sandy place in the west, and then stopped playing.

That's the nail in the coffin for Blizzard games for me.

Thanks for the candid response. I appreciate the honest discussion.

The Phalanx

Maybe they can see you 👀

Weird... I am also Alpharius

Helldivers 2 with friends.

Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. Hadn't played since I was much younger. Forgot how fun it was to kick everyone off ledges.

Binding of Isaac - once I figure out how to get my GOG save file on my partner's PC to sync with my PC...

Total War: Warhammer 3. Played this one on and off. A mod I love just dropped a patch so I'm bad into it for now, until CA fucks something up again.

After seeing all the Canadian flags flying on the back up pick up trucks during covid, I could not possibly agree more. The conservative osmosis bleeding up into Canada, especially Alberta, is quite concerning.

It's still a bad argument. You should be able to have kids and not starve. The fact that people choose no kids and still starve shows how fucked things are. We are all fighting the same fight, though our positions may be different.

To counter this point, the money you would spend on an '89 Corolla plus maintenance would probably be far cheaper than a newer vehicle.

This is purely anecdotal, but I have a few friends that have old Corolla's, and those things just do not die, despite heavy abuse.
