Freedom and flexibility. I can go 3 blocks, 30 minutes or 3000 miles whenever i want. I start in my driveway and end in the parking lot of my destination. I don't have to worry about timing, connections, or how much i need to transport. I can be early, late, go for a 3am snack or start a trip at 4am so i catch the whole day at the mountains.
If Threads wasn't Threads and wasn't part of the Meta ecosystem, and this could be guaranteed to me forever, sure I might use whatever that would be. But that's so far from reality as to be a meaningless question.
Keep in mind that the balloon of blood in this case is being crushed by water. Any blood wouldn't have hit the walls as much as diluted in many gallons of water. Without a chance to deposit and dry, blood doesn't really "paint" things.
I only upgrade every 3-4 years, but there's a lot of subtle differences that make it worth it. For example my current phone is far more reliable with Bluetooth connections than the previous one. It's got a better camera with AI photo touching. It's waterproof. Its fingering sensor is more sensitive and quicker.

I'd host it on AWS (familiarity) so i can scale it as needed.
Ideally they moderate enough to not be removed but gradually and subtly use moderation as a way to drive people away.
If it's a public place and you have legitimate business starting there for a while, I don't see any issue with it. Eg. Doctors waiting room and you have an appointment, restaurant and you're dining there, etc.
If it's someone's private home I'd ask first.
