I'm still curious to see if they go through with the rumors that it'll be subscription based. Honestly kinda dead in the water for me versus just a watch if so

Don't worry, the wendigo that breaks into your car at night to wait for you to return will keep it company :)

Oh that's just The House on Ash Tree Lane. It just does that sometimes

Didn't he also cheat on his wife a while back? What a piece of shit of a human being

A publicly traded company prioritizing consumer satisfaction over short term profits? Learning from their "mistakes" after they still got a shit ton of money for it anyways and probably will if they do it again? I'm not banking on it.

This is where I'm at. Everyone has told me dating at work is a really bad idea. I don't drink so I have no interest in trying to pick up a girl at a bar. And in general I've seen so many girls say they don't like guys approaching them in public.

Like it feels like all that is left is these apps, but girls don't seem to want to meet on there either. It feels like I'm missing something critical here on how to meet a girl at my age and it's frustrating me to no end.

I hope something significant happens because of this, but somehow I just see Apple walking away with a slap on the wrist before continuing to engage in anti-consumer practices like nothing happened

I'm honestly ready to not support Xbox anymore after this. They've been non-stop fumbling the ball with game releases this generation. Hi-Fi Rush was the first game that came out that I felt was phenomenal and such a breathe of fresh air, and they just straight killed the studio anyways. Killing studios that make good games is not how you foster a gaming platform people want to be part of.

2013 Hyundai Elantra here. Despite full synthetic oil changes every 5k miles and new filters every year, my engine has now failed for a second time in 100k miles. The mechanic is telling me it needs a new engine, which is going to basically exceed the value of the car.

But at least it was cheap!

But you can literally buy a cheap android phone for less than this device that does everything it does (and might do some day), maybe even better. Why buy a strange and unfamiliar form factor, when most people are comfortable with a smartphone already? They can just choose not to interact with anything other than the assistant if they really want to, and still be better off.

All is forgiven when he turns around and gives the audience that award winning smile

It feels almost a guarantee they're gonna do something stupid to ruin it somehow, don't you worry about that

Welcome. Welcome to City 17.

For what it's worth, they're trying to fix that with Android 15. Not sure if this is one of the features they'll also be back porting to older phones too like this article briefly touches on, but either way it sounds like if you factory reset the phone, it can't be set up again unless they know your login: https://www.wired.com/story/android-15-theft-detection-lock/

Google says in a blog post, the company is adding four data protection features that can help keep your information locked down. The first stops your phone from being set up after a factory reset, unless the person knows your login details. “This renders a stolen device unsellable, reducing incentives for phone theft,” Google vice president Suzanne Frey writes.

I'm 27. I've been on and off on dating apps for a few years now. Very rarely get matches. Tried all the profile advice. Nothing works. Doesn't help you also have to filter through a sea of girls trying to pump their Instagram followers or OF subs and don't actually care about dating. It just feels like these apps have been nothing but a drain on my mental health with basically nothing to show for it.

Genuinely, this is the best news I've heard in a while for the reasons you listed. Apple is already fucking up the phone industry with anti-consumer policies that become industry trends. I shudder to imagine how deeply and irrepairably they would have fucked up the car market for consumers.

Don't worry, every Hyundai comes pre-installed with anti-theft features in the form of premature engine failure!

I have a ton of assorted ones from over the years. Here's a select few:

  • Play the Wii Shop Theme when I open the Play Store
  • Turn on Samsung's built in Protect Battery feature at night, and automatically turn it off when my alarm goes off in the morning
  • Open Spotify automatically when I connect to my car's Bluetooth
  • Turn on Silent mode when I get close to work and disconnect from my car, and turn it back off when I reconnect to my car's Bluetooth
  • Set my AoD to Tap to Show when I have no notifications, but change it to Always On when I have notifications from apps I mark important
  • Track my earbuds' battery life via a persistent notification when they're connected to my phone
  • React to double tapping volume up when not playing media to toggle the flashlight, and ditto with the volume down to open the camera
  • Clear persistent system notifications that I don't want or care about that otherwise normally won't let you clear them or turn them off (take that Google)

May not be entirely what you're looking for, but my immediate thought is Max0r. His editing style is so insane that I regularly wonder when the mental institute is going to be coming back for him

Paradoxically somehow all with better quality control than actual Hyundai

I'm hoping this means more exposure for Hi-Fi Rush and more odds for a sequel. I loved that game to death

What annoys me is that Google still hasn't opened the API for RCS all these years later. That could at the very least open the possibility of more widespread adoption as a fallback for other apps instead of SMS. But instead they're too busy crying that Apple won't adopt it to actually be bothered to make a unified approach on their own turf. I don't see how they can imagine Apple will want to adopt it when they're keeping it so close to their chests that nobody else is allowed to use it other than basically them and Samsung. It's maddening.

Call me when they somehow fit this on an SD card in another 10 years

Also the process of "enshitification" has already started taking place on reddit due to its popularity.

I started using reddit in 2011. Trust me when I say this isn't a new trend. Reddit's has been noticeably and actively getting shittier since at least 2015 as it continued to get more and more popular

Boost was my app of choice for reddit. Being able to just import all my settings directly from old app makes it feel as if I never truly left

Yeah I don't remember much from the campaign other than the white phosphorus scene and the literal last scene of the game, but I remember having a total blast with the multiplayer for a while. Definitely felt like a really cool combo of CoD and Battlefield

Still really curious to find out if the rumors of it being a battery hog are true. I was set on finally upgrading my Note 20 Ultra to an S25 Ultra, but not if battery life is a mess

Honestly not too familiar with that. I imagine if they're touting this as a new thing, FRP either does something different or was lacking compared to this in some way.

Though it is Google, they could have just killed FRP in favor of this and added messaging features like they do with everything else

I don't know if this will fix it for sure, but you could try to download a VPN app with per-app network blocking (like AdGuard) and fully block Nova from accessing the internet

It's early access out on Epic Games store right now I believe

This. I used to use Tasker and AutoInput to automatically reboot my phone every night. You can train AutoInput to tap on stuff in a sequence. I had Tasker pull up the Power Menu and AutoInput tap the Restart button. You can probably do similar with the Power Off button there

They're not very reliable either, but as long as you get rid of it before the 10 year mark when the warranty on the drivetrain expires, they aren't entirely a bad option if you want something cheap.
