It's worth noting that he recently did the same test, with similar temps, in the EV9 (which is also super inefficient on the highway), and got over the EPA range. IIRC most of his range tests exceed EPA numbers.

I mean whoever she ends up running against in the primaries (or general) will have a field day with "she represented her district so poorly she had to change to ours".

You also need to be careful when deleting your account - when you do, they'll send you a "there was an issue with your request" email that tries to get you to register again by prompting you to "log in" to fix it. The log in is creating a password for a new account.

Might be intentional. If it was closer/less of a drop, it might just become "another handrail" where the "oh shit I don't want to do this" doesn't happen until after you jump off the net. By making it such a big drop, you increase the chances of that realization happening first, and if the net causes an injury, that might also stop the person from making it to the edge of the net and going over.

Basically, by making it a big drop it's become a bigger obstacle, which could increase effectiveness.

Have you looked recently? For the past few years buying new was actually cheaper than buying used, and factoring in manufacturer subsidized interest rates, the difference in the current market still makes new a viable option, unless you're looking at 10+ year old cars (which still start north of $10k these days).

How the hell do y'all remember first grade? I only have the spottiest of memories prior to high school. Heck even that is spotty, just more spots.

So you're saying Hän is Solo?

He didn't accept the 2016 results, so I wouldn't count on it.

My recovery was honestly pretty bad. I was bed-ridden for about 2 weeks, then 8-ish months of aching pain all day every day. Not actually sure when it finally cleared up, I just realized I hadn't felt the pain in a while. My first nut was about a month after the procedure, and that was also a very unpleasant experience.

My case is abnormal, but even more rare is the guys that continue to be in pain for the rest of their lives. Didn't find out about that until I started digging deeper because of my persistent pain.

That said, I still 100% recommend getting it done.

Yeah, at this point don't buy anything on Amazon that you want to be legit.

I need some SD cards, but I'm waiting until I can make a trip to MicroCenter. No way in hell I'd risk ordering on Amazon.

I use Namecheap as my registrar, then split the domain between Adobe for the site (through their CC portfolio builder), and Proton for email. I migrated off Gsuite a while ago, but haven't had any problems since doing so.

I use a CC, so I really don't give a shit if someone steals my number.

Last time my card got skimmed it was $0 and <30 seconds to fix, including hold time. They don't fuck around when you're reporting stolen info, because legally it's their money, not yours.

Discover does it for free, but they only do so on a handful of sites.

I mean, depends on the frozen pizza. 99% of them are worse, but there's one brand I get at wally world for like $7 a pizza that is better than 99% of the pizza I can order (and we have some pretty solid pizza joints around here).

Had to quit getting them though because they're like 6000 kcal.

I've been looking at trying to put down roots around the Great Lakes for future climate and fresh water access reasons.

The anti-EV sentiment has been building much longer than BYD becoming the big boy on the block. About 8 months ago my state passed the equivalent of about a $100 per gallon tax on EV charging.

Beats my state which passed a DC fast charge tax of nearly $3 per kwh while suspending gas taxes.

$120 in taxes per charge for a fairly normal EV. Yay.

Jesus, at $20/mo you would pay for a full set of the (expensive) OEM tires on my car in less than a year. They're warrantied for 3 years of standard mileage, so even worse than double.

He ran his standard test. Most other EVs in this test exceed the EPA range, most notably he recently tested the EV9 (a literal brick) in similar temperatures.

No designers involved, unless you think Elon is a designer. The whole Tesla design studio revolted over having to work on it. They designed something else, which of course Elon refused. I wouldn't at all be surprised if it was engineered so the other option can be swapped in when this one flops.

Another vote for DDG. I honestly didn't realize Google had gone to shit, because I haven't used them for anything in the last 5 years (which is wild for me to think about, because I used to be a huge Google fanboy in the G+/Hangouts/Google Now/Nexus era).

What's the problem with Namecheap? I've been with them since GoDaddy got on the shit list, but I'm not against moving again.

Last time I looked (a few years ago), a 100% coal powered EV had similar emissions to a 60mpg car.

I doubt anywhere will still be coal powered in a decade, with how fast plants are closing. But that EV will still be there on its 3rd owner.

The only French automaker in the US is Bugatti, and it's questionable how French they are.

I'm hoping the Stellantis merger leads to more French cars here. Peugeot, Renault, Alpine, Citroen, and DS all have cars I'd be interested in.

My dad found a rural lot near here where a bunch of dealers are parking inventory so they can still make it look like a shortage. One dealer still has $5k markups last I checked, but also still have the car I looked at ~5 months ago.

I just moved ~30 minutes away and saved $100/mo as well. Insane difference.

Much longer than 12, that's the average age (including new cars). This site says the average lifespan is closer to 17 years.

I just used an online calculator. It said something like 1500 kcal a day for my activity level to maintain weight.

I don't really count calories, but I do look to get a general idea of what a meal or a snack is. Sometimes I'm way over, sometimes I'm way under, it's all about balance and being in the ballpark.

It's a DC charger tax.

Yeah there is a great place near me that does a really, really good double with pimento, chili, fresh onion and jalapeno for around that too. 2 people getting food, a loaded fry (that's actually loaded), and tip is somewhere around $30. I don't see why I would eat at any fast food chain.

Just to note: US chains are significantly better outside the US. I don't eat at chains in the US anymore, they're expensive and I'm pretty sure my shit is more nutritious. Might taste better too.

I mean neither of those is a problem, the problem is that prices aren't adjusting to match.

But housing won't go down because it's become an investment, and cars won't go down because during covid manufacturers learned only selling expensive models increases profit margins.

If anything, high rates are good. They encourage saving and curb consumerism, which are both things Americans at large can use help with.

I averaged in the ballpark of 12 miles a day for over a week when I visited Chicago. Woke up around 9 every day and basically didn't sit until 9-10. I was sore for a while afterwards.

Yeah you can preview this cycle by looking at Cadillac. They were among the first to go touch-only with Cue in the early 2010s, started fading back in physical buttons with new models in the late 2010s, and on their newest models now have a full set of very nice custom buttons not shared from the GM parts bin.

Most EVs he's tested hit or exceed the EPA range on this test. Even bricks like the EV9 exceed their EPA range in similar temps.

Not them, but every tipped job I've had has been skimmed.

Whether to pay the cooks, dishwasher, or just straight pocketed by the owner, I only ever got 50-75% of the tip.

Interesting, Belgium has never really landed on my list of places to look at. Then again, Germany didn't either until I studied there for a while...

Any chance you guys have an Architect shortage? 😅

I think it was only 3 when I first signed up, so that's an improvement. They probably hit the ones most likely to honor takedown requests, but yeah 190 sites is more than 10. $9 is more than $0 too though, so it's a balance.

I wonder how many sites like this actually exist. Probably over a thousand would be my guess.

... By using android automotive and Google apps. The same thing Porsche just announced in this article.

I'm interested to see if that happens to me as I get older.

Right now my policy for trips is "no chains".
