I'm from the US. While I have travelled to locales where they are commonplace, I never actually tried one. When lockdown and the tp crisis started, however, I purchased one online. I now hate having to use any lavatory that doesn't have a bidet.

Q - Doesn't it feel weird? A - No. Some people are worried that it may feel sexual. It doesn't. It's just a localized shower on your ass, which is something you hopefully do regularly.

Q - Won't it just push detritus away from the epicenter and make a mess? A - It can, if the bidet has narrow spray. Mine does this. Just do a quick shimmy that makes the jet draw a decreasing radius spiral.

Q - Doesn't everything get wet? A - Some bidets have air dryers, but in the absence of, yes. Keep tp in the lav to address this. The quick wipe to address this still saves a ton of tp.

Had one of their fridges a while back with their proprietary compressor design. It kicked the bucket at about 2-3 years old. All appliance repair shops that I contacted in my area, including an LG-certified one, declined repairs. Most of them even immediately asked if it was an LG when I asked if they did compressor replacements to head me off at the pass. It was a good product while it worked, but that's only half the equation.

I should clarify that I live in a remote area where a lot of people are homophobes. Anything directed towards one's ass is, as the kids would say, sus af to these folks.

What are you even talking about? Nobody insinuated any of the points in your comment. OP mentioned anecdotally that Texans they know present in a certain way. That certain way is basically co-opted by Republicans. Texas has a governor, two senators, and a 2-to-1 ratio of House reps that were VOTED IN BY TEXANS that are Republicans. The policy of energy independence pushed by these representatives elected by majorities has led to awful, yet predictable, outcomes. This is the very definition of the state reaping what it has sown.

I fell into that initially as well, but I checked the FEC filing to get the address, then used the address to check property records, then went back and looked at the interviews with his folks to see their names for reference. The residence is that of his parents, so it seems to be him that donated.

I guess it's good that both parties deny the allegations. The problem for Tyson now is that questions about this and the past Shadman support are going to follow wherever she goes.

but muh heritage or whatever 🙄

The fuel nozzle is a completely mechanical implement - there's nothing electronic about it, and the pump has no idea whether you are manipulating the trigger or using the hold-open.

Because it's mechanical, however, the way the hold-open is designed needs to allow for further actuation of the trigger mechanism to free up the hold-open lever when your tank is full. Because of this, the highest setting on the hold-open is less than the full actuation of the trigger mechanism.

Nice, when I was writing my original comment I was wondering about doing it that way

I bought my first Android smartphone in 2008. In terms of computer ecosystems that I was interacting with leading up to that, I was using Windows, Mac OS, and Linux for various applications, so I don't think there was any tribalism in my decision to go Android. Rather, it was just that in testing Android and iOS through friends and at the telecom store I just could not wrap my head around iOS from a usability perspective. Android just felt really intuitive to me. I never have and probably never will be a mobile device power user, so flexibility in that regard wasn't a factor either. To this day, I've never had any serious software issue with Android devices, and they just do what I need them to do, in a format that I have gelled with from the get-go.
