I can't imagine depending on Google to store anything. They shouldn't be able to even see what links you save.

Sony choose to not offer refunds. Sony knew the contract when they agreed to sell the content. When something gets pulled from steam I can still download and install it.

I got banned because I said "lemmy dot world" in reply to someone who said they wished reddit had an alternative.

If I depend on yours software to work, I'm not willing to pay a subscription. Period.

Stuff like this will be used in the anti monopoly cases going on world wide.

At work we pay Microsoft thousands for developer licensees, have windows pro, and there is still ads in the OS.... Windows exists to service them not us.

Just being able to cook at home has reduced our food waste for sure.

Numbers must only go up... no down

Godot is probably the best choice for open source game engines. Its got funding and full time developers working on it.

Stride3D is probably the closest open source clone of Unity. It was developed by Silicon Studio as a commercial game engine but they eventually stopped and open sourced it. Its got a ton of modern features including vulkan and direct x 12 support. It has an active community too, but no full time staff making new features.

I am surprised reddit hasn't removed this post yet.

I got an account banned for saying "lemmy dot world" when someone asked "Are there even any good alternatives?"

If you don't have a good GPU then just use gpt4all

I canceled when they raised the price. I am DONE with all the price increases the past year.

Turned out well for Rareware...

I use it now and again but I couldn't imagine paying $20+ a month for it.

Hopefully the HOA fines out...

You can do both

I think these aren't thought out.

One way to improve them might be to make them only apply to hosts with more than one property. Like if I own a home I should be able to rent it out.

I hope Mastodon succeeds but I don't see it taking off like twitter did.

I buy a hammer. I don't want to depend on another company for my hammer to work.

How does the Nemo 12B compare to the Llama 3.1 8B?

Now if only I could buy it.

Is there a way to stay logged in? I have to log in like every time I use it.

Depends on how much effort you want to put into it. Nextcloud is the closest in terms of features but you'll need to set it up.

I have a ProtonDrive account and I like it but it doesn't have auto upload of photos. You need to manually upload them. I'm personally fine with this since 90% of my photos are receipts and junk.

I would use firefox but more and more websites require a specific browser technology or even a specific browser.

That might be hard unless they start requiring logins.

Really? My wired headphones have lasted 10+ years. My oldest bluetooth headset lasted 5.

Great, now I want beans

Really? I don't know why. What an odd assumption.

Wow I am downvotes for running into websites that don't work in Firefox? What is this, Reddit??

I've had this happen with a password manager too so I know its not just me.

I found several AI sites that seem to block Firefox. Google search labs, the new Bing search. There was also some code collaboration site (duck something) recently. Nothing too too bad but I am finding them more and more.
