Mr. Steal Your Girl.

We have a very limited view of the universe so it's no surprise that our theories are often wrong or incomplete. The beauty of science is that when a theory proves inadequate, it gets replaced with a more complete one.

Customers love that it sucks.

To them, the US is the shithole country, that's why.

He did mention the murder of his wife and said he would detail his regret to anyone who asked. The rest of the letter describes the "social mistakes" in dealing with co-workers and the Linux community. He even asks that those co-workers' names be added to the credits and his negative comments about them be deleted. There's no forgiving what he did to his wife but there's at least some evidence he's changed since that happened.

Don't they know you don't piss off Taylor Swift fans?

Just tell your customers you upped the Jesus in every sandwich and they'll overlook everything else.

Once they're born, they're no longer worth protecting.

I didn’t take me more than a day to learn (I don’t understand) React.

If you can't be you in front of your friends, you need better friends.

One shouldn't laugh at the mentally ill but damn, it's all I can do to keep a straight face.

Literally the main reason I sold my motorcycle last year.

Structural firefighting is hazardous, but if you can get out of the building the risk can be minimal. Wildland firefighting is orders of magnitude more hazardous. Wind-driven wildfires can travel at 60 mph (100 kph) or more, not only can't you outrun them it's unlikely you could escape in a vehicle (assuming you even had access to one) due to the terrain. Paying them minimum wage is an insult and should be illegal but that's the American Way.

Japanese swords: Surprisingly good, considering.

No one could have predicted this totally predictable situation.

I looked at Joplin and Obsidian for the kind of notetaking I do and settled on Obsidian. To be honest, both have more features than I use. I like Obsidian because it's based on Markdown, so you're not tied to some oddball file format. But you should try them out and see which one fits your work style.

You have no tasks, there's nothing to manage. I'd say you're done for the day.

You have to admit it’s 100% on-brand.

"Daddy Donny doesn't pay his lawyers and gets away with it, so why can't I do the same?"

Not a Christian but I can say with all certainty that she's definitely not tempting.

It's like there's a contest to see which site can do the most awful fucking thing possible to their users and Reddit is prepared to do whatever it takes to win.

I look forward to the AIs trained primarily on marketing posts.

Will this solely be a Chrome "feature" or will it get into Chromium and eventually Edge?

Every time I see one of these brick in a washing machine videos I laugh until there are tears in my eyes. They're dumb af but I can't help myself.

Anyone with the ability to read who bought one deserves what happened to them. The sellers are probably still laughing.

While this is great, it only works for self-hosted blogs when your service provider allows access to the Webfinger endpoint. If not, you can try petitioning your provider to open it up but they may not want to do that. It's really frustrating.

The shape of this pitcher bothers me for some reason but it certainly doesn’t confuse me.

It's nice to see these old planes flying but at the same time maybe it's a bad idea to be flying 80+ year old aircraft. Surely, they've earned their retirement by now.

Just think, we haven't hit peak 1984 yet. "It's a beautiful thing, the destruction of words."

And here we thought the DDT was the only issue. Just imagine what's around other WWII naval bases.

The fireproof shelters can protect you from getting burned for a while but large fires consume oxygen at an incredible rate. You can survive the heat yet suffocate if the fire is large enough. It's a horrible way to die.

The first three words of the headline are why.

Biden: Sounds like a you problem.

My wife and I went to, for lack of a better term, an independent broker who represents multiple insurance companies. It was free and we got good coverage for our current conditions for a good price. I can't imagine we could have done as well on our own.

I'm on Bluesky and my view of it, at least, is absolutely nothing like Twitter. I'm glad he quit it before he could really turn it into another Nazi-infested hellhole.

It sure sounds like the only thing that will change the current path is if potential investors shy away from the coming IPO. I've seen nothing (correct me if I'm wrong here) that says that's happening, but it's still early.

Move fast, break things everything.

This could not be more homoerotic.

It just needed a monkey with a tip cup.

In rough chronological order: Basic, Pascal, 6800 asm, 68000 asm, C, Smalltalk, Python, Java, Javascript. Worked with but wouldn't claim to "know": Fortran, COBOL, Prolog, Lisp, C++, Rust, Go.
