Ah, okay that does make a lot of sense. Poor ernest must be getting swarmed by idiots like me asking for QOL changes. Thanks for the info.

I'm glad some of you had fun with the story

Not to mention the story was still very much on rails. Even if there were like what, 3 different outcomes? And on top of that, once you beat the game there is absolutely fuck all to do.

Honestly. I put about 50-60 hours into cyberpunk. I enjoyed every single hour of it. But once the main campaign was complete, there was just nothing left to do. I tried many times to jump back in and go do side quests or explore but the world is just completely empty.

Huh.. my feed has been nothing but straight porn or pictures of John Oliver.. sometimes both at the same time.

I do not fucking understand this. You're never going to compete with Steam. But you have this niche of DRM free marketplace and you ignore the entire Linux community? A community that THRIVES on FOSS and DRM free software.

It's such an idiotic move to not develop a linux client. I will never fucking comprehend this.

LOL.. the link they have for the 3D Printing community is just some guy posting "Balls" over and over again.. Not so sure they got that one right.

Edit: Also... the expanse sub moving to discord is big sad.. Wish they'd recreate that sub somewhere on the fediverse instead..

I mean, they're not entirely wrong. The moderation/administration tools are just not developed yet. But that's what you get with beta services.

Well i'm screwed then.. Cause i'm the worst kind of ex redditor. After like 10 years on that site I had maybe 2k post karma... 150k comment karma lol.

And a boost is... what exactly? I feel like that system is going to lead to pretty much everyone being close to 0 or negative. Especially if downvotes federate between instances, as I don't believe boost is even an option for lemmy instances is it?

There was just an update posted regarding lemmy that would allow for community merging. This is really going to be a game changer if they can figure out how to work that properly.

The Supreme Court is a fucking joke. Scratch that, this entire fucking country is a joke.

  • Debian for stable.
  • Fedora if you want a bit more bleeding edge.
  • Arch for desktop/laptops.

At least that's how I've been running my homelab stuff for years now.

Bummer. Was hoping they'd wipe eachother out and end this damn war.

There is already an infinite scroll setting. Just hit the gear and select "Infinite Scroll: Yes"

The funniest part is my reputation actually went down to -7 now so.. I have no idea if boosting it even did anything.

Every day I feel happier that I gave up on windows entirely.

I guess I didn't know there was a following mechanism here. Good to know, thanks.

Doesn't this still have the same vulnerability of the potential for a hostile takeover similar to tor? Also, is there any way to use i2p to bypass geoblocking? If not that's a major reason why I and many people use vpns.

I've got 2 kids, and the public transportation in my area is basically non existent. My choices are taking a bus that doesn't get me even remotely close to where I need to be... or... uber? A taxi?

There's just nothing else here.

Bro same. It's almost like FOMO. There's just so much content out there that I feel overwhelmed just trying to parse through what I'd actually want in an RSS feed and terrified i'm missing actual important stuff.

Have you guys also seen communities not federate fully? Like if you browse https://lemmy.world/c/tampabaylightning from within kbin, you see 2 posts. But from an instance like lemmy.ca, you'll see the entirety of 6 posts.

Obviously, this community is pretty well dead but it's interesting to me that it appears to be federating, but is still missing part of the content.

What does this have to do with fedora? Fedora is actively supported by redhat I doubt you're going to see any changes with this. This really only affects redhat alternate distros like rocky.

How did you get it to show up as an actual launch item in steam? I have to launch battlnet then launch the game from there. works flawless it's just one extra step.

You.....

Are...

EVIL.

The difference is, there was actually engaging content outside the main story quest in those games.

I'm at 67 hours in Cyberpunk and last time I logged in I spent 20-30 minutes just TRYING to find something to do. There was absolutely nothing that pulled you into the world. There's no base building mechanic. No fishing or hunting. Just.. empty lifelessness.

I'm not trying to say it's a bad game. The story was really fun. But if you are expecting some vast open world game that leaves you plenty to do outside the story... this just ain't it. At least in my own personal experiences. I dumped FAR more time into games like RDR2 and Fallout 4.

Right? The data they can collect there is pretty much entirely useless unless they can also gather the location of last connection. But even then, not terribly helpful.

2nd liftoff, just wish I could add my kbin account.

Why is it a problem with CP2077? Couldn't possibly be because there's a prominent trans character

Literally no one here is complaining about this, and you are the only one to bring this up. I have at least triple the time in Witcher 3 that I do in CP2077 and I never once completed the game in Witcher 3. Because there is so much more to do in that game. It is a more vibrant world, with more engaging side quests and little areas to explore.

There's nothing to explore in CP2077. It honestly feels like you are driving around in a vast wasteland for 90% of the game.

Irc is the route I've always gone. Irchighway is the server I use.

I mean.. my wife who very sparingly uses reddit, and when she does it's either to look at animal videos or boobs, asked me what happened to reddit as her feed was almost completely blank...

This definitely affected a very large chunk of users.

My only curiosity is if this takes place after the events of the main story. When I beat the game, I remember I had to revert to an old save just to keep playing as there was no new game+ or free roam after the story ended.

Is that still the case?

Are any of you guys seeing an issue where the comments from a remote community do not match properly when viewing them from kbin, or directly from the source? I'm talking like.. massive differences in the number of comments.

I'll still be using Fedora. But i'm a RHEL Engineer soo... kinda makes sense to stick with it. I don't see this really having much of an effect on me.

Honestly, I joined lemmy.ml first before really taking a look at the ideals of most of that userbase and I just do not agree with a large part of what they identify with.

Bounced around to a few other instances that all seemed... Idk not the right fit. But kbin so far seems much more my style and I finally now got an account created so we'll see how it goes.

Communities from different instances should be able to merge, allowing users to see the content of all communities across different instances.

Holy crap this is huge news. There are quite a few subs I browse that seem to have fragmented into multiple different instances. Would be great to see those all merge together into one feed.
