Personally I enjoy hearing about the reddit drama. I don't spend nearly as much time there as I did before they broke my beloved sync so I enjoy getting to read about the ongoing shenanigans over there.

I use bitwarden for 99% of my 2FA. The rest goes into both Google Auth and Authy.

Thanks for asking this. This is something I've been serious about for awhile. Turns out while it's expensive in the grand scheme of giant website it's not that expensive money wise. Though it is very time expensive.

Yeah I would think if anything this is more sustainable because you can just easily swap the parts that need upgrading instead of having to scrap the whole laptop.

Lemmynsfw.com is larger and I believe they allow just about anything consensual and legal.

PornLemmy.com is more into the vanilla things and is more heavily moderated in the communities and posts they allow there.

I personally stopped browsing Reddit once getting sync. It just FEELS right.

Because when you click a link out of link Google or something you try to login and it says your login doesn't work. To actually view that page properly you have to copy the link go you home instance and search it again then go to the post and then you can interact with it. Some people either A. don't realize that or B. Don't understand that's how it all functions. It confused the shit out of me for the first couple days but I just didn't care enough to create a new account because my account "should" have worked there I just didn't know how to make that happen.

Count me in on the group. Have been a family subscriber for awhile. Daughter is 7 and autistic so when an ad pops up she always installs the games then they are horrible and piss her off or she wants me to spend money on it because they force it down your throat. I know the feeling. I hate Netflix with a passion but my SO uses it. I have a Plex server full of stuff and constantly adding and showed her how. I cancel Netflix every month though 😂 can usually make it a day or 2 passed when it was supposed to renew before she uses it again and resubscribes.

True true. My favorite is that we are a trucking company. They genuinely debated dropping some out truck down 5 weight classes to save $700 a year/truck. They could only do that to like 10 trucks and those trucks pretty regularly hit the max legal weight they are currently registered for.

Never heard of them before this but the name and sold out had me curious so I looked them up. If I was in the market for laptop this would for sure be my top choice. I greatly prefer my desktop and anything I can't do there I just do on my phone so everytime I get the itch for a laptop I regret buying it because it ends up just sitting.

I had the same problem on the liftoff app. Had to delete the account then sign back in and everything worked perfectly again. Personally I also changed my password because it made me feel better.

In all seriousness. They probably are bots but I personally just let bitwarden make me a username and this is the default way to generate one.

Oh that's for sure a big expense for most people myself included but if you go to the open collective link above the estimated budget for lemmy.world this year is only 16k ish. and thats to host one of if not the biggest instance right now. if every user donated a dollar the instance could run possibly for years.

When I made my account was the first time I used a Firefox relay account for more than just testing how it worked 😂 didn't even think about the fact that fediverse instances are probably "less secure" or could even be outright malicious from the get. Been using bitwarden for about a year now and honestly I love it as well.

You'll also find that private trackers tend to be pretty safe to use without a VPN. But I think in the case MyAnonamouse you only have to be on your home IP for the interview. After you get accept tell them you use a VPN or seedbox and what that IP is and you should be good to go. I just got in there today actually and am super pumped about it. They have sooooo many things 😂

Been looking into getting a yubikey recently and just can't bring myself to bite the bullet.

My only think is it would be trivial for meta to do this with any other instance and not tell anyone it was theirs. There is nothing stopping meta from spinning up an instance and not claiming it as there while the rest of the fediverse continues to federate with them. Would still give them open access to everything and their instance wouldn't even need to be super populated to get most the information they could want.

Yup and there was generally a way around it even though most often it involved rooting the phone or using USB passthrough.

Can confirm that Google will do this for you. Also, I switched to Bitwarden and Firefox last year so most of these passwords have either been changed or I haven't been on the site in years and don't much care and im not actually this exposed anymore 😂😂

It's not as obvious as the other apps for sure and requires the premium subscription which is like 10 bucks a year. Was an instant buy for me when I switched over. When you auto fill a login it will automatically copy your 2FA key to quick paste into the box. I love it.

So I got this set up tonight and holy shit. A little confusing at first and currently only available when I'm at home but that's fine since I can download them like I normally do anyway. But holy shit. It's Plex for audiobooks. I'm sure there is more for me to do but I'm blown away just from start.

Only question I still have it how the hell did I get the ebooks... I don't think I have those downloaded but I can just open the ebook right from the audiobook page.

If you had 2FA enabled and aren't logged into a browser anymore I think your pretty much just fucked. I've tried to get 2FA working with bitwarden and found out that even if you don't set up 2FA it's still enabled on the account once you check the box.

On my desktop browser I have it set to relock only when I close the browser. So I only have to enter my master password the first time.

I have an Android phone and an iPhone and have bitwarden enabled on both and set to auto lock after 15 minutes. Very rarely do I run into and instance where bitwarden won't be able to auto populate everything on either device and I have biometrics set up to unlock my vault. When it doesn't I have to go searching but imo it's a minor inconvenience because it very rarely happens.

If you mean that when you are using the auto entry feature your account isn't showing up to populate the field without searching then you need to save the URI to the password so that bitwarden knows what account goes with that site. Just hit the auto fill and save button and it will automatically add that URI for you so you don't have to search next time.
