Did you like tell them? Have you been reporting it?
This is so important to know, because it matters if this is from willful negligence or simply because no one has brought it up and the instance admin(s) think it's smooth sailing.
Should plant something more wild and ecological anyways 😔
Neurodivergent people everywhere appreciated how it made them go to being 5 bucks at a gas station instead of 20 + shipping
That could be deafening in certain public spaces.
In an ironic, roundabout way, this is some top-tier shitposting.
I don't buy the idea that disintegrating my molecules and reconstructing new ones is tantamount to murder or suicide.
If all I experience is being one place one moment and another place the next, then it's me. It's isn't some fucking clone, it's me. You're just being turned into some other form (energy, if we're using Star Trek rules) and then being turned back.
I'm pretty sure that at 26, I'm already a completely different person than the baby I was born as, literally. My cells have all died and been replaced. The horror. ./s
I keep hearing they are swamped and not many people, so if that's really the case i hope this spurs knowledgeable people to join to help add these things.
I always assume this is asking me as if I was in one of the examples universes like Star Trek. I 100% would never get in Musk's Teslaporter, but in a world where it's as widespread as airplanes and trains? Would use, wouldn't be murder.
I love the green theme on the menu, they deliberately changed their cable box settings for that. Throws me back.
I've always thought that the upholding of these laws should instead result in quotes and "imagery" from Islam directly...or any non-Christian religion, really.
With so many shows getting canceled, or even un-confirmed and then obliterated from existence all for tax write offs, I'm kinda soured on Streaming these days.
Hopefully the WGA and SAG strikes are successful and result in streaming improving again, back to how it felt during the mid 2010s.
It's ironic that some people go after Americans for being ignorant of the wider world then they go and act like America = East Coast
Some are doing one step more and registering on the instances hosting the piracy communities.
Star Wars (original trilogy), lord of the rings extended editions, Wrath of Khan, Blader Runner
~~These are just my hyperfixations ~~
Hope that anyone who was using it and not switching to lemmy is encouraged to do so now.
When I had more income I paid for the NYT, but tbh they've made enough questionable editorial decisions lately that I've decided it wasn't worth it. The Guardian isn't paywalled at least.
This would be an improvement.
How long before this goes the way of 12ft.io
Disabled on lots of sites now
I'd love to use PeerTube, if channels I liked moved there.
Reddit didn't always have that, and Lemmy I think is in many ways meant to resemble Reddit before the introduction of user-focused features. Kbin has the option though.
I suspect that with time (and support) the Devs will probably introduce account-migration.
Firefox has an autoplay block setting, and I've never had it fail me.
There is absolutely a segment of Mastodon users who behave like they do, and tbh I think there should always be small instances, but i also think this will be a great improvement.
My mastodon account follows a few lemmy communities but I find the formats for each don't transfer well. I'll sometimes switch from one to another if I specifically want to make a retoot of a comment and direct attention to a community.
Oh yeah this feature is a godsend
Thematic w/ mine, I like it!
That's what I've been hoping will happen - it would be cool for networks to pop up too like how there were for some subreddits.
Also, if they ever add lists they could work like a "multireddit" to corral all the same type of community into one feed at least on the user-end.
Was wondering why I couldn't reply to a comment from earlier today when I was sure I hadn't broken any rule to get banned. Hope it's back soon, but more importantly that you can stop all the damn CP.
The same issue applies to government-run news too. You see it with the BBC as a government owned and funded institution. It's domestic UK news is pro-Monarchy, pro-Tory, and this is because of how it's set up.
Private news media, when there's a lot of it, tends to be less biased in the end because they're trying to compete with each other, meaning they can't go too far in one overt political slant. When one person controls more and has a wider reach, that dynamic becomes less important as they gain greater control over where journalists go and what events they cover.
I support public news media, but community-owned papers would avoid the monopolistic issue of either corporate consolidation or a government funded alternative.
Neurodivergent hell.
Is there a popular /c/trees anywhere yet?
Came here to say this
About a year. I found it after cleaning up an event. Took it home, soaked it for 24 hours, and now it's covered in stickers.
Both of us would be me. Then, as our experiences diverged from the point of duplication, we'd become different people (See: Thomas, the duplicate of William Riker in Star Trek. The only reason Thomas and not Will is considered the copy is because of audience perspective, but empathizing with each of them makes one see how both are Will Riker at the start of the episode). This all of course, assumes we don't discover something like the popular conception of souls during the early trials. But I don't believe there's anything about a "soul" that can't be tied to the sum of one's lived experience, which would be copied too.
I would consider a clone to be more expansive of who it could include besides copies of myself as I am now - it would also be someone grown from the literal same embryo as me who'd lived a completely different life with even a different name.
I've always assumed so
Would I be able to sign into that app with a lemmy account?
I'd really like for PeerTube to take off, especially with how YouTube/Google seem to be escalating the war on adblockers.
