not just sent through, but indefinitely stored on the cloud server, despite advertising that it was not cloud-connected. It also generated facial-recognition based IDs for people which was also stored, and every single device could be connected to through an non-authorized connection request from VLC player.

Aside from the standard dark patterns and extraneous, feature-forcing bloat, I really dislike that flat-design trend. Not just does it look kinda bad, but everything is so physically bloated to try to separate it from everything else that you get notably less usable screen space resulting in annoyingly little information density.

That's definitely a part of it. All of the MS web platforms rely heavily on first and third party cookies. You can't even log in properly to Teams if your browser is in incognito/private mode.

While I do use a USB-C phone, the thing I miss most about the audio jack is a wired audio connection that doesn't remove charging or require a separately purchased dongle.

I'm pretty sure that is his point, the microblogging on kbin was not a draw to make him choose it over lemmy.

Back a long time ago when I worked as a cashier, it was store policy for us to bag everything for the customer. They could offer to bag, but we were expected to just start bagging automatically unless they interjected.

Because the majority of them are elected by the community that they serve. The rest are assigned by the current sitting state government. While this does result in politically aligned judges, in theory it ensures that the judges align with the current desires of the population. In practice, the whole thing is so twisted, convoluted and corrupted that it's just a nightmare.

Be careful, People have seen their post deletions being undone. Some posts that were restored were deleted as much as a decade ago. It appears to be manually chosen subreddits getting restored, but it's something to keep an eye out for.

Goo-B-Gone or Goo-Gone, plus steel wool like SOS pads or Scotch-Guard. Razors would work if it was a flat surface, but on a curved one like a bottle or glass, you want the flexibility of the steel wool.

I keep seeing people mention clicking on Communities, but I don't see that. Am I missing something?
My top bar has "All, Subscribed, Moderated, Favorites, and then a bunch of magazine suggestions. I don't see Communities anywhere.

Edit: Just noticed that this is a Lemmy threaed, is it because I am looking at it via kbin and the communities tab is only in Lemmy? This fediverse thing will take some getting used to.

Seems like if you click on it directly, kbin reformats overrides the link and looks for a user profile (https://kbin.social/u/@unexpected@lemmy.ml) whereas if you open it in a new tab, it correctly navigates to the magazine (https://kbin.social/m/unexpected@lemmy.ml). Probably something in the kbin markdown itself.

damn, that's kinda awesome. Do they mention moving to a different platform, or will they be sticking with their support site and discord only?

The GOP accusations were a tonne of child porn and conspiracied themselves into proof of murder, pedophilia rings and all sorts of crime. The laptop likely didn't exist, and if it did, certainly wasn't his.

Tone down the maliciousness a bit, and Trump would be a good inspiration for Alpha Complex's Friend Computer.

On that bar, on KBIN, is Threads, Microblog, and People. I hear that KBin is still in early stages of development, so hopefully it will get more filtering and federation options in the future
