More belt and road usury?
More belt and road usury?
Meteorfall
I tried to explain this to my wife. I can walk for long periods with no issue. But shopping? Amusement Parks? That shit is not walking, its trudging and it plays completely different with my energy levels.
Order some joke/fake lottery tickets. One of the ones where every ticket wins $30k. Drop one on his driveway before he heads to work in the AM for him to find. I've only done this to two people and they both fell hook, line, and sinker for it. One lady was calling her husband to come pick up the winning ticket to keep it safe.
TIL that Sicilian is a language that is separate from Italian?
Welp this did it. I'm going to need you to go turn in your Arab card down at the Department of Arabic and Islamic Civilizations. Otherwise we're gonna have to send Akbar and Ahmed over.
I recently saw a video of AI designing an engine, and then simulating all the toolpaths to be able to export the G code for a CNC machine. I don't know how much of what I saw is smoke and mirrors, but even if that is a stretch goal it is quite significant.
I wonder what the timeline is before the inevitable selling of data results in users getting doxxed.
Gavin newsome: NOOOOOOOO!!!!!
He said years ago that the homeless issue was his number one problem, and its gotten worse and worse in CA. It's up like 70% in Sacramento, which is his backyard. We can do better than that, I know we can.
That movies was so good. I was a teenager with testosterone levels pushing towards psychopathy. I thought he was the hero of the story even after it was over. My mom (I guess correctly) thought he was the bad guy.
My cousins and I still quote that movie a lot, though its even less PC now than it was back then. "Now THESE are Vietnam Jungle Boots! They're great for..." Back in the day we would scream that shit at each other, now I'd cringe so hard I'd probably pull a stomach muscle.
People are going to freak out when AI starts contacting them out of the blue.
I broke into a base once. My buddy and I climbed two barbed wire fences to get back onto base after going out drinking. I was unscathed but my buddy tore his shorts up pretty bad. It turned out we were on the golf course. It was 7am in the summer and the sun was coming up and we were getting hot, plus the booze was starting to wear off.
We ended up stealing a golf cart from the corral, driving it to the local base McDonalds and going through the drive thru with it. Once we got our McMuffins we ditched the golf cart in the parking lot and went to go crash in our barracks rooms. Thank god security was busy that morning. I totally would have gotten a DUI for that golf cart.
Anti-perspirant causes breast cancer. You look at data for Japan back in the 90's-2000s and breast cancer was like 80 times less prevalent in Japan vs the US. Now Japanese are starting to use it more and breast cancer instances are raising to be more on-par with the US. The NIH did a study that was inconclusive so everyone assumes its not true. However, if you read the study you realize exactly how inconclusive it is, and that the answer was truly more along the lines of: "We don't know".
IPO was it for me as well. Once something goes public, the enshitification begins in earnest. Reddit users better be ready for their user data to be sold by the board, there will be more ads than ever, and I'm predicting people will start getting doxxed in about 2-3 years. Never mind the fact that AI is already making the lion's share of the posts to farm karma for reasons that I don't even understand.
It’s the ones in the middle who sway one way or another. Trump is being ungracious by continuing to post about how horrible Biden has been (in his opinion). Its very un-presidential on Trump's part, and shows the real lack of class that he is well known for. This is the kind of thing that pushes people in the middle one way or the other. It also demonstrates that he has trouble keeping his mouth shut even when he know that running his mouth is going to hurt him.
he’s the symptom incurred by a mental disease that so many people seem to have.
It's basically a new religion, right? If this what fills the vacuum when we let go of the old religions... Is it an improvement? It certainly makes me want to be less critical of your average Christian/Jew/Muslim/Flying Spaghetti Monster worshipper.
So am I to take it from your inference that the Russian Lemmy site is called Lemmygrad?
This video is a year old, they've made a lot of progress since then.
So you've seen X-rays of both?
Israel might have gotten word that one of the pagers got flagged at an airport X-ray or something. If you wait long enough it will eventually get figured out.
How did the compromised pagers not trigger warnings at airport X-rays? I guess lithium batteries and C4 look similar?
The DC Mayor position is so corrupt usually. Anyone old enough to remember Marion Barry? I don't know who it is now but last time I lived in DC the mayor was Vincent Gray and he even looked corrupt. He looks like Snidley Whiplash and Joe Jackson (Michael's dad) had a baby.
In my teens I watched NBA basketball religiously.
In my twenties I was a huge MLB fan.
In my 30s I watched the NFL every weekend.
In my 40s I have athletics daughters and I watch them play and I also watch women's soccer.
Does it help that the US women are a dominant force in the international area whereas the men are just "no longer a joke".
Yes, yes it does.
When my highschooler was younger we'd go watch the Washington Spirit at the Soccerplex in Germantown.
It sat about 4,000.
This summer I travelled back to the US and caught a Spirit game in the new stadium in Baltimore. Holy shit what a big difference.
The crowd now had 19,000 in attendance.
There is an old army manual that says if you are ever forced to work for the enemy, try to push as many things as possible into committee decisions, because it looks like its helping, but also slows everything down to a crawl/halt.
Was the first one any good? I've played a couple of 40k games that were meh. I like the lore, but the story and gameplay have to be up to par also.
You think there's going to be a Hollywood? Maybe there might be a Tuberwood.
