It's quite the dilemmy

FlorisBoard has been a great keyboard. The last proper release was over a year ago but the developer is actively working on a big update which will add word suggestion.

Meanwhile, Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Re-release-master-vamped 3 Toaster edition is likely six-plus months away

A legend

It can only be accessed through their mobile app, or on the web with the new interface (old.reddit.com won't work).

They don't care what people are putting on the board, it's still an increase in people engaging with the new interface and the official app.

So far, in the time between Elder Scrolls V and and VI, I have:

  • graduated high school
  • graduated college
  • gotten 3 jobs
  • started and advanced in my career
  • gotten married
  • had 2 kids

I'm probably not the best person to answer because I blocked !memes@lemmy.ml but it seems like the latest trend is to post old school memes. It gives the older users a sense of nostalgia to a time in the early days if the internet. So I suspect a lot of people have focused on !antiquememesroadshow@lemmy.world since it's now a community.

Just like any internet trend, it will come and go quickly until the next fun and exciting thing takes its place.

The stickied comment from the admin on the announcement of /r/place

r/place is only available on our mobile apps (iOS and Android) and new Reddit. The new r/place features we are introducing this year are only on our mobile apps and moderators can opt out of these if they want to.

If it's inspired by Infinity, you should call it Beyond

Yeah, not a fan.

A long time.

A group of people thought that was a good name for the protocol. And as you were saying, with no marking to indicate the cable is compatible.

The problem is that won't happen, they won't get that reprimand. They'll be an asshole now and then they'll just be dead.

It's understandable to be confused. The easiest way to wrap your head around it is to think of it like the difference between Gmail and Hotmail, they both have the same purpose and do the same thing (showing you emails) but they are on different servers run by different people.

Lemmy.ml -- lemmy.world -- lemm.ee -- etc.
They are all servers that connect together. Some posts, pictures, and profiles are saved to one server, some are saved on another. All of that is accessible between all of them.

If you're going to be that level of pedantic then it's clear you already have an idea in your head and don't care to be informed.

The linked post is saying they will allow non-irl underage-looking content.

That is illegal in Canada.

163.1 (1) In this section, child pornography means

(a) a photographic, film, video or other visual representation, whether or not it was made by electronic or mechanical means,

(i) that shows a person who is or is depicted as being under the age of eighteen years and is engaged in or is depicted as engaged in explicit sexual activity

It mostly comes down to personal preference honestly.

Jellyfin is open-source and more focused on your own selfhosted media. I, too, bought a Plex pass years ago and have enjoyed Plex but they've been adding a bunch of crap to their interface.

I'm big on free open-source software but I won't be biased to say that Jellyfin has some rough edges, but it works well enough for me to watch movies with my wife. Plex is a bit smoother and more production-ready for those power users that host Plex for several others.

I'd encourage you to try it out if for nothing more than exposing yourself to alternatives.

I'm going to guess that's to avoid paying taxes as the big companies can use Ireland as a tax haven. Not the greatest thing to be associated with.

It says uptime is 3.3 weeks in the top right.

If you decide to use docker-compose.yml files, which I do recommend, then I'd also highly recommend this script for updating the docker containers.

It checks each container for updates and then let's you select the containers you would like to update. I just keep it in the main directory with all the other docker container directories.

I think size of the community should be factored into the ranking, at least a little bit.

“just use the reddit app it’s fine”

To them I say "just use another website, it's fine"

Not sure how many of these are open-source but it's a good start

You can also "install" the mobile web version as an app. Just go to your home instance lemmy.one and and fromthe menu on your phone's browser, there's usually an install button.

This also works for Voyager, https://vger.app/posts/lemmy.one/all

It's worth noting that PeerTube has a peer2peer function that allows other people watching a video to upload directly to other viewers, reducing the bandwidth needed on the server directly.

I'm also using Arch and nearly ashamed to say it because of all the memes.

It's very amusing seeing your use of "here" and "there" in the comments from your respective accounts appearing in both places.

I found the opposite with Gnome which is why I switched over to KDE.

And that's the beauty, we are free to choose. I'm glad Gnome works well for you.

Yeah, I'm failing to see how Reddit is relevant here. Am I missing something?

It also works in the /c/ and /m/ formats for the web version of Lemmy (not sure if kbin has the same)

/m/AccidentalRenaissance@kbin.social
