RTO for the company I work for is under the guise of "culture, vibrance, and collaborative work", but really it's that they own a ton of office space/buildings and invest in said retail office space.

It also works as a "lay off" without actually firing people because they know people will leave for other jobs that don't have forced RTO.

Number go up, weight get heavier, me happy.

Yeah I saw that when I was previously running into this, but wasn't sure if it would leave performance on the table. Also, I'm curious if you could run it once, turn it off so you don't process them again, and if that would be beneficial for subsequent runs of the game even after updates (assuming not since they'd probably be invalidated).

Tell them about Arch Linux.

It's a constant cat and mouse game with Google. You can use Magisk with Zygisk enabled, Shamiko, and Play Integrity Fix (there's also a few other combos that work) to get baking apps to work. I have no issues on my rooted Pixel 8 Pro, but it's always a gamble if Google updates their end and then you get locked out of Google Wallet for a day once you update your fixes (not banking apps).

Obsidian is quite nice. No Boilerplate did a nice video on some of the cool capabilities of it.

Claw... My hands are too goddamn big...

Weird. I use Bazzite which is off of Kinoite and the upgrade from 39 -> 40 was seamless.

Hmm that's not a bad idea. I am running an older setup so I'll have to see how that fairs while I do normal tasks.

Windows regretfully. Only because of certain games who's anticheat won't work on Linux with proton and such. Waiting for the day I can get rid of it!

Just switched from Windows 10 to Nobara this morning!

I absolutely love the steak workshop. I can order any cut of steak, however I want it cooked, whenever. Absolutely brilliant service!🥩

OSRS

Still hanging onto my Pixel 2 XL. The recent Pixel 6 and 7 looked good before launch but I've read of nothing but issues.

Trying to hold out for as long as I can but not sure what to get next. Somewhat limited as I'm on Google Fi.

Aah okay that makes sense. I wouldn't mind the extra space.

If that's turned off, do you know if the game generates and caches shaders as you play? If so, does that also apply to games run outside of Steam?

Currently I'm just playing games like Hunt Showdown and Helldivers.

My Pixel 2 XL that's suffering begs to differ...

I've tried Linux gaming for a good bit but it doesn't seem like it's quite there yet. For the games that worked it was amazing! The only other thing that was annoying was the constant downloading for the shader caches basically every day with steam (yes I know they can be disabled). I was using Bazzite for those wondering.

So I have multiple YouTube accounts under the same email. I tried to important my subscriptions but it takes them from the wrong account. Is there a way to select accounts?

I mean I've been daily driving Linux and more recently Bazzite specifically for games and everything else without issue.

Not sure how the CPU compares, but I'm still running a Pixel 2 XL and the only real issue I have is the lack of RAM. CPU speed is no issue here.

I just meant for ads in general. As for YouTube, Firefox with ublock origin is still working wonders for me.

Performance wise it was better for almost every game I played! I'm more used to Linux because that's what I use at work, but I don't have the greatest Internet connection, so that's why the shader caches suck.

Thanks! It feels good to be back.

I think they mean when you go to open Firefox (when it updates) it immediately closes and reopens the first time? At least mine does that.

I run PopOS on my T450s. Runs like a dream, but probably not considered 'lightweight .

I haven't really seen many of any issues but your mileage may vary.

Well lucky for you someone has already done the work! SpaceCadetPinball

Rooting your phone if possible is always a nice solution to this. BCR works great for me(along with BCR GUI). I can also still use my banking and Google wallet apps (you just need the right apps/modules)

Any recommendations on tailscale setup? I've wanted to do this but have been weary of opening it up to outside my local network. Currently running it all on proxmox.

The only thing that's killing me now is bad battery life and the low RAM on the pixel 2 XL, so apps get reloaded frequently when multitasking. Battery is easily replaceable though.

I've just seen a lot of overheating and connection issues with the 6/7.

Curious, what hardware are you running?

Thanks! I may be in the market for a little server. Currently running stuff off a pine a64 but arm is killing me for some stuff (specifically playwright with chrome)

LACT isn't a bad stand-in for some of adrenaline's features, but it obviously doesn't cover everything.
