Don't worry, it's just the content creators and mods that left!

Good.

Very good.

"Yeah but now what?"

curl -k IP_Address

Open in notepad.

Read.

Maybe the difference in security is the culprit, my home PC is snappy, my work PC not at all (and is better).

That's maybe why my old Linux box running an old 4gen intel is insta-quick, no slow heuristic "AI" scanning-uploading-waiting for an answer every time I do the smallest thing...

I'm sure he already did.

Yeah gen-x here, at the beginning there were nothing.

Then I got this "home computer" with the blazing speed at 1MHz (yeah, 0.001GHz and quite unoptimized) bringing me wonders above comprehension.

And then it got faster, better, bigger, smaller, over and over and over ... It felt crazy whaen anything doubled like speed, memory, discs, screen resolution, internet speed, ...

I feel todays computers are more than enough (except for research basically) and that was a crazy arc, from nothing to basic completeness.

Well that's how I feel it anyways 💖

My instance is working well on 0.19.2 finally with the caveat that it (still) need a daily reboot (docker).

So yes I think it's wise to wait a bit more.

What a bowl of fresh air.

Yeah the popup works flawlessly! I think it's the only site in the world where I accepted notifications :-)

Good luck with the work!

Guess I got bitten by a girl!

Bordeaux, super un-normal heat all spring, with the allergy-red-alert (from trees etc.) going since around 3 months (also a "record") :-/

It would be fun if he loses by just a tiny bit so they can keep all that "stolen election" by themselves :-)

I don't know. Let's find out:

That's why I advocate against Spotify. At least as a sole way to listen to music (it's maybe good at finding new stuff).

Let's go!

A European :-) !

Red Alert & World of Warcraft.

I guess Diablo 2 but I didn't have the possibility to buy it back in the day. Buying games wasn't as straightforward as buying a CD of music where I lived.

Well you'll need X GB to use a X GB file whatever the OS, here windows seems to need 16 just to run which is quite ridiculous.

Oh not joy, Fake joy!

Hang in there OP, I left the company I worked for early last year for reasons like that. Sure isn't the easiest thing to do (x-gen here) but I feel like it's always ^tm^ a good solution when your job sucks(the soul out of you).

I live in Europe, so I guess the question isn't for me.

Yeah there were comics or some 180 pages catalogue, or even a "porny mag" (no sex, some titties or the one big flash) in the bunch of stuff.

People were all alone at almost all times so people did a bit of anything whenever they felt like it.

It was a crazy time compared to now in that manner, like you'd walk home and no one would worry if you weren't like one or two hours late. Meeting up? Other is 1h late? Yeah there were probably some problem (it happened to all of us), or they decided to not come...

So I had my café where I went, you met those who made it :-)

Ha ha went off the rails there, cheers & good night from the EU!

Yep, browsing, developing, listening to music all alright on 8GB, could probably run on even 4.

Are they all coming from some shady instance(s) ?

Alternatively they'll shift it out.

Is that why the comments number on the main page doesn't reflect the actual number in the post itself (much fewer) ?

I'm not against that but historically men tend to do better, so that would mean men would largely dominate the Olympics, football, etc.

I mean where is the healthy debate about this?

Maybe there is something about sports and how it's generating so much money that it's the most money generating way is to show men losing (obviously in some way so you can interpret it as it was not 'the fault of the team', it was unluck, the referees, unluck again etc, if only "guy" would havedone this and not that) but make believe it might be possible one day maybe.

Hi,

Where do people like you hang out? I'm building a fully encrypted, takedown safe, decentralized, free protocol and implementation (I'm ironing out some last important aspects, but it already functions) and I'd love having feedback and thoughts and maybe even someone trying it out...

Cheers

Is 1.1.1.1 like open source DNS? I used 8.8.8.8 (4.4.8.8?) for a long time when ISPs sometimes we're flaky, any pointers for what to use nowadays?

BDP was interesting like ten years ago, then it went to center on not bragging/bragging and even shaming. Well that was what I felt anyways.

It's like being tall, can't complain without acknowledge you're lucky being tall (so the actual problem just goes out the window).

New macbook Pro doesnt even have 16GB?? Do they come with a 32GB SSD too?

This is just blatantly untrue.

Some cells don't renew hardly at all, some do it all the time but the brain isn't "renewed" every X years.

Wow fastest reply, thanks!

Yeah but that's way harder to get back to after being on pause for some hours IMO!

Alt, CTRL, SHIFT isnt enough?

Plus the stupid Windows key.

Yeah that's definitely some crappy wInDoWs bs.

Okay, this seems to be horrible and not at all as good as it could be.

Where do I sign up?

Yeah sure is, but hopefully it's the new wave of stuff and we'll sort it out (it sure feels like this new shiny drug IMO), like with work from home and less bureaucracy I guess. Hope for. 😊

Yeah for sure, but someone good at biology can surely handle AI, while other writers might not.

Well this is typically something that merits to be kept in some "installing Lemmy stuff" place IMO!

French vanilla coffees?

Like in France, the country that invented the espresso?

😭

Jk, you do your stuff ofc 😊
