Hexbear has been very active for 3 years before we even federated. There's plenty of room for growth. We're not going to become reddit (and that's a good thing) but acting like it's just going to die (or is already dead) is just ridiculous

Everything is political. We have comms that we don't consider political, but you would still consider them political because you would rather they cater to your politics rather than ours. We have !games@hexbear.net for example, but because it's not a liberal comm you would consider it political.

What happens to me now with Firefox and ublock origin is if i leave a video paused in the background for a long time and then it unloads it and then I click it to continue watching so it loads back up, then it plays an ad. I was legit like 
because I haven't seen an ad on the internet in years.

It's an understandable answer that kind of misses the point. Cows are an incredible strain on the environment because of how fucking many of them humans breed in order to abuse and murder. But deleting cows would just prompt people to breed and abuse a different animal so it wouldn't help that much
As we've learned here on hexbear with our recent federation, reddit people are almost unimaginably bad at making memes. Suddenly having your feed look like 9gag is a downside till you block a couple comms

I found a two civil cases where people were physically detained after refusing to show their receipt.
But I'm pretty sure that isn't a civil issue. That's a whole bunch of crimes, involving the violence committed in the process of detaining you and the kidnapping / imprisonment itself. What happens when you call the cops and say "this person tackled me leaving the store and accused me of theft, here is my receipt"
I mean it's a cop so you never know, but what's supposed to happen is that guy gets arrested for the unlawful violence he committed against you, and like definitely 1000% fired at least because every store has a policy against that shit

If they were being honest they would have said "Ableton doesn't support Linux and I want to stick with Ableton so it doesn't work for me." Their inaccurate comment could discourage people who do not have a strong preference toward Ableton from trying Linux.
