I'm surprised they haven't raised the prices. They haven't gone up in a while while the "value" has.

Ya, he should have never sought re-election, but it's past that point.

I guess I usually skipped the race part, because I don't remember that nearly as much as the guy walking up to turn on the lights.

Would be nice if they would implement a sponsor block type feature, but I doubt we will ever see that happen.

Can you provide some more information about him abusing his powers here?

Thanks. I remember seeing that thread on Mastodon, but I hadn't associated it with his actions. I think open logs are good and if someone acts like that as a moderator, it is best if they step down.

Go ahead and report it to the Mint team. Even if it is an issue upstream, they will verify the issue and then report it as well. Never hesitate to report a bug you find, especially if it's a security or privacy issue.

Even if the bug is a duplicate, it helps to know other people are having the same issue. At worst they will mark your report as a duplicate, which will let you know they are aware of the issue.

I don't particularly care for Epic, but this is some gatekeeping bullshit from Apple.

Those updates in Discover are for flatpak, not dnf. You can verify that with flatpak update.

As for discover wanting to restart to do their update, that's a fedora thing for an extra level of safety while updating. You can read about it here.

That will rely on businesses moving away from Windows. That is where they make a ton of their money with Enterprise licenses and Office 365 subscriptions.

According to Wikipedia, he lost the primary in his own district when he was house majority speaker. First in history to do so.

Just because it's the richest country on the planet doesn't mean the wealth is spread evenly.

This bug was driving me crazy. I am glad they finally fixed it

Plans sound great, but I'll be happy once it's actually reclassified. This is long overdue.

3 years of community service feels pretty light for a serious offense. Swatting has lead to deaths and we need to do more to treat it like the crime that it is.

This is pretty exciting. I wish it would have happened sooner though. It was at the top of my list when I was looking at phones last year, but it was still unavailable when I decided to go with the Pixel 7.

I made the swap from Nvidia to AMD without getting a more powerful card. It just isn't worth it. Sure, the fact that I can use Wayland and open source drivers is nice, but you don't gain any extra performance. I would wait until you are ready to upgrade your card and just get and AMD card at that point.

Ads in Windows Explorer was the final straw to make me switch to Linux a few years back. I would imagine that ads in the Start Menu could convince some others to do the same.

I feel like they could have avoided this problem by not requiring a remake of a 25 year old game not require an always online connection.

I don't think your math is correct. There are 946,728,000 seconds in 30 years. That would mean they made just over a dollar per second, which is still pretty insane.

The lack of VRR in GNOME is what had me change to KDE. I prefer GNOME in many ways, but I was tired of having to use the vrr patches to keep the functionality.

World of Warcraft. Starting out in an MMO for the first time is magical. No worries about the endgame, just the desire to explore and learn.

As other's have suggested, PopOS is pretty good. I would also consider Nobara as well. It's based on Fedora with plenty of tweaks that makes it much better for gaming. It also has the ability to quickly install NVIDIA drivers. after the first login.

I do find that the days I need it the most it's slower than molasses.

RX480 is an AMD card that came out 7 years ago, not the GTX 480.

Nvidia is fine on Arch, the drivers are in the base repositories.

For tutorials, the Arch Wiki is one of the best resources for Linux. If you are unsure how to do something, there is likely an article that states how to do it.

If you are unsure, I would install Arch in a VM before swapping.

Can you turn the screens off? I haven't flown in 5 years, but I just watched stuff off of my tablet instead.

Both are fine. Ufw has a set of applications that are defined in terms of what ports they need for convenience. You wouldn't have to know that 3389 is for RDP, you could just allow RDP. Ufw ultimately modifies the iptables, it is just another interface for interacting with it.

Isn't the biggest issue with distribution? I asked to get the shot last month along with my flu shot at my doctor's and they weren't given any.

Holly brings three decades of invaluable experience in nonprofit management, having served as a consultant, director of development, executive director, and board member for numerous organizations. Notably, she founded the nonprofit organization Artists United, dedicated to empowering individual artists and fostering collaboration across artistic disciplines for the collective good. Additionally, Holly served as the Executive Director of the BioBricks Foundation, an international, open-source biotechnology nonprofit.

The beta starts soon but this game doesn't give me much hope. It's a cool idea to combine all of the heroes, but it's being made by NetEase. The combat also didn't feel very impactful and the environments felt a bit bare.

I voted no. I would prefer this community to be more like r/Games than r/gaming. I would rather the community be about game news, reviews, and discussions.

Allowing a single day of the week will lead to more work on the moderators than a general ban. It also makes the community less usable on those days. I also worry that it will destroy viewing the community by top posts.

That's GDP per capital. I'm talking about total wealth, which is about a third of the world's total wealth.

Are there any other major publications not part of that group now? Seems like a blatant monopoly.

I think most people are just used to Window's BS, so these issues are just expected and they know how to fix them.

Linux has an easier experience getting up and running, but when they have an issue, usually it's something completely different from what they have experienced before and get frustrated.

This is why mainline OEMs shipping computers with Linux by default will be a huge step forward.

WSL2 is faster than WSL1.

WSL2 can be slower if you are modifying Windows files as opposed to the files in the WSL system.

As Lemmy continues to grow, individual game subs will begin to grow. Right now there are not enough users to sustain these individual communities.

I think the biggest issue for me was how large the map was. They did the castle and hogsmede very well, but then threw in a bunch of filler content in the other towns. If they had stuck to the more core areas only, the game wouldn't have gotten so stale later on.

Google has one advantage over other Android device makers. They make profit off of the Play Store at a much higher rate than they do from hardware sales. If this change brings more people over from iOS to Android, it will be an overall win for them.

Marvel copy of an existing game developed by NetEase? Nope
