My blood runs cold! My dignity has just been sold. nVidia is the centerfold.
They're more powerful and influential than you think - they're not going anywhere. They might change their policies to suit the times (remember Lincoln was a Republican) but the so-called "Grand Old Party" ain't going nowhere unfortunately.
No it isn't, there's no implication of that. Just that they won't reproduce until they see it happening.
"What's wrong with me, Doc?" "Well, you look like a fag, and your shit's all retarded."
Using a stun gun on a compliant driver isn't acceptable
I don't get upset about people not voting, I just believe democracy works better in countries where voting is compulsory. Also, a much easier change that few would oppose is that election day should be on the weekend. Well, the Jews and Christians might fight it out, but they both suck.
Thanks for the evidence, will have a look.
Democracy is a continuum, and we trade individual rights for collective benefits, like making healthcare and education free (and compulsory) for a better society. Americans just didn't read the contract and individuals are now fucked over in favour of the state and its oligarchs. You can disagree with me if you're an anarcho-syndicalist but my comparison relates to current, existing democracies (e.g. Belgium, Australia)
Trickle-down Jesus, with an exceptionally wide stance.
The front fell off, so just tow it outside the environment
Don't forget the Russian and Ottoman empires shared a border, and had a war the same time France and Prussia had theirs. Turkey is Europe's defence against Russian expansionism via the Caucasus. Or at least it was - now it's those brilliant and tough motherfuckers in Georgia holding the fort.
"jk, trolling"
Steady on. Erdoğan's Islamifying the place as a populist, undoing Atatürk's vision. Turkey belongs in the GCC rather than the EU if it's on its way to theocracy.
Check out the Mountain Goats song Best Ever Death Metal Band in Denton
A lot of contemporary horror is psychological, sometimes with one or two gory/violent/jump scare scenes. If you like that, watch recent ones like Talk to Me, Relic or the Babadook (all Aussie incidentally).
Hereditary is probably the best horror of the past decade, and before that, my 21st century favourite was Kill List. But there were so many more excellent horrors, slashers, psychological thrillers, and ghostly dramas last century.
Night of the Living Dead invented the zombie genre and is still probably my favourite movie of all time. Dawn of the Dead skewers consumerism and is similar but in lurid colour. The slasher craze of the 80s started with Halloween in '79 and continued with Friday the 13th, A Nightmare on Elm Street and the many sequels from those franchises.
Other good ones in no particular order: High Tension aka Switchblade Romance, Dead Snow, Eden Lake, It Follows, Green Room, Hush, The Strangers, Martyrs, and if you're really looking to punish yourself AND read subtitles, check out the works of Gaspar Noe, especially Irreversible. Deeply disturbing. Enjoy!
In Australia it's always on a Saturday, and it's compulsory to vote. Works OK for us.
Neither an American nor knowledgeable about constitutional and amendment law - would you mind elaborating please?
Occupational hazard. Doesn't mean said engineer isn't owed compensation though. On the contrary.
The referendum was yesterday. We have early access polling, access to which has increased since the pandemic, but most people still typically vote on the election day, as I did, which was yesterday - so an article from 19 July is plenty of notice for most people.
I like your Christ. I don't like your Christians.
I read your comment as "memes > art"
My cousin calls and asks if I want to go bowling.
Would be weird since my cousin is dead
Lead pipes aren't so bad. It's lead as an ion rather than an element that's the problem. The lead that led to the dumbenising and collapse of Rome was actually lead acetate, which is sweeter than sugar. They added it to wine, believe it or not. Then you get the Pb2+ ions in your bloodstream and you start to watch Fox News.
Other things grow, but corn and soybeans are heavily subsidised (not to mention genetically modified).
Doosh bagg
We really need to move on from this divisive attitude that people who don't vote the way we do, especially with such a clear democratic majority, are necessarily 'pieces of shit'. Life and politics are more complicated than that and more politically informed left-leaning voters should know better.
Fair point, but I'm wondering which part you were applying Occam's razor to - what Glassdoor did is clearly malicious!
Nuclear ain't nuclear. Uranium fission plants allow for nuclear weapons proliferation. Thorium fission plants don't melt down, don't create radioactive waste, and even use uranium fission waste so there's less remaining. It can't be used for bombs though. Why do you think the great powers opted for uranium technology? Thorium fission is a viable option, but we should stop just saying "nuclear".
I dunno, sounds like a solid Anglo-Saxon name, like Æthelstan.
I am also a dirty communist named Bort
I'd understand it as two mismatched socks.
Thorium molten salt reactor
Exaggerated handwringing, they overstated the extent and severity, and this article is probably doing the same
It's too easy to make, and weed is too easy to grow, so neither should be restricted since they're part of our culture and will be consumed anyway. Broadly true for other drugs as well since they can be got, but it's not like just anyone can make MDMA (which, if taken in a pure and controlled dose, is safer than both cannabis and alcohol incidentally, with therapeutic benefits too).
I appreciated this comment, that's a great show and tell story.
So you want people to know you use GNU+Linux, and at the same time believe you have important "private information" you're likely to disclose while recovering from a general anaesthetic?
It's a Nietzsche reference
cosmologist
uh... this is why we didn't approve of the word "cosmetology". It takes more than 2000h to be a publishing cosmologist/astronomer.
Dude, it's a party politics problem really, compounded by corrupt electoral bullshit like the electoral college, gerrymanderind and malapportionment. The two party nominees at any election have never been the parties' best and/or brightest.
