Running a fever and coughing... Wow that one took me a few minutes! I wouldn't have gotten that if it wasn't on this community lol.

Having a Pixel phone is always so great for calling these types of numbers. If it's a popular enough number, it will show on the screen like text messages of all the # options as soon as it connects if it knows it. If it doesn't it will still display voice to text so you don't have to try and remember the best option. It will even "hold" for you and when someone picks up on the business's end it will let them know you'll pick up in a second and notify you. Sometimes it will even have info on the current average wait time.

It's made calling companies so much nicer.

But what if I want to brag about my computer components or car mods that I've done?? Where do I put that so people can see it on every post?!

What the fuck does that even mean lol. I didn't think dark mode even did that?

I hate being a doomer, and this does look great... But doesn't Google own Fitbit now? And hasn't material you been out for almost 2 years now?

There's a difference between sticking your fingers in your ears and just wanted to go on an app for fun and having it turned into a negative space.

Just a bean stress test for Lemmy. Looks like the fediverse can handle the beans.

When was the last time you tried? And Wine and other similar programs have come a long way. Especially what steamdeck/proton has done for gaming is insane.

My problem right now is that even sorting by Hot on 'all' of Lemmy.world, almost all of the posts are a day old. It feels off and it's been the same posts for the last 8 hours or so. Is this because of beehaw doing their thing or what?

Yeah.. I'm all for hating on Reddit and spez but this isn't because it's anti-Spez. There are plenty of other reasons to hate reddit/spez

Upvoting because this has to be satire

I guess I should add that I've done hot, top for the day, 12 hr, new, active, etc. I have a handful of communities I've never seen on my feed. I have to go to them manually.

Maybe I'm the odd one out but I can't take any "take" seriously when people can't just use names. I've seen "Elaine" and now "Elmo" and "Muskrat".

I'm on Jerboa and when I click it it asks if I want to open it in Gmail or Outlook lol. Still working out kinks!

Outside of the US, yes

How about today? It doesn't feel very special

I can't tell if this was posted on the wrong thread or a really deep metaphor I don't yet understand.

Just think of all those old, helpful forum posts from years past with tinypic and Photobucket links that are dead. I agree memes can probably die out after time but anything informative would be bad to lose imo

You know what else would be nice, expanding pictures in comments instead of collapsing it when you tap in it lol.

Once is never, twice is always.

I'm sorry it is literally impossible to put my phone in any other pocket.

Broke a helmet and concussed myself as a teenager because my quick release on the front wheel was loose, and well you can guess what happened. Learned a valuable lesson that day to always, always check that the quick release is tight

Nothing specific but swapping to Lemmy I realized that it was a lot of big subs but not smaller video game subs :( so I guess in general if there are games you play, go be active in those communities!

I also did this until we moved out of our house that had one lol. Took a while to break the habit but man I miss that faucet. It was so finicky for others but I loved it

BEANS you idiot! Beans!

Same. I used reddit mostly for smaller communities and the hot algorithm doesn't seem to pick them up here. They're pretty inactive but they do have daily posts. If I don't go directly to that community though, I won't see them. I'm sure these things will be refined over-time.

They definitely count as ingesting books but there is a difference between reading a book and listening to an audiobook.

Reading IS the activity but I feel like with audiobooks people are typically driving or something where the book is in the background. Though maybe some people put on headphones and just sit and listen or something. I don't know if this makes me a snob lol.

Also The Expanse was the first book series I ever read. It was so good. And it made me like the show less even though the show is still great.

This doesn't really help but I think yes. I think I saw it scrolling Lemmy a few days ago but I can't remember anything else.

That unfortunately is not how browsing 'All' works. You see subs that users on your instance subscribe to.

I don't think reddit will ever actually die. I'll probably still even check it for information I need if it's a community that didn't move since I have a few eSports I follow and people post tournament threads on Reddit and no where else. But hoping that people move over still. Unfortunately it's a sub that's been re-opened and lots of users aren't even "redditors". A lot are on Reddit for the specific topic :/

I had to do a culling of all those subs. I'm happy I don't even remember half of them now, but like choosingbeggars, aita, etc. Just pure negativity and toxicity but wildly popular.

I have about 30 communities I'm subscribed to and 90% of it is the memes and shitpost communities. So 2 communities are basically all I see. They're probably the most active but it's still extremely disproportionate. I'm like you I want to unsubscribe but it doesn't seem like the right way. Maybe I'll do it to test if smaller communities content comes through.

Just adding in a couple thoughts.. there are lots of apps for this or you can keep it simple with your own spreadsheet. I've used EveryDollar for like 6 years now, it's gotten a little bloated but the core functionality is the same.

Budgeting sucks at first. It feels super restrictive, and it's a little stressful. This goes away after like a month or two and you will feel the complete opposite. It feels like so much more freedom once you get the hang of it and you will feel very empowered controlling your money.

I had a buddy try it out, saw how much he was spending on weed, then gave up trying. What you should do is just factor in your spending on weed and work around it if you need to, or change habits if you're ready. Budgeting doesn't mean you have to change your spending habits... you likely will, but it's more about being in control of your money.

It's funny whenever this is brought up on a reddit admin post. They always come with some stat saying a tiny % of users use old.reddit.com like that means people barely use it and therefore useless. But I see a lot of active posters talk about it which means those are probably the users you want to keep around lol.

I just think it's silly some of the other comments saying "sometimes silence is deafening" "they could reply or choose not to respond" (assuming they even see this and other comments).

But this just feels very witch hunt and feels like a classic reddit-type post. I don't know how much you truly care about his stance or if you're just bored on the internet, it just feels like it would be exhausting going around to different figures of services you use to get their stance on things.

Are you saying Elaine instead of Elon on purpose?

This is a good idea to try out. I'll try it thanks!

Selling my Mazda, deleting my league account, burning my Lacoste clothes, and not using any online service that uses cloudflare

Honestly this is interesting but realistically what do you do with this info?

Low key I would prefer this, but I know I'm the weird one.

Isn't it becoming the opposite of liveleaks?
