For any Americans capable of voting who aren't planning on voting, fuck you. Exercise your rights. In fact, exercise in general; a good benchmark to aim for is the ability to outrun cops. The future of monocultured, homogenous, morbidly obese, microplastic and PFAS leachate-laden Judases who filed in to toe the line for the ruling class and shun their brethren will be all that's left on earth after the richest cretins rape the planet for its last naturally occurring resources and pile into the most market-tested, fool-proof space vehicles manufactured by literally the singular winner of capitalism. Capitalism, the golden child of pyramid schemes. Those bovine-shaped humans left on earth crawling on all fours ruminating highly processed refuse will still be muttering out loud to themselves how it was all worth it. "At least I won't accidentally befriend a trans person" because it will have been years ago that they were banned and disappeared magically. Heart disease continues to run rampant on this future Earth, however. And there's of course the carbon dioxide problem. Somewhat bittersweetly for the Bovine sapiens species, the last remaining vestiges of oxygen-starved brain activity need only worry about one thing: sniffing for morsels through heaps of plastic waste.

Bernie continues to espouse truth.

Speaking for myself, my eyebrows are not raised. I remember reading that day that it was a shattered teleprompter or other shrapnel that nicked or sliced his ear, not that a bullet had passed through it. In any case, I personally don't quite understand the importance of the distinction. He was shot at either way, no? If it were a nick by glass I imagine it would've healed by now.

Edit: I forgot to mention... Fuck Trump and his ilk, they deserve being two-time losers come November.

Fuck this stupid world we've built.

That's pretty telling of the state of things.

How timely! American here who just received a bill for scoping my sinuses by an ENT specialist: insurance covered $28 out of the $415 procedure. This is on top of the $70 copay I owe for the $195 office visit. So all accounting factored in, I owe $450 for what I thought was going to be $70.

Because it was billed through insurance, the provider's hands are tied in terms of further negotiation. I would bet if I had gone in as a cash patient, I'd be much better off.

The icing on the cake is that the scoping procedure was non-conclusive.

The US healthcare insurance system is the ultimate way to make money fast, for little effort. As long as you're on the right side of it, that is.

This just kept getting sadder and sadder, RIP

Recently, 3M settled the lawsuit filed by cities and towns with polluted water. It will pay up to $12.5 billion to cover the costs of filtering out PFAS, depending on how many water systems need the chemicals removed. The settlement, however, doesn’t approach the scale of the problem. At least 45% of U.S. tap water is estimated to contain one or more forever chemicals, and one drinking water expert told me that the cost of removing them all would likely reach $100 billion.

$100 billion? Seems low. That's only five renovations to JFK.

I've done a triple take to try to see what you're referring to but all I can conclude is that he has great hair. If I showered and let my hair dry it would look exactly like that.

I cringe every time I see political funds referred to as "war chests." It's just so fucking macho. Gotta be a meme at this point.

The boys and I would call a cooler full of Mountain Dews our war chest before hopping into Halo 2.

I feel like rich people are more brazen than ever before. It's a long time before we see any guillotines for the rich in my country at least (the US). We regularly put people down who have pennies to their name though or just average Joes living their lives. Death by cop and death by violence in a broken penal system. Also completely unavoidable health issues that increasingly only the wealthy end can afford to rectify.

I actually don't personally know any Biden supporters to verify that statement. I do, however, know many people who will vote for a second term of this second-quartile-ranked president rather than the bottom quartile anaerobic bacteria that we had before. Those people are very painfully aware that not much is "fine" and the US--and the rest of the worldwide governments--have a long way to go.

Most rational people realize that we don't need a middling, above-average option as president, we need literal superheros as politicians in all seats of all branches of government. That will never happen. However, I'm one of like a thousand who vote in my local elections (not just general), which is insane considering the size of my district. It all starts small. If you want to dismantle a compromised DNC, tear it out by the roots, not the head.

I'm very glad these folks are standing up for what they think is necessary, even in the face of establishment antagonism and some unhinged cops. I hope this spreads like wildfire. We have bigger things to tackle as a species in the year 2024 than stopping sponsored genocide. The sooner we can put pressure on Israel to cease their onslaught, the better.

I've spent an unfortunate amount of time in Oxford and on that campus, and I would rather gnaw off my right arm at the elbow than to have to see those smug, punchable faces again, in person. The video was like someone opening a vault in my head I had tossed the key for.

It's really disconcerting seeing people like that, essentially maxing out at that age as individuals. Beyond their college years they just age and continue to put others down for the fun of being assholes. They will go far. Some of them will even go on to do big things, like further the class divide.

And wear what you want but fuck that shit those kids wear. Bargain bin ass looking Ken dolls.

From someone who willingly goes into the office almost every day, it's still quite obvious that for the good of the world, the less people going in overall, the better. Better for the environment, disabled people, mental health, and I imagine better for housing markets (though I'm no economist).

Thanks for introducing a new term to me today.

It's important to know the demographic of the poll sample in order to properly understand the poll data. For instance, 65 percent of the poll participants are currently on shift at Abu Ghraib.

Yeah it's a vague question for a poll. One can interpret it in a few ways and I'd count myself part of the four as well. The US progresses as if it's walking through quicksand, so it's really unsurprising to me.

Thank you for your service!

This is such a rage-inducing video, fuck my life. Just makes you want to run up and crush that taser cop's balls with a solid kick.

The upside--if the article is to believed--is that her opinion is not shared by the majority in Israel. But yes, the loudest/extremest voices do have a habit of getting amplified and guiding, or subverting, the majority. It truly does read like some kind of fanfic delusions from the Third Reich: completely nuts.

I've had a lot of trouble searching for a concrete answer to this, but does anyone know what percentage of commercial jets in the US are made by Boeing? I know it's a duopoly between them and Airbus, but to what extent is Boeing's domination?
