When people tell you who they are, believe it. Trump is going all in on christofascist authoritarianism. There will be no American democracy if he wins. People really need to set aside minor differences, participate in volunteering for Democrat campaigns, and vote blue. This needs to be spread wide and far via social networks, and any attempts to minimize it should be met with forceful condemnation.

Vote suppression is a tried and true Republican tactic because low engagement and turnout favors Republicans. A nonvote is a vote for Trump. Biden needs to move aside, but I’d vote for anyone not Trump.

Eshitification is a result of end stage capitalism. People are trying to extract their last bit of value before society goes tits up due to climate change.

Allow me to blow your mind. That’s not his real hair, it’s a hat that looks like a visor + Trump’s rug. Watch the video and it becomes clear.

Unless he's indicted (for this one), put on trial, found guilty, and incarcerated he and people like him won't stop. Only full penalty will make people think otherwise about doing what he did. Until then, wealth and the potential upside will override any perceived threat the justice system can offer.

I like this device despite not having a use for it. It’s an interesting combination of tools and can see potential with penetration testing and the like. I’m curious what other people’s take is, especially if they’ve been hands on with it.

While that may be true, I also think it’s because he feels comfortable enough to say it out loud. These people and a fanatic third of the US are that far gone.

I know this is like talking about an ex, but I find it absolutely bizarre that the news about Israeli judicial overhaul is not being covered at all on Reddit in r/worldnews. This is a bfd, and not a single post above the fold over there.

NYPost is a News Corp/Rupert Merdoch rag that runs hate and hit pieces. I wouldn’t even wipe my ass with it.

I’ve never questioned if someone was official on Reddit such as an AMA. The only people who benefit from this are content creators and corporations. It’s a money grab at best, and at worse a loss of privacy online.

Conversely, I’ve enjoyed having anonymity to speak my mind.

The old ways of the internet are being replaced by state surveillance and eshitification.

Trump used that exact phrase. The dude can’t fix a toilet, let alone the US economy.

When did wingnuts take over Shitpost? Is it just me or are there a lot of conservative hot takes being posted today?

Trump was in charge on J6. The failure to crack down then, is in part due to Trump intentionally not cracking down. I would compare this to the heavy handed crackdown on the DC Black Lives Matter protesters. You know, the one where he heals a Bible upside down. That was a violent crackdown on mostly peaceful protestors.

I like to play a game where I think of the worst thing Trump could do, and it’s most often correct. Call it Covfefe’s Razor. Trump will pocket 100% of the proceeds and use some fraction of it to extort him to keep him in line, the rest will go to Trump’s legal defense including any lawyers fixing things for Trump by ‘representing’ Rudy.

Bullshit. Bull fucking shit. He’s continuing to incite violence and press the big lie. Were it anyone else, they’d already be held in jail.

So migrate the sub to Lemmy/Kbin. Nothing stopping mods from promoting links, I suppose.

Soon enough no corner of the internet will be safe from fascism and authoritarianism. Between this and eshitification for profit, social media absolutely blows goats.

After the Teslas being named S3XY, anything is likely with this attention monger.

Will you shut up, man.

Why are you laughing? We are absolutely fucked unless we act.

When you own a piece of land, the feds own you, when you own all the land, you own the feds.

I think they serve a purpose, which is to focus the numerous posts so the whole community doesn't get overridden with by topic for the whole day.

It’ll be him. He’s polling above 50% in the primary and every indictment has only further solidified his support amongst conservatives.

I actually think this represents something much more ominous. Everyone on here assumes he’s incompetent because he’s bankrupted companies before. He’s done that with reason, and likely it was because he’s laundered money using the trick. I think in the case of the RNC and his campaign funds it indicates he’s found fraudulent means to pay for everything and he has access to tremendous amounts of dark money via foreign adversaries. The Truth Social IPO is one possible source. I actually doubt that one because he likely sees it as his own money. PACs will close the gap, but I’d be willing to bet there’s some other scheme filling his coffers. Draining alternative sources of money for GOP candidates also enables him to manipulate everyone down ballot since they’ll be aware of the scheme or stuck on his teat. This is a very, very bad sign for politics and we’re at the endgame for a US totalitarian government.

I agree, and can’t wait for it to trickle down to less popular interests. I find it to be wanting with some subjects.

What Apps are people using? Wefwef?

Agreed. Until we see evidence of global cooling, I can’t imagine it’s being turbocharged.

Yah, they are spewing a tremendous amount of hot garbage.

This is great. What AI did you use?

I’m actually surprised no one has pointed out the design flaw in the logo. It looks like a close window x button on browsers, especially iOS Safari. I keep wanting to close out of the window by clicking on it instead of the smaller other x.

Russia and other authoritarian states realized what a boon for disinformation the internet was and wrecked it starting with the 2016 election.

The one coconspirator I want to see indicted in Georgia (besides TFG) is Graham crackers.

To be clear, you’re referring to generative AI and artificial general intelligence. There are many forms of AI that downright deliver. The field is evolving at such a speed, I think nay-saying will look naïve in hindsight.

As best I can tell it’s a bridge that leads to the Eastern side of Crimea. Presumably it would be used as a supply line via southeast Ukraine to Crimea, especially in the advent that the Kerch bridge is inoperable.

While I agree with your conclusion that we need to modify behavior, I find this metric to be not helpful. You could also pack all the human biomass into a pinhead with enough pressure or gravity. Modifying behavior is easier said than done, reducing population would help too.
