Not the one.

According to the article, the crabs have been bred in an environment without predators. Therefore they have to train the crabs how to protect themselves in order to survive in the coral reefs. Picture of using puppets to train crabs

Bathroom's that way.

As I have gotten older, the frequency of episodes have decreased. In my early 40's now. I would say it occurs at least once every 3-4 months as opposed to weekly in my teens.

Create one? :) If you build it, they will come.

Trying to become a more "active" listener. My brain tends to want to immediately come up with a response without fully waiting to hear the whole conversation. Hence often, I speak before I think and/or before the person I was listening to was finished talking. I am trying to quiet my brain until the speaker finishes their commentary before I pause and work on a thoughtful reply as opposed to blurting out the first thing that comes to my mind.

Yeah looks like lemmy.world is slow today. Not surprised due to the influx of users. Ruud and the team has been working on it diligently the last couple of weeks, expanding hardware, writing code, fixing bugs, etc. Please be patient as we grow!

I think for me, it is whichever is the first episode. IMO it really sets the tone of the season. After that, I would say Zapp gets Cancelled, because a majority of the episodes with him as a major player are pretty darn funny.

Deja Fantasia - also my GW2 Mesmers name.

Agreed. I only downvote if the comment is truly offensive, purposely unhelpful, or an obvious troll. Unfortunately, as you mentioned, old habits are hard to change. Everyone will have different opinions, and communities are a means of expressing them. As a whole, I believe the fediverse is trying to foster healthier conversations than other social media platforms which often encourage toxicity.
Thank you for bringing this subject matter to light.

I feel a part of it is similar to anger of the natural process of grieving. Many of us spent years contributing to the platform and enjoyed just spending time with other like-minded members of subreddits. I personally loved reading the chains of comments. Reddit was a great source of pleasure; a place for sharing humor, frustrations, and other random cool things. Much of what made it enjoyable, including he third party apps, was taken away in a fashion that felt like the user base was betrayed, hence the utter vehement expression of some former users. It will pass in time.

Make sure to select your language for your post. I know it seems like it should be intuitive, but atm it is still giving people problems. Also check to see under your user settings that you have english (or whichever languages) selected you want to see/read/use. Communities with the same names do not share comments on different servers. Each one is their own entity. You can choose to participate in any or all.

This is the way. Used this website to help choose my last 2 mattresses and it was pretty spot on. I also recommend this site to anyone I talk to who are looking for a good comparison on mattresses prior to purchasing.

Not sure if this is taught in school anymore, but I found the outline process of note-taking to be helpful in both lectures and reading material.

This was the most decent website I came up with that describes the process: https://www.taskade.com/blog/outline-method-of-note-taking/

I felt it was the best way of quickly organizing topics, subtopics, and important items in a way that was simple to read and understand relationships between subjects.

I don't currently work out but used to and had a high-energy fast-paced random list of music I liked. When I say random, it was really random like Metallica to Daft Punk to Animaniacs to Broadway songs. One day, before earbuds were a thing, I happened to be recklessly flailing my arms on while on the treadmill and pulled my headphones cord out of the phone. Phone hit the floor blaring the song "Uncle fucker" from the Southpark movie. I scrambled to get to the phone and make my embarrassment less prolonged. Luckily, I think most other folks in the area were either too focused on their own activities or listening to their own music. Needless to say, from that day on, I was more selective in editing my playlists for various activities.

Similarly, science geeks of all sorts (biology, nature, space, math, physics, etc) should check out the mander.xyz communities.

!health@lemmy.world is not terribly active but they have pinned posts of a lot of health based communities and resources in the fediverse.

I tried kbin and lemmy, and although initially it was harder to find communities as new instances were popping up and growing, ye overall feel of lemmy was more compatible to how I felt using reddit. Being a Sync user, Jerboa and wefwef (and the other developing apps) were just a bonus. Once I learned how to use lemmy, I felt it was more intuitive than the kbin interface.

The fact that multiple people came together to work on the code, provide instances for users, and commitment to continuous improvement keeps me in the lemmy game. While I know ernest@kbin is doing a great job, I feel the nature of multiple instances in the fediverse gives lemmy an advantage.

But that's just my experience and opinion. Just happy the fediverse exists despite whichever platform users choose as their primary access to it and thankful for all who have contributed to its growth and development.

You should share this with the !backyardchickens@lemmy.ca He would fit right in!

The C.E.O. and Argentinean are my favorites.

Nah, just blackjack and hookers here.

I'd be surprised if this is a rising trend knowing how the cost of eggs has increased over the last couple of years. Just seems like a terrible waste.

Sync has mod features.

Zathras approves!

It's like Inception meets M.C. Escher. Very cool.
