I've been practicing the mercenary method for about 5 years now. Since then I've significantly increased my salary and I've been a lot happier at work. That on top of learning to say "no" has improved my career life exponentially. NO loyalty. No unpaid overtime. No going above and beyond for a company that isn't going to return the favor.

Looks like the wall of plugs you'd see in a hospital room. Maybe this room was setup like this for someone with a medical condition that required a hospital bed and several machines that needed to be plugged in?

I loath Trump but he isn't the only president to get special privileges, he just sucks at covering it up or he doesn't care.

Yep, all parents in Massachusetts are awful because of these two little shit head kids.

I think they were referring to the fact that World War 2 didn't start until 1939. The film 1917 and the year take place during World War 1.

Edited for clarification

I recently was recently reprimanded for using the term "subordinates". I was informed that term has fallen out of favor. Direct Reports is the proper way to say it these days.

I'm not entirely convinced that Trump isn't set up and supported by the Bush family so W didn't go down in history as the worst modern president ever.

This is the first time in the wild that I have seen someone correctly mention "Flavor-Aid" instead of "Kool-Aid" in reference to Jim Jones.

We should only be banning things that promote intolerance because there will never be an end to the bannings, there will always be some witch to hunt somewhere.

To answer your question, yes it is the saying the same thing, that is why banning books is so stupid. A book, movie, TV show, meme, or news report isn't necessarily going to change my mind but it might make me think about something from a perspective I didn't consider before.

Whenever I play shoegaze music it tends to upset my family.

Back then each new iPhone was such a massive improvement over the last it was like Christmas day when you'd upgrade. Now the new phones are just slightly better than the one you own. So it is hard to get excited over a new $1000 phone when you just bought one two years ago.

Where she really excels is her live performances. We took my kids to the movie on her latest tour and it was really amazing. The spectacle certainly elevated the music. I know it was a movie edited for a theater experience but props to her for putting on a 3hr plus show night after night, not really missing a beat at any of them, and doing it with a smile for her fans. Also I can't imagine the overwhelming effort required by everyone involved each night to make that show run smoothly. Truly professionals on all fronts in that regard and it's cool to see it all working.

I must add that I can't stand anything Taylor anymore. My wife and kids have her music on constantly and they've talked about her non stop since my wife went to the concert over the summer. It's been months of nothing but Taylor every minute of every day and I'm going insane.

They are rarely enforced and when they are it is usually due to some sort of significant financial loss the company suffered. Normally a company is not going to waste time and money taking a cook or cashier to court over quitting a job at McDonald's then going to work Burger King. But a senior software engineer working at Google going to work for Apple could have some real financial implications, so they'd be more likely to pursue legal action against that person. Still kinda bullshit in my mind but I get it.

Mario and Luigi were born and raised in Brooklyn.

The problem with all these conspiracy nuts is that they can never answer one simple question. Why the theatrics? If what you say is true it would be incredibly expensive, require vast amounts of resources, and strict compliance like nothing the world has seen before. If this is all about "controlling us", and the deep state/shadow government is as powerful as they claim whats with the theater? Wouldn't it be easier, faster, and cheaper to just send in the Shadow government military forces to drag us all into the streets and say comply or die?

Unfortunately getting pneumonia and it going septic is not an uncommon occurrence. Once you are septic if you don't get the right antibiotics in you quickly you'll go into septic shock which has a 40% mortality rate.

I don't care what Kerry says Pon Pon Shit is a jam

Cyberpunk 2077,Doom 2016, Doom Eternal, Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West, Zelda Breath of the Wild, and the Metal Gear Series.

Whatever method gets the job done is fine but this is the most correct answer.

Exactly! The new features are getting more and more lackluster each year and it is all just novelty stuff you look at and go "neat!" but that's about the extent of it.

As long as you are responsible with it and not harming yourself or others then I don't see anything wrong with having a drink or two to help relax.

I'm pretty sure the implication is the latter. No one will come out and directly say it but there are certainly nuts in the crowd interpreting as a call to arms. Unfortunately I've lost three friends to this trump shit and I've heard the way they twist what is said to fit their beliefs.

Damnit... here take my money.

Nah I'm sure there are a few who copped a feel back in their day.

I used MS OneNote for work going on about 8 years now and it's been fine. I've tried others in the past and have always come back to OneNote.

Was there ever a bad time to be one?

If I truly felt a company, or someone at the company, cared for me and my career I'd have no problem putting in the extra effort. Unfortunately it is a rare occurrence and most of the time decisions are revenue/cash flow related and it doesn't matter how much a company cares. At the end of the day, no matter how good things are where you work, it'll always come down to the bottom line and what value you provide vs what you are costing the company.

Nah it's way easier to point the finger at minority groups and claim they are the cause of all our troubles. It's been working great for years, why would the ruling class stop now?

That's been my theory as well.

Yep, I actually learned how to drive on a manual. Before I got married all my cars were manual transmission as well. In my late 30s from Midwest USA.

Yeah I think I have heard a thing or two about something called the chilly war or something like that. Sounds delicious at first but then you read up on it and it was a lot of dick wagging but with nukes instead of dicks.

Same. I use their chargers, cords, ear buds, and speakers and all have worked great with no issues.

As long as it is not habitual and you're not hurting anyone there is nothing wrong with indulging a bit from time to time.

Oh yeah it's totally the sugar coated version. It's funny because I was only using the term "subordinates" because that is what the software platform I was training on calls "direct reports".

Yeah I've run into that issue before a few times on a few different work machines. I haven't had it happen for awhile now that I think about it. At least two years.

RIP my One Plus 7 Pro. Best phone ever.

This is my response to all conspiracy theories. If this deep state cabal is so powerful, and has access to unlimited resources to achieve their agenda, wouldn't it be easier to just declare martial law and send the deep state army in to drag us all into the streets, point a gun at our heads and say comply or die? Why the theatrics? Is the deep state the Joker? Why not just shoot Batman in the head and be done with it?
