At what point did this minimum change from 10 to 15 to 18 and now 20? Restaurants increase the cost of food items and your tip is a proportion of that. Why would the cost of food increase AND the proportion of tip also increase? That's double dipping and yeah, people should be pissed about it

I get this kind of shit dealing with LG and Samsung support too. It's like customer experience doesn't matter in this day and age. They've cornered the market

Lol. I've seen a video in China of something like this. It's a public restroom that requires you to watch an ad accessed by QR code in order to get toilet paper. The future!

Mmm... Sure. I think it's morally correct for yourself. But the copyright people? They'll argue all day that you shouldn't be allowed to pirate it even after ownership. You need to buy the same movie on, VHS, DVD, Blu-ray, purple-ray, AND omni-ray when it comes out. After all, there's money to be made.

Sounds like you don't understand international politics. NATO is fucked if Trump gets in. If you're stupid, don't open your mouth

minimum wage at restaurants in washington state is $16.28 starting next year. It's $15.74 right now. They still expect a 18% tip. Should I just say fuck it and not tip?

You got amnesia or something? That game at release was a buggy, incomplete mess. Features originally promised and advertised were just missing. To this day, some of those features are still missing. Did you play through act 1 and somehow thought that a cutscene summarizing your growth with Jackie was the intended experience? The whole game reeked of rushed release. Hell, they still have an empty spot in the hills where the casino's supposed to be.

If you've never operated or owned a restaurant before, it's because the top 3 expenses in a restaurant are: food, labor, and paper. Controlling paper usage helps control costs significantly. That's why.

at that point, just quit. Right?

They don't all come back out alive either!

Yeah, broken support needs to be illegal. You can't even do a credit card charge back sometimes because you've had an item too long.

naw, man. Look at it this way: if you're checking yourself out, you're doing labor for them. Maybe every once in a while, you pay yourself a candy bar. Because fuck'em.

You can add blizzard to that list. That merger practically killed the studio anyway

I mean, the city I live in requires at least minimum wage paid to service staff. It's like $20/hour. They're not going to decrease their tipping expectations because you know, greed is a thing

How do you play through cyberpunk and never spawn the cops by doing a 180? It's like you didn't even play the game. But whatever. You're the bottom 1% when it comes to expectations. Literally eating shit and can't taste the waste. But blaming others? There's no wrong in blaming CDPR for cb2077's release. They fucked up and every metric agrees with that. You'd be a fool to argue otherwise.

my mindset is that if minimum wage is already a given, then I should be tipping a lot less than standard. Though doing so gets you shit treatment in future visits because tipping is more of a bribe than a remark on good service. Remarkable how all this works, isn't it?

you do realize that most large chain grocery stores cut back on check-out lanes because of self-checkout, right? You have to wait in line if you don't want to use self-checkout because of the cutting back. You're not saving time. You're just waiting extra or resigning to checking yourself out. It's shittier service and you know it.

I don't always want to eat a hot dog, but I'm constantly reminded that all good things must come to an end. When costco's CEO's gone, so will the $1.50 hot dogs. So for now, I buy one anyway because in another 5-10 years, we might not have it anymore.

triple A studio with 8 years to work getting B-? That's not expected. If it were the expectation, CDPR stock wouldn't have dropped half its value after release. It's currently sitting at 1/6 of all time high (before cb2077's release). Nobody agrees with you, buddy. Either something's in your water or you were dropped as a baby as hard as CDPR dropped cb2077.

No, rising prices of menu items increases tips as a proportion. If menu prices stayed the same and you want larger tip %, then sure. But not both. That's just greedy

It's okay, society needs people like you to consume the shit no one else finds acceptable. Thank you for your service

You're attacking me to accept shittier service? Fuck that. I've worked in food and have been paid minimum wage. I can identify lazy when I see it. You're just a bigot making conjectures and attacking people for not accepting bullshit service. Get the fuck outta here with that shit

Sure, if your expectation was for a shortened, shittier game due to a rushed development cycle, even compared to contemporaries at the time. Most people don't expect a shotty product. I mean, I don't even know how you can excuse the low effort police spawns around you. That's not even hype..... That's clearly low effort, unexcused disappointment.

is it really unrealistic that police spawns in a reasonable way and not....anywhere out of your line of sight? Your expectations have to be shit-tier low for that to be acceptable. Also, no. I finished the game on release on PC. It was a B- experience at best. The shortcuts they took were so obvious you'd have to be retarded to not see them. Maybe you just don't think about these things and your expectations are so low, you can be fed shit and still tell people it's fine. It's okay if that's you, just don't tell anyone else your opinion's worth reading.

i already explained it

Some cities require minimum wage paid toward service employees. This is about $20/hour before tips. They don't lower their tip expectations because, as you might expect, greed is a thing. You will get treated worse if you don't tip

What does covering more employees over the same period mean? I don't follow. Also, you're assuming that customers' salaries increased with COL and inflation. They haven't. These policies just squeeze value out of customers. Of course they're offended

That's no excuse. Scummy practices are scummy

I've worked in restaurants too, mate. I get that it may be a lot of work, but the experience also let me know that the service I'm getting is usually pretty subpar. I don't mind tipping good waiters, but they are pretty rare outside of fine dining. Lazy waiters, like lazy employees in any other job, are always going to be a plague on their industry.

you know, when I was a kid, safeway used to employ enough employees such that there were no lines for checking out. Well, they got bought out, self-checkout became a thing, and now there's always a line. During peak hours, you get to wait in line for self-checkout and watch people slowly check themselves out like it's somehow still a brand new concept. You're celebrating the decline of service and claiming it's the "best thing that happened to shopping". That's so sad.

I've been to restaurants with mandatory 20% tip included in the bill and let me tell you, I don't even know if I got service worthy of 10%. It seems to be more of a cultural problem though. Even when their salaries are covered, American restaurant service is pretty lackluster. Without the carrot on the stick, it doesn't seem like they're even willing to try.
