Nvidia is pretty cut throat so the chances of them doing something wrong are high, but i'm not sure about the chances of finding evidence. they must have effective policies to defeat investigations, most big companies have them.

this is the same guy that says that wfh is unethical. he clearly sees workers as his serfs since he feels entitled to their work even after firing them.

It seems that he has not even taken the time to understand the basics of how to find a job with a 10 page resume.. let alone 24.

I hope they look into how they are treating desktop clients as secondary devices with extra hassle. I'll try it if they address that.

Straight out of idiocracy

I have a better solution. If it’s too much work to list it then it’s not worth charging it.

I would hope that a similar mod that gives options to disable certain types of romances would have been better suited. So long as it doesn’t single out the types of romances he dislikes.

I am not buying them after amazon acquired them. who knows what alternative uses for the cameras they might implement.

edit: my next one is probably going to be a roborock. they seem to handle dry/wet cleaning better as well.

it's crazy that about 50% pays to watch ads.

catching up to Seiko with a copy of their springdrive is neither unique nor an innovation.... it's a copy.

i hope they can be dazzled/jammed in a way that is not illegal. just have bright lamps pointing up or something

I will never switch to something that only treats phones as "primary device" and adds extra hassle to support PC as a "secondary device". I also find very concerning the lack of understanding of the value of anonimity even when communications are private, they even mock people that want privacy and anonimity.

another non-deal breaking but still telling issue is the lack of a clear roadmap for signal.

I finally ran out windows 7 keys and had to buy a new one for win11, they cost 4-9$ online.

sounds like typical manufactured outrage from journalists trying to improve their CTR on their non-news..

who determined that it's merely 'some silly videos'?

How gracious of them. I hope this gets banned quickly.

I call them peddlers

I would expect them to include cameras that would check that you are looking at the tv and see the ads reflected in your eyes before it lets you play non-ad content.

This seems like a deflection rather than accepting the game "is the way it is" no matter the reason.

of course not.

fortunately op seems to be dedicated to mostly spamming musk ads so i blocked him.

acquire a new hobbie. hopefully something that is hard to monetize.

kbin admins/global mods. that's what I'm trying to find out from this post.

I think that the most disappointing aspect of obama's presidency was that he did not do anything about china imposing those bullshit rules. he should have imposed some balance or outright make it illegal for those companies to put themselves in a situation where their ip's will be sucked dry.

I would prefer if blocking hides or removes any kind of interaction between us. One issue I have noticed is that when you block someone you can’t see any replies which unfortunately hides comments from others

if they are capturing crimes shouldn't the police follow up to arrest the people in the videos?

the poem poem poem thing shows that the llms actually do memorize at least some training data. chatgpt changed their eula to forbid users from asking it to repeat words forever after this was in the news.

also as far as I understand there are usually fair use and non profit exceptions for use of training data but they generally limit how it can be used. so training a model for commercial purposes might be against the license of the training data.

I don't necessarily agree with the nyt but they seem to be framing this as someone aggregating their data and packeting it in a better way so they are hurting their profits. i don't really see that as necessarily being true. they could argue the same about google news showing their news...

Why don't you quote what I said instead of your inversed/distorted version of it?

I don't think that having some semblance of knowledge of history is chaotic. I do think that if admins want this instance to trhive they woudl address this types of issues if they have the resources. It doesn't matter if you don't agree.

I like this one, it's difficult to blame anyone: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NIOh9-RoAaE

It’s like trying to detect america from a coast in eurasia using sound

that's the theory. previous models also were supposed to be doing 3 digit math but they dicovered that the questions were in the training data.

so you should look into what happens when people ask chat gpt to repeat a word forever, it prints the word for a while and then prints training data, check this link https://www.404media.co/google-researchers-attack-convinces-chatgpt-to-reveal-its-training-data/

edit: relevant part:

It also, crucially, shows that ChatGPT’s “alignment techniques do not eliminate memorization,” meaning that it sometimes spits out training data verbatim. This included PII, entire poems, “cryptographically-random identifiers” like Bitcoin addresses, passages from copyrighted scientific research papers, website addresses, and much more.

“In total, 16.9 percent of generations we tested contained memorized PII,”

I should also reiterate that I agree that the intent is to avoid memorization, but they are not successful yet.

I think his point is that the person he responded to is proposing well meaning feeling based policies without having any real knowledge of any of the negative impacts his policy would have.

yes. as long as it's legimitate users. the moment they start creating fuckyou\ alt accounts just to harras I think they should be banned.

let me make it simpler for you. you mischaracterized the creation of an alt account to stalk somoene as "A guy complained about brigading downvotes" you should slow down and reconsider the facts.

you might be right but some numbers might back up your claim. I doubt that servers could heat water as much as a nuclear reactor. datacenter coolers certainly don't have to pressurize the water to prevent it from boiling, it doesn't get that hot.

It would give them time to stop offering services and degrade a few since competitors are under the same pressure.

The discussion is public so it’s plain to anyone that this is how you classify anyone that doesn’t have your views. So your bullshit accusations just means “you don’t agree with me and you have arguments I don’t like”. You forgot to call me a fascist.

They lost me as a user when they decided i wasn’t smart enough to manage my installed extensions so they effectively implemented a “time bomb” to disable them while promising that they would update the certificate before the current one expires. Well they didn’t and broke firefox Iirc it took them 1 or 2 days to fix the problem they created. I don’t have confidence in them after they messed up like that.

edit3: I should have started by pointing out that you could have read my comment in the first place if you really wanted to know what I wanted to say, it's unambiguous so there really should be no confusssion and it's clear i never referenced colllonialism or any of the other bullshit claims made here. given that you are voting down some of my other comments after this interaction shows your true intentions, even if you avoid voting down this one. it seems that some people still don't understand that all this info is public on the fediverse.

well It's not the real issue at point but if you want me to ellaborate. there is some really weird thing that happened during the enlightehment period where a lot of people in europe argued that slavery was not right, supposedly according to historians (and I'm still not buying this part as it seems too self serving) it was because it wasn't aligned with christian values. I'll spend some time looking into william rutheford when I have time to seee if there is any factual evidence behind this claim. anyways the point is that europeans spend massive amount of resources and their own lives ending the slave trade in africa by forcing africans to stop enslaving other africans. that's what I was talking about. I never said europeans enslaved or didn't slave anyone.

the context was a submission about reparations. i am not extremely knowledgable about history but my argument was that many europeans died ending the slave trade, be it against pirates, slave traders or diseases in africa, and they were not doing it for profit so anyone asking for reparations is denying all that sacrifice.

edit: since some people are claiming i'm an asshole as if that somehow justified the stalking i feel I shoudl clarify. the weird part is that those people were willing to pay a prize for their beliefes and embark on ships on expeditions where they literraly had no expectation of profit and were risking their lives. I'm not saying that's wrong . i'ts so incredibly admirable that I personally have a difficult time believing it. to put this in better context for current times in my views this is as if many people suddenly decided to give up their cozy lives in america and decided to go to third world countries to help them. it happens but it's nowhere near the volume of volunteers needed to uplift all people from poverty.

edit2: trolls might think that they "got me" by making me spend the time producing a real answer but in reality it just shows that oxide was lying and this people are either pro-slavery or just harrasing.
