Is there an actual history of this sort of thing or is it only from Inglorious Basterds?

Things that take place over too long a period of time. Like heart disease, injustice, climate change, diabetes, addiction etc. We're evolved to prioritise short term pleasure over long term benefits, hence that cigarette, drink, line, burger is so difficult to say no to.

For me it's is:

  • Final Fantasy 7 (sheer volume of classics, listen to it regularly)
  • Resident Evil 2 (PSX)
  • Tekken 3
  • Silent Hill 2
  • Spyro (come on, it's Stewart Copeland!)

Selfishness within reason is good.

Same as it Ever was

Oy. Jewish slang for non Jewish I think. (Not spelling the whole thing as I don't want to risk mod ire)

As an addiction therapist, I think it would be a long time. As a nurse, about 6 hours before the number would start rising awfully quick.

Kremlinology tripped me up way more than it should have.

Came here for Max Payne, awesome OST

Any SoulsBorne, Doom (mostly Brutal Doom), PSX Resi's or SOTN. Mostly the total comfort of playing what I know so well for a wile.

They look like toothless mimics

The Raid 2. I thought I know what it would be like but it blew past every expectation. Amazing action film that's arguably better than the first.

A memory palace full of blood and aliens, I can relate lol.

Should watch The Devil's Advocate. Or The Firm.

Saw them a few months ago, absolutely amazing! Fantastic show

Sounds like you have the thought stuck in your head, it can help to complete a thought record (I would recommend this 7 column one from get.gg https://www.get.gg/free-downloads-alphabetical-list-of-cbt-worksheets-information-sheets-n-to-z/ ). Doing something like this a few times can weaken the thought by addressing the emotion behind it and the lack of evidence for this on an ongoing basis. If the emotion is shame or guilt say, by finding evidence of times where you were very competent and confident can weaken those feelings by showing this as a one off.

Yeah took me forever to find mine, about 20 pages. Worth it for the nostalgia hit though. GSM arrange by age though so if you can guess when you got it that might narrow it down for you.

Finished SuperLiminal last night which I really enjoyed, really intuitive and flow inducing game that makes you think and has a nice message to it. Started Shadow Warrior 3 but I'm not sure it's for me. Biggest recent ones have been Brutal Doom (Extermination Day) which is unbelievably good and Halls Of Torment (Vampires Survivors but like Diablo)

Excellent game. Such an improvement on a classic.

Karen maybe? Unless there's a famous Lauritzen...

It's the thought that counts

🤞🤞Maybe I'll get lucky this time 🤞🤞

I see you've mentioned Zdoom, I"ve sank many hours into Brutal Doom (Extermination Day), Blade of Agony and Golden Doom. Found the Hakros Launcher recently which opened some doors (though not the most up to date, still a decent gateway).

Can never beat Doom. If you're PC you should consider the mod Brutal Doom, updates the engine and is relatively easy to do.

Seconded

A Samsung F400,it was a slider that slid up to reveal the number pad and down to reveal a speaker. Was great for music, don't remember much more about it. Moved on to the Blackberry Bold after that as far as I remember.

I have not, but am going there right now! Any particular playlist?

I'm nowhere near him and I put that game down already. A bit too reaction heavy for me. Barely got through initial Bloodborne.

It's a mood that adds mouselook. I don't know about steam deck but it's literally 3 downloads (gzDoom, Brutal Doom and Extermination Day) and a whole new campaign with new weapons. Really excellent.

(on reread I see it was gzdoom, oh well)

This doesn't answer the question, but is some interesting info https://youtu.be/WwrrKlII4XA?si=WfR-87RdEBHVAgYB
