this is going to be happening a lot with the way that reddit is going right now. lots of community names are being squatted by trolls for no reason than to piss other poeple off.

what you can do tho is ask the administrators of the instance, in this case Ruud

the community over on reddit saw the shape that shit's gonna turn next month and now we're all scattering and looking for places to land. this platform is close enough to what we came from that heaps of us are landing here.

this is the busiest instance, by the way. not sure about other people but i'm maintaining an account on this instance separate to my primary account simply because i can access stuff faster from here

yeh true. eg redditors are using lemmy to do stuff and kbin for surfing. at least i'm doing that simply because the feed loads up faster and has more content

that's good advice for those who might be bothered by legal nudity or are in a place where it's inapproprate to view it, but if people filter by subscriptions then it shouldn't be much of a muchness. for example i haven't subscribed to any communities on that instance and the only times i see their posts is when people on other instances link to them. once this place picks up enough traffic for people to no longer watch the all page then that problem will go away

i'm on windows desktop. the web interface leaves much to be desired. i'd personally be happy with an app in the windows store
