Any gamepad without vibration feels lifeless to me. This was one of the first gamepads I bought for PC, the Thrustmaster Dual Analog 4. No vibration, L3/R3 require a lot of force to press, no analog movement on the triggers. I guess what you get is what you pay for but man I don't wanna go back to cheapo controllers...

Steam Controller is of course an unbeatable classic, almost it's own category with the weird but charming touchpads.

Of the more conventional controllers I'm a big fan of my current Gulikit KK3 Max. I was looking for a controller with Hall-effect joysticks, and this one looked like one of quality, so I decided why not eh. Feels like a good controller when I use it, so I'm content with it.

Bought Dicey Dungeons as a good one to play on Deck. I can run it with the TDP on the GPU set to 3w, which increases the battery lifespan impressively, while still running great! Plus the game itself lends itself well to the deck I'd say.

Playing FH4 too, trying to get all the playlist related achievements before it's too late 😋

One thing I've noticed is that you can't be signed in from two places, so if you decide to play on desktop after playing on the deck, you need to sign in again...

All this text, yet nowhere its mentioned whether it runs Doom. Clearly the most important thing to run on any device

But why? Microservices do have some good advantages in some scenarios

Maybe FancyZones from Powertoys will do the trick?

Blue light filters can still be nice at night right? As the blue light can keep you awake.

There has been an issue open on their GitHub for a while now for OneDrive support. Hope the dev manages to get around to it eventually

I know that in Tixati you can set the download priority to 'Sequential'. Then VLC should be able to play it while it's downloading.

On a similar note.. I haven't been able to find an open source keyboard for Android that has swiping. Anyone know of one maybe?

Don't we all struggle with domain driven design sometimes

This video by Veritasium was pretty insightful on the topic.

But I guess we'll have to see about "store now, decrypt later"...

Great, just bought one on Tuesday. Time to refund and rebuy I guess?

Interesting, learned something new from my silly comment!

I've played Yakuza 0 with Heroic on the Deck. The game ran well, no problems. Just had more issues with cloud sync between desktop and Deck (manually activate a sync), and achievements not working. Eventually got so fed up that I rebought the game on Steam to get those two working again...

I put in a request asking for them to reimburse the difference between original and sale price. It's a long shot but hey why not y'know?

No more reddit on my phone to doomscroll. I do still check it occasionally on desktop, for some niche subreddits, but not really beyond that.

Only negative is that I added Instagram reels to my doomscrolling routine. I feel like reels are more brainrot than reddit was... Should definitely work on getting insta out of my routine!

Other than that no major changes from Lemmy i think.

Recently picked up PlateUp, can definitely recommend that one as well. It's like a roguelike Overcooked. If your relationship survives this surely you can handle it all

Got back into Elite Dangerous big time. Gathered the courage to go to Colonia finally! The journey wasn't as bad as I expected. Spread it out over two days and it's very doable! I'll stick around the Colonia region for a bit and then its on to Sag A*

First thing that comes to mind is Dance Monkey. Certainly doesn't help how popular that song was. It's mostly the way that it's sang that irks me

I'm running my trusty ASP Explorer, engineered to a max jump range of about 65ly.

I'm pretty sure you can make the journey with less jump range, but the more you have, the more comfortable it will be. Just be sure to take as many neutron stars along the way as you can! 😁

Fellow Ex-Windows Phone user who misses the UI. I've always used Launcher 10 to emulate the Windows Phone experience. Works quite good but sadly it's a bit buggy on my OnePlus 6. Tends to crash and it will not always show all the apps in the app list.
But this looks good! I'll definitely give this a try.

Slowly getting through Lego Bricktales. Building on a flatscreen isn't as satisfying as the real thing, but it's a nice little game to play on Deck.

It does feel pleasant and it gets words mostly right, but I can't seem to get it to work in my local language...

Hoping they keep developing this one cause it feels smooth but it definitely needs more work

Thanks for asking! They got back to me and said they'd "make an exception" for me. I now have a solid 150€ on my Steam wallet. Sooo, I'm still a happy Steam Deck owner!

Works great, I think I'll use this one then, thanks!

I'm no economist, but banks are pretty useful from how I understand it. Lending out money people don't use is like creating money out of thin air. Helps people buy houses and everything. I tried looking for the video I saw on this topic, it's something like "how banks create money out of thin air".

At 17:42 in the vid he talks about now algorithms, specifically one with vectors. His explanation is pretty good and comprehensable for not mathematically gifted people

I distrohopped at the start, no idea what I started with but the first one I settled on was Solus. Still a big fan of Budgie, and the OS felt easy to use, yet had the possibility to download stuff like Spotify as well.

Can't help but be a little anxious about it being closed-source, but it a really good program still

Are there any fancy frontends for it on Linux? I found OpenRGB a few years back through Artemis, but I believe that's Windows only...
