Can confirm they're real as well as the reaction
Even Google products have a longer lifespan 😖
I've since moved on to Tidal. Bought it at $30 when root mods started to be developed, but never really went anywhere.

That's Louis Rossman, basically the head of the right to repair movement (nobody's really the head but for most intents and purposes it's this guy)
If you support the right to repair, or even if you don't, it wouldn't hurt to look into his stuff
Idk man sounds like you're just not working hard like Whoopi is.
Have you tried making coffee at home??
They'll get a slap on the wrist fine that nowhere near accounts for the amount of money they made doing this.
Older chip doesn't have a 3.0 controller. While disappointing, not really an artificial limit
(Android fan btw)
I can load a pirated copy onto a modded console, does that mean that Nintendo is liable for their software being used for piracy?
Honestly how fucking dare they mess with communication like that, especially with no notice. I've been missing messages from my roommate and dad with no sign of anything being misconfigured. It's one thing for things to be inadvertently broken from rooting, but doing it on purpose under the table is disgusting behavior
No fucking way they stuck with mini HDMI I swear to God. The only thing I wanted from a new gen was an HDMI port designed to actually be used
And they kept the same WiFi / Bluetooth chip, known for being completely unstable and recommended to be supplemented for almost any project
Huh?? They won this one but not the Apple one??
Get a cheap 2.5" SATA enclosure or an m.2 enclosure and throw a real SSD in it. That's what I've been doing and I get significantly higher speeds for significantly cheaper, as well as not having any fail on me
She is asking for privacy

While the implementation of an A/B update system wouldn't be drag and drop from Android to a different OS, they absolutely could implement the same idea to prevent this issue.
The likely reason as to why is storage space, you need two copies of the system, while only one is running at a time. They probably put as little space into these infotainment systems as possible.
If they put more in new models, they'd then have to support two methods of updating the system. It's easier to tell the customer on the rare occasion that an error does happen "oops we made a fucky wucky it's on you to fix it"
Definitely not as big as it used to be. Lineage, Graphene, and Pixel Experience are just about the only players left. Graphene doesn't officially support anything other than pixels actively supported by Google though.
Ads in any kind of app store search should SUPER NOT BE ALLOWED. Microsoft does it, Google does it, even the Apple app store has it. I don't want my grandma to be looking for her bank app and download Fast Cash Transfer Free 2024 Edition instead
The fact that it even supports vulkan, and BattleEye has a Linux version, they just don't use it
I'll just be happy to have RCS support, I don't want to have to keep emailing pictures to people on iMessage. I could care less about whether I can play 8 ball with them
Gamers: We've removed you DRM and gotten better performance, your DRM is obviously causing a hit
Denuvo: Nuh uh
Like seriously we're not gonna find out? The fact that the DRM has been bypassed means it's useless anyway. All it does it hurt paying customers
Off topic a bit, but you probably have met a Jew. They're just normal everyday people and prolly don't go out telling everyone they're Jewish. Antisemitism always confused me as a kid because the people in my life I knew were Jewish you wouldn't be able to tell unless they told you.
There's a guy that throws his trash out the window on TikTok. If it makes it in the can it's a good week and if he misses it's a bad week. Calls it the garboscope. My point here is that you can at least skip the stairs
I'm not sure what's worse, that "less hated" would be a serious brag in the printer industry, or that it's not even true for the ones claiming it
Google fucked around too long for me to consider using any of their new services and I'm working on dropping the old. Got bit in the ass with Allo, Hangouts, GPM, Inbox, and latestly Domains, which I thought was safe.
Holy fuck I hope they get the pants sued off of them
So there are two arguments being made in this situation. The first is that because Google kills off services and products all of the time, that taking their word for a 7-year promise is foolish. In other words, you might not want to trust them because they killed off a Pixel Pass that 25 people signed up for, a Google Podcasts app that was basically a browser in an app shell that was given a proper replacement, a niche business presentation screen in Jamboard, and Stadia…freaking Stadia. They gave you all of your money back and let you keep the controller, guys.
C'mon guys they had a "proper replacement" and let you keep the controller! They're not all that bad! 👅🥾
I'll never forgive them for Google Play Music.
I do however believe they're going to stick to their word here though. They make the processor and the OS, it'd have to take some extreme ignorance to fuck that up. It's not like they're reliant on Qualcomm to release new drivers for the chip, one of the big reasons devices stop being updates.
I'm pretty sure you can still get brother, Canon, and Epson ones
The Verge reached out to Amazon, Sky, and On Running with requests for more information but didn’t immediately hear back. Twitter responded to The Verge’s email with a poop emoji
Hell of a way to run a company lmao
This thing looks like it should be controlling a submarine
He also runs a tech repair shop in New York, I could see him being in a lot of tech stuff you're seeing
Disable 2g by default ??? Profit?
I'm not sure what's so hard about this, I get that 2g goes further for emergencies but it's basically useless for anything else, have it be enabled if needed (and communicate that with users when first disabling it)
Google Apple and Samsung are all working on / have satellite SOS, which should replace the long term need here
Since net neutrality was repealed Comcast hasn't let me torrent anything faster than a few hundred kbps, even on Linux ISOs. I had to get a VPN just for that.
Spite mostly. I have small QoL improvements, but mostly because Google says I can't do what I want with my device.
Specific reasons:
No longer working:
I'm 20. I haven't made it big but I've moved into a place with my best friend, have paid off my car without help from my dad, have a steady job making good money, can work on my own car, and have friends that make good company. I'd say I'm proud from getting all of this in the 2 years since high school
The large Mario thumbnail prevents me from reading the quote in anything but his voice
My professor made me install TeamViewer to our lab computers despite strong pushback from me, and perfectly functioning ssh access through the campus VPN. I can't wait to send this to him.
