Completed my first run today!

There's a road near my house that has over ten barber shops on it. The road is about half a mile long. I'm not sure of the percentage, but they can't all be legit.

I was in Ibiza with some friends (we met famous drug smuggler Howard Marks in Manumission, but that's not the point of this story). One night two of us were out in San Antonio town, and on the way back to our hotel we spotted a mannequin outside a clothes shop. It was clearly bin collection day the following day, so obviously they didn't want it any more and clearly we could, indeed we must take it back to our hotel room and put it on the balcony. So we picked it up and walked back towards the hotel. I'm in front holding it across the shoulders, my mate behind me holding the legs. We're walking past bars and everyone is laughing and cheering us (drunk British people, we'll cheer anything out of the ordinary).

Then the police turn up in a van. You hear horror stories about being taken to the police station which is miles away and having to pay hundreds in fines, so I instantly become sober. One of them opens the back of the van and says, "In, in." So we put the mannequin in. In fear and trembling I ask, "What about us?"

And he just says, "You go. Go!"

I've never run so fast in my life.

If my regular Apex Legends experience applies, I've got about 30 seconds to live and no hope of my teammates reviving me.

I bought a vinyl copy of Beggars' Banquet by the Rolling Stones for 50p despite not having a record player. Fast forward six years and I now have a full stereo system, a collection worth over £10k and regularly order limited edition albums from small bands costing me large amounts each time. Send help.

I go to the gym three times a week. I started working out to lose weight and improve muscle mass and tone, and because I fell out of love with running. Last time was yesterday - bench press, overhead press and chin-ups. There's something primal about lifting heavy weights that makes it enjoyable (much like the other poster said about boxing).

Happy birthday from an internet stranger! Treat yourself to something you like to do, you deserve it.

Written by, and for, cunts.

The first Roman fort on the site of the castle was likely built around 55AD.

Streets of Rage 2. Honourable mention to FFVII and FFVIII.

Terry Pratchett taught me that wind is caused by all of the trees waving about.

My wife's best friend was called Harriet Potter. I thought nothing of it until we were visiting New York in 2009 and the guy in the Warner Bros shop made a huge deal of it.

The T-Mobile G1 was my favourite phone ever.

anti name anti-theft-device on old bad site. anti join Lemmy, small user base, anti name available, boom.

Ah, so you're a linguine man.

Streets of Rage 2 is my favourite game soundtrack ever, but the first one is excellent too.

What Does Your Soul Look Like, Pt. 2, by DJ Shadow. On a weekend away, drinking wine with a Spotify playlist on.

I'd play the hell out of that.

Pleasure for me comes from achievement. The time I first ran 5k in under 30 minutes, or the first time I deadlifted more than my own bodyweight. Achieving these things gives you that nice feeling. Yeah, there are people who can run faster or lift heavier, but I try and concentrate on my progress - doesn't always work but I know deep down I'm getting better at the things I choose to do.

I bought it because my mate told me it was more like Diablo 2 than 3. I played it for 4 days and haven't touched it since. £55 down the drain.

I use a variation of this to write music rounds for quizzes. Run lyrics through a translator then back to English and get people to name the song. My last round was called Korea Change (i.e I translated it to Korean and back).

A fellow old person! I'll add Ocean Software and US Gold from the Commodore era.

Is this Pizza Tower? My son's obsessed with it.

Exquisite Corpse by Poppy Z. Brite is an experience.

Happy birthday!

That's crazy. A friend of a friend runs a Plex server, and I've seen how much is on there. If he offered me access I'd be all over it.

I bought digital, sadly.

I like your comment, but autocorrect changing 'jungles' to 'jingles' has really cracked me up.

Check out Since I've Been Loving You by Led Zeppelin. The kick drum pedal squeaks all the way through, and they left it in.

If you're on Twitter, the account @foreigncovers posts covers in other languages.

"We've got plenty of hearsay and conjecture. Those are kinds of evidence."

I wish to subscribe to your newsletter. "On accident", fuck me. "I could care less", too.

I guess rock 'n' roll is king.

That's mesothelioma. You're thinking of what happens when the doctor tells you you've got a different disease to the one you actually have.

Record collector here too. I can tell you exactly when I started, and it was when I saw a copy of Beggar's Banquet by the Rolling Stones for 50p in a charity shop. Didn't even have a record player at the time. Now I've got 471 records and counting and spend far too much money on the hobby.

My 10-year-old son was hopelessly addicted to this for months.

I work from home a lot so I can use my record player, and I've got all kinds of stuff ranging from Taylor Swift and Lana Del Rey to Electric Wizard and Monolord. I write for a gaming website on the side and often get sent soundtracks to review, so I can spend ages on that as well. It's mostly what I'm in the mood for, although if I need to concentrate it has to be something without lyrics or I lose focus.

There's an excellent greentext with that as the punchline.

Dust. Wind. Dude!

I have to tell you that I've been compelled to listen to the Tiny Toon Adventures theme song on Spotify, because your username has been stuck in my head all evening.
