Yes, but you need Windows Professional to act as a server. Windows Home editions can only act as a client.

Wow, you are right. The Wayback Machine shows that OP's link is from 2021:

I spent 30+ years thinking that a pony was a baby horse rather than a smaller type of horse. You know how cats have kittens and dogs have puppies? Well I thought horses had ponies.

Even all the times that Lisa Simpson wanted a pony, I just thought it was similar to how a kid might want a puppy.

I would like to be able to take compiled machine code and generate human-readable source code.

Imagine being able to fully understand and even modify all closed-source, commercial software.

A large coke from McDonald's has 290 calories of sugar.

Maybe this will unintentionally help a bit with America's obesity problem.

You time traveled to the Middle Ages to avoid cars? That's dedication!

Yes. With WiFi cameras you don't need to run any cable, just plug in to the nearest power outlet. That's very appealing to people.

I did the same thing! It was pretty astonishing how many times I tried to go back there.

for a picture of a pet it is less important

What? That would likely give away the location of your home.

same price no matter where they are

This is not at all true. Here is a map showing Big Mac prices across the US:

You can just use Sky Map and search for Sagittarius.

What you actually want to search for is Sagittarius A*, but Sky Map doesn't have that, so the Sagittarius constellation is close enough to give you the general direction.

Why mess with cash and money laundering? Just create a large chunk of gold.

When I first joined lemmy, there were bean posts everywhere. People kept posting shitty puns about beans with pictures of beans, and people kept upvoting them. But it eventually died down.

Could these kinds of posts just be a fad on reddit right now?

You mean like Brock Turner, the rapist?

My understanding is that the problem with the gas mask is not oxygen, but rather it's so small that CO2 builds up, so the prisoner feels that they are suffocating.

That's a cool quiz, and it's from 2022. I'm sure AI has improved since then. Would love to see an updated version.

TX has none

Huh?

I visited Dallas for the total solar eclipse. I got everywhere I needed using their DART train system.

I can't believe someone downvoted you for asking about the acronym.

I get frustrated when the title, body, and comments all use an acronym, but I can't figure it out from context. Even more frustrating is when the linked article also doesn't explain it.

Also: "Thou shalt not take... moochers into thy... hut."

Can you give an example of one? Last time I looked it seemed like all the major brands only had smart TV options. So I end up using streaming dongles on smart TVs to avoid the lag, but I would much rather just have dumb TVs.

I heard projectors don't have any smart garbage. I might try that next time I need a new large TV.

You mean like electrolysis? That's already in use, and has been in use for a very long time.

If you meant something new that doesn't require a bunch of energy input, then yeah, that would great.

I read that in Alex Trebek's voice.

It's still an option for me on the desktop, not mobile site.

Lol, that reminds me of Seinfeld's taking vs. holding reservations joke:

I was in a pilot state (Arizona), and I looked into it. It's only for federal taxes. You need to file state taxes separately.

There are already several online tax solutions that offer free federal and charge for state.

you could order something online and have it pop up right next to you minutes later

There are a few companies that want to accomplish that, but instead of using pressurized gas they want to use a miniature subway system.

For example: https://www.pipedreamlabs.co/

That's a neat website, but is there any way to rotate the countries?

Why is increasing salinity of the ocean bad? Doesn't that happen all the time on a much greater scale as ocean water evaporates into the atmosphere?

I got a decent motion-activated trail cam for around $50. It has no connectivity, so I need to occasionally transfer videos from the SD card. Works great.

If you are logged into reddit, you can just set the account preference to opt out of the redesign. No extension needed.

I'm pretty sure the serving PC needs to be Windows Professional, not Windows Home, so that might not work.

If you don't care about owning physical copies of the games, you should look into an Everdrive. It's a special cartridge that lets you play downloaded ROMs on your original NES.

Hah. Whenever I am aware that I am dreaming, I try to look in a mirror. It always does something weird. Like one time my reflection's eyes were shut. Another time the mirror was like a window to the real world where I could see myself sleeping in bed. That was trippy.

I'll have to try looking at my phone.

Lol, that video shows you how to measure voltage, then multiply by current to calculate power. It totally skips over measuring current.
