I wouldn't recommend playing the remake without playing the og, dirge of cerberus and crisis core and watching advent children, kinda required to do before playing the remake, remake is more of a sequel than a straight remake. Also also you might end up not loving the remake after doing all that depending on how you feel about cc, dirge and advent children. So...yeah.

If you're at all into DMC or Bayonetta or just spectacle fighters in general, I'd recommend giving Soulstice a try, it's not as refined as the better examples of the genre but it's still a pretty cool game with some neat gameplay ideas. It also looks very nice.
