Could you just get an extension that changes your user agent? They exist. I wonder if it would work.

As a release engineer for Electronic Arts for 13 years, this looks like to me a copy of either the source folder from Perforce, a devs machine that had synced a stream, or the same from a build machine. It's not uncommon to use batch files and python scripts to reconfigure a workspace to switch workspaces. I see a solution file in there.

I would bet that particular file is an automation script to configure a machine for development.

Even the devs hate denuvo. It slows down the build times and makes it hard to debug.

Try being a e release engineer and having to use it. It's awful. You have to configure your nodes to connect to their servers and then wait for the "magic". Quite often it would time out and this was for a mega video game studio. Denovo is trash.

Ironic that ZD-Net is speaking of relevancy. Ha

As a 15 year long editor to Wikipedia, this comment is exactly how i feel and it's hilarious.

edit: my God i just waisted 2 minutes of my life I'll never get back reading that article. 40 editors are a SPEED BUMP when it comes to editing the Wikipedia. Also what's up with the terms they are using for group of editors? Lol

What id like to see is the appeal to the admin thread on the Wikipedia. Instead we have a slate article about this click bait bullshit.

Right i posted the same thing on another nothing chats thread a few days ago. It's such a bizarre statement that's just not true.

You could always try volunteering for an organization you both like together. I've met several friends by doing this, plus it's fun.

Awe as a dev this kind of bums me out a little. I wonder that they used for DRM. Those sales go directly to the devs in way of raises and retention.

Granted this is not EA where i worked, but if you enjoy the game, i encourage you to buy it.

Also NOTE: I DO NOT SUPPORT DRM, just the pay checks of the devs as i was one for quite some time.

And layoffs all the way down.

The owner of Patagonia is also doing that.

This makes me roll my eyes. From the Sunbird faq:

Will the app [sunbird] be open source?

Some of the messaging community believes that software that is open source is more secure. It is our view that it is not. The more visibility there is into the infrastructure and code, the easier it is to penetrate it. By design, open source software is distributed in nature. There is no central authority to ensure quality and maintenance and by putting that responsibility on Sunbird, development would not be feasible. Open source vulnerabilities typically stem from poorly written code that leave gaps, which attackers can use to carryout malicious activities.

To help satisfy our own ambitious goals of providing total privacy and security, we are currently undergoing a third party audit that will validate our security, encryption and data policies and plan on receiving ISO 27001 certification after launch.

Sure Jan.

I switched. Still getting a handle on the ferdiverse. The developer for Sync said he was creating a Lemmy app. I use Jerboa currently.

Right, that's what I was thinking. They need to fire their marketing company, because almost certainly it's tied to inventory and expiry dates. That's why at the restaurant I work at, our family meal is always something bizarre. Like last night it was pasta with a bachemel, grilled potato cubes, and fried chicken...... All mixed together. 😫

At least you can have the freedom to be aggravated by a progressive. I live in Texas with corrupt politicians leading our state. Ever hear of ERCOT? I have, daily through text messages to "conserve energy or else". Just fix the fucking grid hot wheels. Stop wasting money on idiotic floating barriers that are illegal in the Rio Grande. I'm here for someone that wants to at least attempt to change something.

edit: punctuation

Here's the GitHub for it. I agree that I'm not one to just run a script blindly. https://github.com/ChrisTitusTech/winutil

edit: I'm such an idiot. My God. So i ran a different os hardening script. Guess what my dumbass forgot to do? Confirm the local admin username and password. Guess who's locked out. Me. Woooow lol don't be dumb like me. Create a checklist before hand. I guess i learned a fucking lesson lol.

Neat link. I really like using https://ballotpedia.org/Main_Page when researching local candidates.

I love MAM

Yeah same, from a +44 number for me. I laughed and reported it as spam.

Visual Studio

Some trackers that i use, i indefinitely seed things and so i have a crazy ratio. My book tracker is one of these. Also quite frequently I'll use a token to freeleech the file, so it increases my ratio or I'll buy it as freeleech for the site in the next week. This might be what you're seeing.

I have my partner to make sure that doesn't happen. He's pretty observant.

Also I'm grounding myself by visiting my sister in a few days. She's my only living relative. It will be needed.

Alamo Drafthouse plays strange ads.. a lot of times they are movie reels from ages ago that follow the theme of the movie or it's a voice mail from an angry guest about how they got kicked out from the theater. Usually this: https://youtu.be/1L3eeC2lJZs?si=Z4i3cHrZ-twfVD_S or weird shit like this https://youtu.be/Ze5kyR3ogso?si=jTRIC-q6bcOjNHvC

My God same. Try being a line cook at a ramen restaurant with what seems like 400 garnishes. :'(

I do this. That fucking troye sivan song haunts me now.

I wonder how long they've been working on this integration and i bet they didn't see this coming: Apple says iPhones will support RCS in 2024 . I mean it's technically not the same product. RCS will replace sms/mms and "Nothing Chats" is an iMessage back door (?).

Yeah in the article they state:

And Korkerd is optimistic. “We have something like this in Thailand,” she said. “We want people in America and Denver to try something new from Asia, and we don’t see this in any way yet.”

I'd try it.

Lol this. Everyone's so paranoid with locks, this only makes sense if you live in a concrete bunker. Also, if they want to get in, they will. Self housing and using devices that are patched and communicate locally is the way. The only issue with this is you have to be on top of your system and ensure it's patched and up to date, but wouldn't you oil your manual lock occasionally?

edit: added clarification

Holy shit thank you for this. I really appreciate it .

edit: i do intend on still doing tech as time allows. The information you've given me is invaluable. Thank you again.

Yeah i don't think another wiki is a reliable source. I think that would fall under user forums or some shit. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Verifiability#Reliable_sources either way, good for them lol

I will absolutely update you! I'm super excited! It was a very interesting interview. I told him i HATED tech. He was like, what do you want to do? And i said anything. He sighed and said "you can stage under me. I was there 10 years ago".

Thank you for the kind encouragement.

That's better than me. I ran a security script that i.. laugh and roll my eyes at myself about in a bad way, like i deserved what i got. I didn't read the script...

So i restarted the system. Since i used an online Microsoft account to create the local user, and i didn't read the script, the only account, and admin at that, was disabled. I couldn't sign in AT ALL. Lol

I formatted the whole system and installed Fedora Plasma. I'm a Fedora fan. It's what we use in a corporate environment (rhel) and it's what i learned on.

TL;DR: Windows sucks. Linux is great and ProtonDB for those games you miss.

Liquidation has commenced.

Right. I need bins.

Or 500 pairs of unmatched socks

If you're in the states, the FCC has a tool to look this info up. It's really useful when you move to a new area: https://broadbandmap.fcc.gov/home

edit: not cost, but just like availability. Still good info though.

Orpheus is good. I used to have an account but it got disabled because I wasnt using it as much as I thought I would. Great tracker. They do a lot to make sure you can keep your ratio positive.

Can confirm. Worked at BioWare for ten years. They did a presentation at some big release event and they had the pc off stage with a pan of ice and a fan directly blowing on the open pc. Mmmhm it totally won't melt your pc! They eventually fixed it, but video game announcement trailers are total smoke and mirrors typically.

Lol it's not new, it's always been like this for as long as i can remember. Keyboard warriors will be exactly that. You just have to work around it. It's precisely why i never became an admin. These days i just stick to typo fixes using awb. Useful but not too much.

If you like Ansible and docker, check out saltbox. It's a great project and if they don't have what you need, it's in community. They also use authelia sso. I've contributed to their community repo.
