PSA: Nova Launcher's owning company sells their user data. It was a good launcher when it first came out, but it's been nothing but a downward spiral from there.
Edit for clarity: I don't mean the app itself. It is owned by an entity that exists to sell consumer data.
OMG I fucking died at Ace Attorney
Okay, why is nobody else asking why this is an image of a monitor?
I wish I could've enjoyed some hallucinogens before my memory went to shit. I'm just hoping it's my ADHD and not early onset dementia. 🙃
I was told this as a fast food manager: do not admit fault, only apologize for the situation the person is experiencing. The second you admit fault, they said, you admit liability for any damages, real or imaginary.
This game, appropriately, is where I learned there was such a thing as uppers and downers.
For whole blood, I've only ever been given a t-shirt. For plasma alone though, it was purely dependent on your weight and, therefore, how much they can take from you in the one session. I'm a tiny dude who barely weighed enough to qualify and got about $80 a couple years ago. It's honestly not worth it at all, but if you're broke it's easier than many other options. The place was full of the "undesirables" of society because of that. It drained me emotionally, seeing how blatantly exploitative it is.
Edit to add: these plasma donations can be done with a tighter window between them too, so the people who were always short on cash were in there every 2 weeks.
Edit again: I forgot that that was an introductory deal where they give you an extra $40, so it was actually $40 for me. Overweight patients could get around $70-$80.
Yeah, that's just the stance you take when shooting from a standing position in competition. It's really awkward at first, but it does improve the stability of your aim significantly.
Well, the others are using pistols, while he's using a rifle.

Surely this decision will be a net positive for the average American and won't be used as part of a malicious scheme to widen the wealth gap. /s
Good idea, let's put the guy who covers up for pedophiles into the discussion on ethical AI.
They've been over-promising on this product for more than ten years now. I remember watching promotional videos no later than 2013 for this exact product under the same Humane name. It's honestly kind of impressive that they kept their over-promising in lock-step with the progression of technology.
Sooooo, this guy's gonna have a 24-hour security detail, right? Right?
Fun fact: Redbox is operated by Chicken Soup for the Soul. I almost got hired by them but they screwed me over after I had already resigned from my previous position.
But what if the ghost messed up their dance move and now they think you're just taunting them? Do you really want to risk pissing off the ghost?
I hate how empty and lifeless they made the villagers in the latest one.
He red all over my dead til I redemption
Thought Slime goes by Mildred.....
But they're kind of self-aware, so I think it's supposed to make them more off-putting.
I'm replaying Starfield, and on my second playthrough, I'm noticing the depth they put into this game. Sometimes a single dialogue line you said days ago will have an effect on NPC attitudes through an entire side story. I'm not going to argue that it's not a regurgitation of their lame formula they've milked for the past 15+ years, but they do need to reevaluate where their money/dev time goes to.
Makes sense to me, just sounds like the crypto company is holding the state's power grid hostage
I mean, I'm a little surprised they're being so obvious about it. Really showing their ass on this one.
They already said it was a mistake when the Kansas Reflector was completely blocked, and once they said they fixed it, the website could be linked but not the article criticizing Meta specifically.
It just really feels weird to me to describe something as GLUE, but then also say that it doesn't use chemicals. One thing I take into consideration most times I'm using glue, is whether the item I'm gluing will be melted by the glue.
I get what they're trying to say, but glue is a description of a chemical compound in my mind.
My wife was a Christian when we started dating, but her opinions on LGBTQ+ issues made her start questioning her faith which led her to leave the faith altogether by the time we were married.

Solid State by Matt Fraction
The red dot means nothing to me. My brain has apparently learned to block it out nearly completely.
Looks like a terrier of some kind to me
Edit: yours, not OP image
Charlotte, NC has a long history of racism and played a huge role in the civil rights movement, so the location plays a large part in why this is such a big deal.
I just imagine the most emaciated wastelander actively bleeding out and barely limping along but stopping to just, like, take in the awe of the moment, man.
Nice try, but you aren't fooling me this time, feds!
You may like Shokz. Their headsets are wireless and bone-conducting. The drivers get pressed to your temples with a flexible wire connecting them and you hear the sound conducting through your head instead of your ear canal. The only downside I've experienced with them is that they can only drown out so much noise, so if you're planning on using them in a noisy environment, probably go with another choice.
Yeah, I don't know if they were concerned about people thinking they were being berated by animals constantly or what, but New Leafe was definitely the beginning of them sanitizing the villagers' attitudes. Wild World was my first AC game and I played it constantly for at least a year, but New Horizons lost my attention after two weeks.
I've amended my comment to make it more clear. I didn't mean to imply the app sends your data to third parties, only that the company who owns it profits off of third party information brokering. Where that information comes from is beside the point in my opinion.
The power dynamic is ever present. Can a person detained by a law enforcement officer consent to sex with that officer?
Somebody needs to call up Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency
This honestly sounds like it could be the basis for a novella
Don't forget the American robber barons!
[Edited by the commenter to remove incorrect information, see below.] I'm not sure if anything else has come up since then though, and I've continued using DDG, just not for any sort of news or information on current events. I mainly use a search engine for dev stuff anyways.
Man, that gorilla needs to work on his stance. He's swinging like an schoolgirl.
Voyager has a setting to show a baby emoji next to the name of a user if their account is less than a month old and an account age. Probably one of the best features I've ever seen for immediately recognizing troll accounts.
