I've been wondering this myself so I just went ahead and read the FCCs CAN-SPAM business compliance guide.

This is 100% a violation. As per section 7:

You must honor a recipient’s opt-out request within 10 business days. You can’t charge a fee, require the recipient to give you any personally identifying information beyond an email address, or make the recipient take any step other than sending a reply email or visiting a single page on an Internet website as a condition for honoring an opt-out request

OP could probably threaten a lawsuit and their practices will change quickly. That's assuming the company does business in the US...

edit: just realized this is stubhub. this smells like a lawsuit waiting to happen

I wonder if that key works...

How is using encrypted communication and "showing their mother" suspicious? All the evidence seems extremely circumstantial and they were locked up for 5 years before a trial? The whole thing smells fishy...

My issue was cutting out the sharing. I was paying for 4 screens at a time. Why should they care which 4 screens are being used?

Once I realized a decent VPN was $5/month, that I could get TV shows without the 35% time addition of commercials, and stop worrying about what I get going away, the issue wasn't that Netflix was bad, it was just worse than the alternative.

edit: not that Netflix has commercials, but the fact one could get anything without them as well (like paying for cable...)

CRPG apparently translates to "Computer RPG"

I'm still not sure what it means

Siemens Gigaset L410 DECT Cordless Clip

It pairs to landline phones to act as a receiver. Mostly used as an extension of a land line for, say, elderly who may have trouble getting to the phone quickly or people who work in their lawns.

I'm pretty new to lemmy but I was on reddit for more than a decade. Bots help by posting and summarizing articles but often times they miss the important stuff which require extra clicks.

I'm reminded of early reddit, to get people to talk about it you should have as much relevant info at hand. If I can save 10 people a click for 30 seconds of my time then overall it should be a better experience.

It's nice to be nice!

The article doesn't say how this works at all.

It sounds awesome, but I'd like to know more about it before I gave my dog a magic chewable.

This basically describes the first scene in The Boys

Technically it's the HTML markup for &. When publishing the title it stores it as

& amp; (with no space)

and the browser interprets it as & but when a bot posts it elsewhere it reads and reproduces the entire string as plain text. Would take a single function to fix the bot.

edit: Lemmy keeps interpreting the markup as just & lol

That was hilarious! I don't have an argument but reading through that reminded me of 2 older forum posts. A little off topic but here:

  1. I put on my wizard hat and robe

  2. The Bobbit Worm Chronicles

When you order pizza, ask for extra sauce, not cheese. They typically don't charge for that but often include extra toppings to make the pizza look "normal"

What's on second.

I don't know is on third

They occasionally do "get your first month for $1" promotions too. Might have said it that way to clarify not using those numbers too

Same with 9. There are rules for every number at least through 13 that I once knew...

7 is double the last number and subtract from the rest

749 (easily divisible by 7 but for example sake)

9*2=18

74-18=56

6*2=12

5-12= -7, or if you recognize 56 is 7*8...

I'll do another, random 6 digit number appear!

59271

1*2=2

5927-2=5925

5*2=10

592-10=582

2*2=4

58-4=54, or not divisible

I guess for this to work you should at least know the first 10 times tables...

This article literally is about play protect, not something new

I get you're joking but for real they haven't announced yet what they'll be called. Soon speculation came out that they would use either "vyomanauts" or "gaganauts" which would both translate to "sky... nauts" in Sanskrit

This was the issue with the "new" Crackdown and even Battlefield 2024. The destruction was pre determined, buildings fall after X amount of hurt.

It was better when individual buildings were maybe or maybe not demolished based on 2 of 5 positions hit with rockets. The then demolished building was used as rubble cover.

I can give many examples of why this was great, but it hasn't been for a while

Looks like maybe Liara walking down the hall... I'm sure there will be internet sleuths to sniff more out.
