If you're travelling to another country, you also get a different culture, architecture, cuisine,... even if it's "close by". That's the real criticism here that people don't get, if you're only travelling within the US, everything's pretty much the same, and you'll never expand your horizon much

the server can store metadata though. who you're texting, when, how often, etc. - and store that indefinitely. or even store the encrypted message, and when a flaw in the encryption is discovered 10 years later, they're all readable. their servers could be breached and that info could be siphoned by criminals selling it to the highest bidder.

another strong "yes" from me. my wired headset has much better speech quality than bluetooth ones. i didn't upgrade my phone since the new Pixels dropped the headphone jack, instead i fixed the screen and battery and keep it another couple of years
interesting take on the accents - never thought of it that way but it's similar in other European countries. if you go to college here, you're mostly confronted with "high german", and are looked down upon if you talk in your regional accent, which is considered courtesy of the poor and working class. i'm somewhat well educated but i refuse to belong to the self-proclaimed "elite", nothing wrong with being smart AND being yourself...

how? my macbook pro is seven years old, and the latest macOS i could get is two major versions behind. I've tried installing linux and apparently it is a generation that is particularly troubled, with an endless list of broken things curated on github. eventually bad Bluetooth- and no internal audio-support was a showstopper to keep using it
