IIRC this all came about because a different company has the rights to Godzilla in the US and that US distributor didn’t want -1.0 to cut into the sales of the new Godzilla Kong movie, which is all bullshit.

That sounds like something a bot would say…🧐

Tbf, the US just had two people contract avian flu from cows. This kind of thing can happen anywhere.

The weather-related disruptions have caused suspension of the cleaning and emptying of thousands of portable toilets. Event organizers have said more rain was expected through Sunday before the festivals ends on Monday.

Uh…

Could this be a case of gen z having a larger online presence than boomers? Kind of like how people from Florida are more likely to be attacked by sharks than someone from Kansas?

Edit: I somehow missed this on the first pass.

There are a few theories that seem to come up again and again. First, Gen Z simply uses technology more than any other generation and is therefore more likely to be scammed via that technology

Yeah, all I can think of is that they would play ads 24/7 right in front of the parking spot.

It's never gone above 35C/95F

I think I speak for 99% of the people here when I say “FUCK THAT”

At first I thought it was a scoop of ice cream. Nope, crack pipe.

Jeeves?

The one example I’ve heard that makes sense are NFTs to represent a purchase of digital games. This then allows the selling of digital keys second hand.

Other than that it all sounds like a scam.

I can’t find the article that I read yesterday but this one is missing the birds origin. Apparently it was a racing pigeon from Taiwan.

Edit: I’m an idiot, it was literally this community. https://lemmy.world/post/11453522

Love this quote from Iron Man 3.

_ “The human element in ‘Human Resource’ is our biggest vulnerability. We should start phasing it out immediately”_

Good! The only reason I am able to have affordable fast internet is due to having 3 real high speed options: google fiber(5gb max), att fiber(2gb max), and spectrum(1gb max). If only one of those existed at my location I would bet I would have worse service at a higher price.

Of course not, but what little I know of NFTs is they do the two things needed for that to be possible: one, ability to transfer ownership, and two, verify ownership.

I have no clue if NFTs are the best way to accomplish that, let alone even a good way, and people much smarter than me can figure that out.

In the end I don’t think it matters. For it to be viable it would require the big companies to adopt it, which I never see them accepting a legal way to do second hand sales of digital goods.

I forget that there is a prime minister and an Irish president. Because this is a great photo.

At this point I assume every terrible decision like this is done for SEO reasons.

Same, we have some deranged admins 🤣

Really wish they would update it to allow you to define the space boundaries with the headset on. With the Vive if you don’t start it a certain way then you have to redo the boundary setup.

Haha, I think the joke is that the three of us run solo instances.

Love proxmox. Been using it for nearly a decade and while it has its pain points it has been rock solid for me for the past 4 years.

My favorite are the chargers at buc-ees. Get to buy some beef jerky and a bbq sandwich while charging.

Exactly 😂

Shameful is putting it lightly…

Investors at Cerberus, meanwhile, aren't the only ones who scored a home run by inflicting financial pain on Steward. In 2021, MPT loaned the hospital chain's operating team, including de la Torre, $335 million to buy out Cerberus. Steward then turned around and paid its new owners, including de la Torre, a dividend of about $100 million. A few months later, de la Torre bought a $40 million yacht named the Amaral, which features a library, a gym, and a whirlpool on the top deck. Just after that, Steward filed with the government to delay paying back pandemic-era loans, citing "extreme financial hardship."

On top of what ShustOne said, I would argue that they have know this for over 10 years and was the reason they created Netflix originals starting with House of Cards.

Papyrus

That’s what I was thinking. I don’t think I’ve seen them available in the last 3 months.

Do you save big money?

I can understand that when the site is selling sneakers or a PS3 but is there a big market on scalping CNC machines? Plus I figure it would be trivial to create a bot that would create a comment on each post asking for the price so the sites bot sends the email with the price.

What was their reason for not allowing it?

I remember getting movies off irc. Was how I watched Super Troopers.

Tbf, a lot of these multi gig plans are geared to families, where more than one person could be doing high bandwidth activities. Or even just one person doing high bandwidth things doesn’t cause the other persons zoom call to stutter.

That being said, ain’t no one NEED 20gbits but by god I would enjoy it.

Is this surprising? Phones are living a lot longer than 2 years these days and while there have been some jumps in performance YoY, 2-4 year old phones perform basic tasks just as well as their new counterparts.
